    The video should be longer. That way we get to see the whole struggle of getting it swapped over. All at one time.

      My phone only allows 5 min recording. And im not good at editing and my time is limited.
      You're right, my videos do need to be longer to tell more of the story, but im doing good just to find time to make these.
      Thank you for watching anyway. Thx thx

    The process you're describing has me considering using a Toyota Prius electronic power steering column in the Rambler. My box is good, unlike yours, but if I can pull it off I won't have to mess with changing the power steering box and pumps and hoses and pullys and such as that. I'm still in the research and parts collecting phase at this point. Good luck with yours..

      2009 malibu has electric steering but mine gave a lot of problems.
      The FIRST thing i look for on newer cars i buy is to make sure it has fluid type ps. I replaced my malibu steering 3 times. I got fast at tearing the WHOLE dash apart!

      @@restodan Interesting... Well, this'll be my first experience with one. Toyota had a recall on the lower steering shaft extensions, but I don't think I'll need to use that at all and can tie directly into the Rambler shaft. Time will tell. I'll make videos, as always. Love ya man.

    Dan thanks for sharing. I will be doing this same swap on my 56. Is it better to buy the shorted column or modify the original?

    • @restodan
      @restodan  Před 4 lety +2

      I think buying the pre made shortened kit is best. I make more money at my job than i would save making my own.
      And i dont like tilt columns on trifives. That steering wheel location is perfect imo

      @@restodan thanks for the reply! I'm thinking the same. Will be following along. Hope you get the time to update your install. I could use the advise on it. The column looks to be the trickiest part for mine. And buying it already modified sounds like a great idea. Have to look around for a good price.
      I enjoy your channel thanks for sharing.
