You use your hand to soften your fall. To experienced players, this become a reflex, they don't have to think about it at all, they automatically do this.

I have an uncle and he used to be a famous sipak takraw player. There was one time that I still couldn't forget. I used to play this game during my high school days....I loved this game so much but sad to say we don't have a very good coach back then, so we trained by ourselves, I can do that spike but not as good as the # 4 guy, he is so quick and flip like a cat once touches the ground, that sports is way to hard to play, you can have multiple bone injuries in a single mistake specially the spike movement.
Same bro, when I play this game for the first time I feel embarrassed, we only score because of the serveses🤣

The game originally from Malaysia but this version is co-design between 2country Thailand and Malaysia hence the name Sepak Takraw, sepak is Malaysian means kick and takraw is Thai means ball.
