I listened to the audiobook of this years ago and the show is even better then the book. The show reminds a lot of the film Ella Enchanted which fits the vibe of this book so well. I’m currently listening to the book My Contrary Mary which is about Mary Queen of Scots and I think is set in the same universe as My Lady Jane. It would be great this gets a season two and they later make series for the other books.
The number of people I’ve seen loosing their mind about the historical inaccuracies in this fantasy show is crazy, the very first minute shows the history and what happened while stating that they are going to change it. I loved the humour and angst in this so much, fingers crossed for a second season, Mary’s gotta go
I LOVE THIS SHOW! I haven't watched any new shows in a long time, so when I saw ads for this I wanted to watch it. I've already watched all the episodes twice through and it's soooooo good! I want a season 2 now!
9:34 The Great falls under the category of dark comedy when compared to My Lady Jane but they are quite similar in terms of humour and that they are historically inaccurate (but intentionally) I just finished my lady jane today and I went in thinking it was just a enemies to lovers romance but it was so much more. The narration was hilarious and the characters were amazing. The actors did a great job.
Just finished episode 3. I'm really enjoying it so far! The mix of fantasy with medieval europe and modern feminist attitudes works better than I thought. Lady Jane slays so hard and I love it!
Hey cam! I wanted to let you know that when I asked you and Chris for tv show recommendations on one of his live streams you mentioned teen wolf and one tree hill. I recently finished teen wolf and loved it!!!! I recently started one tree hill and am currently on season 2 and I love it as well!!!
hate hate hate how they incorporate modern-day concepts, characterization, music, and dialogue. If I wanted to watch something that had that i wouldn't be watching a period drama now would i? I get that they wanted to alter the story and i could ignore some of the SEVERAL historical inaccuracies some of which might be intentional but atp it's getting so annoying and this is coming from someone who loves loves fantasy but i also love love history.

My Lady Jane changed my brain chemistry! I’m completely addicted. Love the show! Emily and Edward are amazing and I need more from them❤
"The Great" was fun, but "My Lady Jane" is perfect! It ticked all the right boxes for me, it has the perfect balance of silliness, romance and fantasy

I binge-watched this show in less than 24 hours last weekend and I'm already rewatching it and showing it to my mom! It's such a fun watch!

Damn, standards are so low these days.
Too campy for me, i'm afraid. I tried to like it but i just couldn't get into. The main actor too, not really like his acting choices.
