Yes!!!! It's a hilarious series, and it only gets better! I was so shocked as well when the maid turned into a bird. I had no prior knowledge of there being magic in this world and properly spit out my drink when it happened 😅 So happy you're giving it try, almost nobody has yet and it's a proper shame. Enjoy!!

Love your reaction but you kept referring to "Ethians" as "Ethiopians". The first is a fictional group (in the show) the other is very real and not part of this fictional story!

I am not the person to intentionally do that for views. I mention Bridgerton because it is the most recent historical related bit of content that I have seen so I saw many parallels. Nothing was done with harm in mind

About arranged marriages... I'm really glad that the show includes Katherine and Mary (renamed Margaret in the show) Grey. They're not in the book and to be honest, the show is better than the book. IRL they both married for love and they were both cruelly punished for it by Elizabeth I. Elizabeth deeply hated the Grey sisters (the show depicts her as an ally, but IRL she was their worst enemy), especially Katherine who she kept imprisoned for 6.5 years until she died at the age of 27. Meanwhile Mary's husband's health was destroyed in prison, he was forced to eat food dropped in a bucket full of mange treatment for dogs, to humiliate him. All 3 sisters had horrible fates in real life and this is what I find really endearing about the show, knowing the real history. Comedy aside, it feels like a loving tribute to the Grey sisters. I especially loved Jane's speech at her trial, it feels like the show is breaking the 4th wall and giving a serious defence of real life Jane. What is said in the speech is applicable to real life as well.
