The colours in the feathers and the way he frills them, mixed with the almost robotic movements of his claws. Looks almost otherworldly. Reminds me of an alien assessing a soon-to-be victim before it strikes.
Lots of birds do that. I have a parakeet of all things, birds that don't even have crests, and her feathers expand on her head when she gets angry. It's very bizarre.
I once met a cocatoo that would dance. If you bobbed up and down, they would spread their mohawk-crest and bob up and down right along with you. It was adorable.
Its amazing how literally every creature in the world has the ability to smile. I can see the parrot smiling while its playing with this toy. So amazing. We're so lucky to have such beautiful brothers and sisters that inhabit this planet along with us.
That is anthropomorphism. Parrots,cockatoos,and all that kind of birds always look like they are smiling because of the form of the beak. But in animal terms, you can see he is getting either aggresive or stressed, or something like that,because he is lifting up his feathers while opening the beak. The only animals that can do "real and voluntary expressions", are the ones with face muscles developed :)
