In real life people who already wanted to kill someone at night will not stop after those 12 hours. With all the chaos and damage and murdered people you can easily kill someone on the day after the purge and it would be too chaotic for any police team to figure out who did it and whether it was done after those 12 hours with all the bodies laying around. Most people don't want to kill or rape even if it is legal. Countries with stricter laws do not have automatically lower crime rates than countries with lower prison sentences.

If there are these types of murders going on, it wouldn’t be hard to get in touch with someone who works for those companies or in those shops and offers them money are a percentage of what you earn if they tell you where they’ve inventories to. From there, you could most likely break in more than easily and then steal them. Job done.

These movies are really disappointing for how crazy interesting the premise is. You could probably make a fairly decent mini-series using the idea of "everything is legal for one night", just showcasing what everyone is doing on one particular Purge. Just kind of sad that the only crime people think is worth committing is murder.
I think the problem is that the ones committing murder are scaring everyone else. Just imagine yourself there. Perhaps you want to steal a video game or a new computer. And what do you see when you step outside of your home? People with dogs and guns hunting down anything living to kill. Yep, pretty sure you'd go back inside in an instant. My sense of self-preservation comes before my wish to have something expensive/money...

Well, we say 'because people can get it out of their system' but really it is because the people most likely to die during a Purge are the poorer folk, those that can't afford private armies to keep them safe. Why do you think we don't have a homeless problem?"
Just seeing something like an HBO miniseries that was an anthology-thing would be great. Are Mom and Pop stores no longer around because only Wal-Mart can hire the armed security necessary to protect their wares? What kind of super illegal research would a scientist get into during those 12 hours? 12 hour unlimited human trials for whatever drugs a pharmaceutical company was working on? Human cloning?
What would the most dangerous hate groups do with 12 free hours? Would police officers use the 12 hours as a method to wipe out known criminals; just entire SWAT teams slaughtering drug dealers and other criminals?
It is just a goldmine of Twilight Zone-esque episodes that, so far, have only been used for "what happens when you can't call the police?"

The last scene always makes me wonder about a question all the Purge movies so far have failed to answer: Are hospitals even open during purge night? What about other facilities that operate on people doing night shifts? If the police is apparently out of the picture, so should be all other emergency services, the fire department, hospitals and ERs, etc.
Per the television series, hospitals are locked down, as well as facilities that have third shift workers. Such facilities and establishments are typically financially well off enough, and economically influential enough, that they can afford to take the measures required. But police, EMT's and such are citizens and as such, the Constitutional addition of the Purge extends to them the same.

Are you honestly telling me that he wouldn't be killed for it just because purge night was over? Second way) Set up traps at your house,and hide. Also have weapons.

Fifth way) Hide in basements,sheds or something.Have locks and weapons with you
Sixth way) Try to get rescued,it's risky tho.
Seventh way) Get a gang,it's safer and you'll be more powerfull.

With the rules of the purge, I’ve always wondered, like, if I were to break into a fancy penthouse and move my shit in...can they kick me out the next day when things go back to normal? Or do people get grandfathered in there and it’s losers weepers, winners keepers? Because if not, this is my plan.

I would just make like dutch and cover myself with mud, and hide, throwing rocks to distract automated sentries, and using a homemade hatchet to axe their lights, then using a shovel, i would spend an hour digging in to their lesser reinforced areas (rich people seem to think less rich people aint smart, leading to them thinking that you wouldnt be smart enough to dig into the ground) then slowly sneak around their house, grabing shit, and wait until purge night is over. They come out, i kill them, and leave the area with no witnesses ( i could claim the rich guy was unaware that i was in the house during purge night) and live the rest of my life
