Litterly everybody I recommend this show to, I say ‘do not watch anything about it beforehand’. Just because I like that misdirect a lot with Guildford.

I feel so stupid that I never really understood why Jane was put on the throne...she was 4th in the line! We covered that part of history so quickly in class that I was like "how is this random gir on the throne nowl?" XD

@@shayasims Because we studied it very briefly since we covered it simultaneously in France and Spain. It was literally "put on the throne" and "sentence to death".
Another part that I didn't know is that Mary actually pardoned her and Guilford, knowing they were just pawns. But a second uprising against Mary (to put Elisabeth on the throne) was her final death sentence.

The actress who played Lady Jane, her name ane is Emily Bader had me fooled! I thought she was English! But she is ALL AMERICAN from soCal. What a great actress.

"Get rich get the money" Except it isn't her money - it's her husband's money, and she has no guarantee that a person she has never met will let her use it as she wishes. Listen to what the Duke said - he didn't even let his wives read! It's easy to say marry for money in this day and age without really absorbing what being a married noble woman meant back then. You MIGHT get some autonomy over your household, but that's it. The real world is not nice, sure, but neither is being married to someone who treats you like nothing, which was a real possibility. There were NO good options for women, unless you got really lucky.
