What was your favourite bike from this list? What is the best bike you've ever owned? Let us know in the comments below! 👇
Rich's "meh" KTM because I really wanted that bike at the time, apparently it's a great thing I never got my hands on one 🎉😂
Martyn Ashton is a national treasure and should be protected at all costs.
Protected from what? The guy is in a wheelchair and he works on a bicycle review show. I don’t think that you could get more protected than that!
So cringe this
That back on track video always brings me to tears, I've watched it A LOT. Thanks for everything you do Martyn! (And hi Rich, love your realistic rankings of your old bikes.)
Random Tandem has to be Super Nice. The amount of people Martyn gets to terrify on that bike has to give it a Super Nice. The Bowheads are engineered pieces of art. The original trials bike of Martyn's is totally cool. Rich had some serious weapons in his arsenal, those Yetis were definitely cool.
If you had to pick one bike from the list what would be your favorite?
@@gmbn Honestly I would have to say the Bowheads simply because they get Martyn riding with everyone and you never see him without a smile on his dial after riding them, even when he got stuck on that trail and had to wait for the guys to come back for him, he only had bears and possibly mountain lions to worry about but he was having an adventure.
Random Tandem could be a regular segment. With Martyn riding with, and interviewing a different MTB legend each week :)
@0:37 that aint rich's stab, thats my old frame that i sold to someone and it originally appeared on another vid of gmbn's back in august when the new owner submitted it, bit cheeky
We all know why Cannondale's get a super nice! 😅 Martyn!!!
Loved the Sender, and that was such a great video to watch. I'm also biased as I have that same full factory Sender and it is an incredible bike (just wish it was a 29er now).
Martyn, all my bikes are super nice, Bike vault, all bikes mehhh
So where would the Ashton justice place?
Martin, what about your Raleigh Road bike from road bike party?... what score does it get? Loved that video 😊 though I have still no desire for a road bike 😂
@gmbn can you please make a video about Outbraker brake splitter and also the ABS brake system .
Yess coyote dhx! I currently ride mongoose pro which is a rebrand but same exact frame, heavy things. Also had a kona stab primo, awesome looking frames with the rear floating brake but felt they were a bit front end steep. Some mint builds you guys have had👌
a weird one i had back around 2003-4.
rocky mountain RM7, marzzochi JrT, mix of xt and xtr 3x9, raceface turbike cranks triple ring 22/32/40. hope m4 brakes.
hope xc hubs laced to 24inch sun doublwide 46mm rims on IRC Kujo 2.7/2.35 mix.
it was a bizarelly capable super long travel trail bike on wide rims to run sub 20psi pressures waaaay before its time. heavy but not bad to climb, but hilarious down single track
We need to see Seth Alvo on the back of the random tandem!
I'm feeling really old now. My favourite mtb was my only marin B17 late 90s was a mega bike for the rides climbed well and the down hills so much fun. Most bikes then only had a few inches of travel. This thing was 6in rear and had RST triple clamps with 4in at the front and it would go through anything compared to other bikes back then for the same sort of money.
Class to see how much rich loves martyn when he was showing his cannondale
I remember seeing Rich and his Deviate at Dirt Farm (was BMCC then) with the black one… looked crazy at the time
nice collection
This is missing Martyn’s original specialized rockhopper, Monty mod and the Ashton justice
Worst bike was a Whyte PRESTON and best bike was my current BIRD AERIS enduro build !!
The Random Tandem was amazing BECAUSE it horrified/terrified everybody else. Also, Rich’s Yeti was a SB66, not a SB160. I also snapped my rear end, as well as the dogbone.
Hey, Martyn? What about Pinarello Dogma? The rig from Bike Party?
It is a great bike!❤
Cool video. But I see some Jack in the back there over Rich's right shoulder. I want to know who's it is!
Poor Kona Stab, they actually ride pretty well as long as you're not too tall! Lol
No Mondraker?
My friend has an old Yeti bmx and cyclocross bikes.
You’ve done the Random Tandom dirty! 😢
I cannot be the only one that thinks any bike that Martin rides after his accident is super nice. I've watched all those videos and no one who rode in the back of the random tandem thought it was meh. The look on Blake's face when he was on the back says it will be on one of his best, it's more than the capability of the bike that matters.
Every Nicolai bike is a SUPER nice bike 🔥🔥
Worst Ever: 1992 Trek 9000 full suspension. It bobbed just from looking at it......horrible riding bike. (Honorable mention: 1994 Mongoose AMP B-3.....the front and rear wheels did not talk to each other very much....)
Best Ever: 2019 GT Sensor (alum)......modern geometry cannot be beat, all my previous bikes never handled like this one does.
Trek sure has come a long way with their suspension designs.
Worst bike I ever rode was a kid orange bike (not the brand) with hard plastic tires. I had my first big crash smashing my balls on the stem. I stayed on the ground for 45 minutes at least in pain 😂. And the best bike I ever had and didn't had a chance to really ride it is my new Yeti SB 140. I have to wait for the snow to melt and we got 30cm on its way. Canadian 🇨🇦 snow ❄️ suck 😂
Martyn is the coolest guy ever. Will always watch videos with him, super stoked on bikes and properly inspirational. He just loves bikes 😂
How is he inspirational? What does he inspire the average person to do?
@@minerva2958I don’t know mate, maybe because he throws himself down hills on bikes and continues a career within the sport after snapping his back in half. Could have been very easy for him to just wallow and quit.
Chopper..
@@Philares66 what a pile of absolute rubbish. Could have been easy for him to wallow and quit… how so? Is he some sort of secret millionaire? Or does the UK give massive benefits to former trials riders in wheelchairs? He has a family to feed and therefore needs a job. His motivation to provide for his family is in no way diminished by the fact that he is in a wheelchair. I think he’s a decent enough presenter, but let’s be honest what on earth can he actually contribute to a bicycle review?? It’s like having g a vegan reviewing steak, because ten years ago, before becoming a vegan they ate lots of them… I’m sure that he has some place in the industry, but not as a reviewer of current mtb’s. I find it cringe to hear a man in wheelchair talk about the riding qualities of a bike he can’t ride. It almost makes me feel sorry for him, because he’s like a dancing bear in the circus.
My shadiest bike was a mail order Access that I built with mail order parts from ads in Mountain Bike magazine in 1995, I got it as a bare aluminum frame and painted it bright canary yellow with Specialized stickers 😅 shameful but I was just a dumb kid 😂
Supergo!
Rich rode for Ram!? Ha!
Random Tandem got robbed!
thirty mins
Worst, early 90’s square tubed Cross country PACE, then A sling-shot, Best 2005 cross country SCAPIN.
