Replacing worn out 1957 Chevrolet steering box with fresh rebuilt 15:1 ratio manual unit. Difficulty level. Not too bad. Music by that most excellent band "Sleazy Mancini". See them live. Buy their music. See Ralph's car.

Thank you Jeffery. Front disc brake conversion is next.My Father gave me this car when I turned 15. Way back in 1973. Everyone told me I would sell it when I grew up. I guess I never grew up. Hope you get to see Sleazy Mancini live. If you do, be sure to show Ralph your 57. They get around.

AFTER changing to front disc brakes, I found my steering gear box was shot. (I assumed it was the pitman arm assembly; I assumed wrong. Now it looks like I will have to remove the proportioning valve (and maybe the booster?). In order to have enough room to remove and replace the steering box.☹

How do I know what length of shaft I should get? For example: Lares offers 36-1/8" & 36-1/4"
