Neverwinter Nights Long Distance Sniper Arcane Archer Build

- Hello and welcome to Lord Fenton Gaming plays Neverwinter Nights. I am your host Lord Fenton. In today's Neverwinter Nights Builds, I am going to build up on the Arcane Archer. It is my Long Distance Sniper Build. In this build I am going to use range in a way that is deadly, and well just say foes can be critted with a long bow that they will die. This build will get you to that feat for the Arcane Archer and more. I will talk about what gear to use, what tactics and a nice demo of the Long Distance Sniper build. My pleasure. I wanted to build one and I was very happy. Really fun the Arcane Archer to play.
Ok i will sugest some builds.
9 monk 5 wizard 26 AA. This is the fastest archer u can make ever, if you understand how he works. Also improved evasion. Hit and run. Ab around 66 ac 60. Hit run tatics do work well.
12 paladin 1 ilusionist wizard*to grab one more spell* 27 This is the hightest AB possible in the game. If i remember correctly can reach 80 with wizard true strike, ac is low 50-55. You also use your familiar. Really important point is to grab the red wyrm familiar as he is the only familiar with true see. The way this build works is to seat down hided and just wander around with the familiar to pic your target as he has true see and see everything.
I have 2 more strong builds but i will hide haha, prob talk later :P
Those are really good builds including the monk because of it's AC and it's bonuses if you get some Wisdom items to boost it. The Pally and Wizard combo is nice because of the true strike goodies. Those are some good combos.
@@LordFentonGaming I will tell you a build of my own that would improve this build you are making.
Instead making this way, make a Bard / Red dragon disciple Arcane Archer.
This way you will get free 8 Str, to archieve a devastating critical around 40 to 44. And also good ab with the bow around 60-66.
@@ThorVeras At the time of the build I've favored the Wizard. Now realizing it the Bard is a nice one too since you can use arcane magic as one than get another Prestige class that is great for 10 levels and that is it. Thanks again ThorVeras.
bow is wont work with monk/ same as unarmed numbers of atacks? sorry my english

Work with monk normaly but the only weapons that get extra atacks with monk is kama or go with fists.
I found the problem With what i was doing, it wasn't the BAB i was looking at. Thats why i couldn't take it. Hopefully i can take this build now! Looks great! Great video and build!

There is so much you can do with the Arcane Archer. Heck all classes have something to speak about . Great points you pointed out.

Very cool. I did test run this on a few areas in Chapter 0 and Chapter 1. I am considering putting this one up to bat on one of the premium modules.
Is it worth 3 wizard levels for the level 2 spells?
Would darkness even work at later levels. Spell resistance claims to bypass it?
If Dex is going to get pumped into, a high reflex with an item granting improved evasion would work wonders for this build? Basically allow you to walk all over mages.
It is worth it if your going for the Arcane Archer since it is a powerful prestige class in this game. With high Dex your reflex saves going to be insane.
Why not use a bow with Mighty?
This build is focus on Dex. Mighty has Str. If this was str build I'd say go for it.

@@PsyMOONze This main focus is Dex for the range weapon. If you wanted mighty than pump some str into it.
any toughs on STR Wisdom Fullplate elf bard arcane archer Assasin? you can pump str and have 14 intel and 13 dex, landing shots with Zen Archery.
Long as you have high Wisdom to increase your hit chance than that is the key. If you see Mighty on a range weapon than the physical damage bonus comes from str. With those two you can do some serious damage.
What module are you playing to demonstrate all these builds? :)
Novice to Epic character maker v5.1. I got this mod from Gog.com somehow when I bought the game on a sale many years ago before the Enhanced Editon was out.
enchant arrow it's a passive ability?
Yep and at certain points of the Arcane Archer leveling the enchantment goes up. I am considering using this for the Infinite Dungeons module.

Which campaign are you playing on? If it is the original you need to go to the temple in Chapter 1, the cabin in chapter 2, Chapter 3 spot where it starts and same for Chapter 4 is the spot you start it. Now if it is Shadows of Undentide one than you need a healing kit to revive one. Hordes of the Underdark you will need to use the res rode or spell to revive your companion. If any other campaigns or modules than I will find out what you need to do.
Why add to strength after devastating crit? I didn’t think it did anything for bows. New to game, genuinely curious!
There is a great debate about this. Dex with bows makes you land hits while str with bows does more damage. Thus the great debate between str and dex. I did it for str to have more damage with the bow. If I ever want to modify this build I stop at 26 str than pump the rest into dex to hit.

@@Apostate1970 If you have a mighty bow str would be good otherwise go dex unless your doing a get str to a certain point than rest into dex.

Is there a reason to max on Arcane Archer and not get Fighter to 20?
Pretty good question. Arrow enchantment goes up on epic levels and the explosion arrow increases in damage.
@@LordFentonGaming Pretty good reasons depending on the level of scaling, was just curious because it seemed like you were just giving up fighter feats for nothing.

Yes you can and if you put more levels into the Arcane Archer those arrows are even more deadly.
Why does the crit range still show 19-20 even though it should be 17-20 with improved crit?
If you have Improved Critical feat with a long bow, short bow or sling shot you have 19 to 20 on the dice roll due to the original roll for critical hits is 20. Your thinking ok Crossbows are better threat range 19-20 to start to be exact however the multiplier is 2X. Short and Low bows has 3X multiplier while Sling Shot is that. So the trade off for bows is that 20 starting crit with a nice 3X multiplier is that is why. I was giving an example of what the change is on weapons if you get the Improved Critical feat.

Does this work with Mighty?
Since I pump into str at one point in the build it will work with Mighty.
