  • Hello and welcome to Lord Fenton Gaming plays Neverwinter Nights. I am your host Lord Fenton. In today's Neverwinter Nights Builds, this time it is the Finesse Assassin. This is an evil player build that means if your doing any of the official campaigns you best take the evil paths or choices otherwise you will not be able to level up the Assassin Prestige class. Yes that is right this starts off as Rogue than one level as a Shadow Dancer and finally go full blown Assassin. With Death Attack that can paralyzed your foes so they can die painfully, plus the Shadow Dancers hide in plain sight plus some Rogue tools you can become one evil Assassin that even the Devil Lords of the Abyss watches in pleasure as you slice up foes as an halfing agent of evil. As always like, comment, and Subscribe to my channel for more builds and evil builds like this.

    Question why do you go exotic proficiency when you can just use rapier for the crit range, are halfings not able to duel wield them due to size?

    • @LordFentonGaming
      @LordFentonGaming  Před 7 měsíci

      I did exotic for the kukri. As for the gnomes and halflings well you have to hold a rapier with two hands thus the kukri.

    I've never tried a finnesse build before. Even when I go rogue I tend to go strength. Can you give some more advice on this? When going dex instead of strength, can you still hit as hard?

    • @LordFentonGaming
      @LordFentonGaming  Před 3 lety

      Finesse gives you dex bonuses on weapons instead of str for certain ones like one of them in this build. Now Dex gives you more reflex saves and armor too. Str gives you carry weight and some good str based feats including Devastating Crits to one shot many foes if they fail their fortitude saves. Str builds depending on the weapon you use is slight advantage otherwise Dex is really good and have some nice defensive stuff to help.

    The fact assassin gets Darkness but not ultra vision is a bit annoying considering its 50% miss but as a trade off its 100% sneak attack, meaning its really just half the damage, odd

    • @LordFentonGaming
      @LordFentonGaming  Před 3 lety

      It is odd but if you get someone like for example a elf you can get an upgrade in vision just won't get the extra feat and skill points. You can find items with Ultra vision to help you out on that too.

    • @LordFentonGaming
      @LordFentonGaming  Před 4 lety

      It could be one reason and it is online worlds. For instance Ravenloft One World if I remember put 1-2 of those skills into influence while another one did something else with it. It could be those reasons. Persuasion skill I will say is default since the original release.

    • @LordFentonGaming
      @LordFentonGaming  Před 3 lety

      Those would be a good combo including one level shadowdancer because of the cleric just go buff crazy and the rogue part would own it. As for domains those are really good.

    I have a question about death attack's Dc, I hear it scales off Intelligence, is this true?

    • @LordFentonGaming
      @LordFentonGaming  Před 3 lety

      It is fortitude save + Assassin levels + Intelligence. So yes it goes partly off of that stat. So your target has say 5 fortitude saves and your assassin is 10 with 14 int. They have a good shot of that attack landing.

  • @jakegovson1813

    I was watching this build, and it gave me an idea for a build of my own (I am unsure whether or not to go assassin or rouge on this for one part, was thinking assassin would benefit from the 13+ intelligence needed off the bat for this anyway, ) i call this build "bandit master rouge" i was thinking doing this with rapier because this build focuses HEAVILY on parry and parry wont get the guaranteed at least -4 parry, rapier would be medium size (probably wont be great with halfling, would you recommend elf but -20% xp if assasin tradeoff or human, +1 feat, skillpoints and multiclass penalty wont ever go past 20% ) or if your willing to stretch stats out slightly (I think its a bad idea because it sacrifices benefit from weapon finesse) Maybe dual wield? Not sure. But was thinking race: human(Or elf) gender doesn't matter as always as with portrait. alignment: any evil (if assassin) and stat
    Points: strength I'd say 10 for +0 and -0 dex is Main as normal, con: not sure, if any leftovers put here i would suppose intelligence: 13 (This is vital for one feat, Improved parry, free +4 on parry on top of skill focuses:parry and dex bonus? Yes please! ) and wisdom to my knowledge is a dump stat for this build then skill points: Parry 4 hide 4 move quietly 4 use items: debatable. pick lock and remove trap? Debatable. Set trap? 4? Any leftover I'd save (oh and maybe put some appraisal for stubborn shopkeepers first class: rouge (or alternatively take fighter and build for some assassin) qualify for 1 shadowdancer as quick as possible. Important feats are: great dex, epic skill focus: parry armor skin and weapon finesse, the idea behind this sneak attack , hide sneak attack if they can be sneak attacked, if they somehow see you just abuse parry, they'll kill themselves trying to hit you. Or just sneak attack and parry the rest of the fight and undead wont be as much as an issue because not only do you have high ac, you also have a chance to parry A attack that *Would* hit so you are hard to hit. With epic skill focus parry thats +6 then the improved parry gives +4 so a total of +12 competence bonus before dexterity or skill points even come in play, and i think there are gloves of parrying as well, And counterattack happens if you have +10 more parry then the attacker has attack bonus, so just with those two feats anything with +2 or less attacks bonus will be counter attacked, then you add dex bonus and skill points and you can parry and counter attack most creatures. Sure you can only parry a number of attacks equal to your attacks per round, but weapon finesse gives more attacks and Both run off dex. Do you have any suggestions for this build? Im thinking of testing it on Hotu {keeping it vauge for spoilers} bosses im hoping improved evasion will help me in that one fight with {spoiler} mage his scripted teleport annoyed my fighter, but his elementals couldn't do a thing (red dragon fire immunity is amazing) and he was undead so 12-20 crit was useless. But hopefully i would have enough damage with this rouge to beat {spoiler} mage? Thank you for your time and the video was very helpful. Sorry for the article of a comment

    • @LordFentonGaming
      @LordFentonGaming  Před 3 lety

      I am going to say if you have one level in Shadow Dancer than yeah this setup will be broken in your favor. I am saying your weapon, feat and other good choices would tear stuff up. If the mage does not have true seeing than that mage you will stuck script on him so you can abuse the shadow dancer's lone ability and than let the other classes stuff set in.

      I wanted to focus on the assassin prestige class since is it the main focus of the build. That is why I got picked the three classes. If I do another build than yes Rogue follow by 1 sd and monk is good with robes only way to go.
