I'm glad I watched this, somehow years ago, I got the idea the chaos magick was dark magic. So glad I know differently now. 🪷
As a neuroscientist and a fellow pagan, I really don't understand the people's argument ''this is only placebo'' . I mean, if one thing really shapes your whole brain organization through pure will, isn't that powerful? For me, magic is purely placebo. Or rather, placebo is pure magic. We need not to deny it, but to use it as a justification
In short, this human need for a concrete truth is the real harm here, and a deeper flawed philosophical problem. Magic/paganism uses the same neurocognitive features as any other belief systems
I watched a podcast that was called “placebo magic”.
The idea of it is very similar to the chaos magic described here and via what you have said too.
I kinda like the idea of using the more scientific to make magic more relatable and relevant if you will.
I’ve been a chaos magick practitioner for years, but could never seem to parse out an actual description (for others, or for my own study) - so THANK YOU for the best, most concise summary I’ve ever heard of CM! oh my Goodness I didn’t know that I was a chaos magician baby.. Because life just drove me to the point that I Tried every single religion or practice of the earth, and I taught I was stupid just because I couldn’t find my practice or religion to follow. Instead it just means that I am someone who is not attached to any kind of religion of or practice in particular. Thank you for sharing this I feel less alone. Also I was very scared to practice Magic because people say that if you are not helped by some deities or eggregore, you risk your life, and i stopped

Thanks for being so thorough on your summary of this subject & for your recommendations! It can be kinda complicated to explain & there is much to explore with Chaos Magick. But the wonderful thing about Magick is there are many paths to the destination. I've always been one to experiment and have had amazing epiphanies as well as been surprised when my subconscious says "nope, road block" but there is always another way. The more you know yourself the more the road opens.

Energy Model, Spirit Model, Psychological Model, Information Model, Meta Model, All of Them are Models of Chaos Magick.
Doesn't matter if you're working with Elements, Spirit Animals, The Æsirs, or Looney Toons.
You get a Belief in you're head, you do the Work, if it Gets Results: It's (Chaos) Magick. If it doesn't: Do Something Else.
If you limit Chaos Magick to the Psychological Model, you're just Playing Mind Games by Yourself.

I totally hear you! I have some work I’ve done sort of setting the premise of the term chaos magick and I really get what you mean by some certain type of discipline or some kind of importance about what works…!
I started to join a new path and Pantheon every year, dedicating fully to it. Any less time wouldn't be enough to gain gnosis or benefit. It was Egyptian this year, and I'll be introducing Greek next.

It took me 15 years to master Chaos Magick. I have a nice sized reality farm. You covered the gist very well without making it seem inaccessible. I would say that those with mental health sensitivities should be weary. Consciousness is manipulated by forces that are indifferent to human suffering. Let’s just say you should treat your demons like dangerous pets… with love because they are yours…but with respect for how they can ruin your day.
It’s much more of a lifestyle than art. A lust for results is a human response to seeing the physical world manipulated by your will. But results increase exponentially. Though one frustration or challenge rather is keeping your behavior in the world shared with all beings relative to the world perceived in a state of gnosis.

I think I wanna base my grimoire on Alice in Wonderland I love the Tim Burton version and just the aesthetic is such great scope for the imagination I love the chaoticness of the world. I'm so chaotic myself I've never stuck to anything so chaos magick seems to be the best path for me.

I'm not really a believer in the supernatural but I can confirm stuff like gnosis is very real.
I think lots of things that are in chaos magik is pure science.

Having so many different religions forced down my throat just made me feel confused. I have faith in creator and nature. I find that when I focused and manifested what I wanted or needed, it always came to past. I see through things. I speak it and it is. It may take time but, it happens.. So I'm here learning WHO I AM. I have stopped talking with others about what I believe because if, its not what they believe, then I'm "crazy or stupid". I find that the universe will bring you the knowledge if you are seeking it, humbly. Answers just come to you. So it's OK to incorporate in, what works for said individual? When working spells? Another sentence should be added. Everything is true and false depending on the perspective of the observer. In other words, it is true for as long as you believe it and it exists in the meta physical reality.
Chaos magic is order magic, it is the structuring of chaos. The most powerful practice is to first unlock chaos within by walking the right hand path. The SDA christian system unlocks the strongest chaos.
Aleister Crowley regarded some spiritual experiences of himself as real and objective, such as the Book of the Law, while regarding others like the Goetia as psychological at some point of his life. So far, just as Lon Milo Duquette says, spiritual stuff is better explained by saying that people have a very big head, but some operations requiere people to believe in the lore. I think the Will appears in the way this stuff works once the Holy Guardian Angel is met, thus one is better guided to what works.
The power comes from belief one cannot work within the confines of a belief if their not at least open to it

New to this - enjoyed your video. This sounds somewhat similar to the philosophy of Absurdism (e.g. in the Myth of Sisyphus by Camus). That is, that there is no intrinsic meaning to anything, but we can go ahead and impose our own if we feel like it. (That's a very bad summary of absurdism by the way!) Thanks for the video.
Can you please explain more about how to switch belief systems or wipe the slate clean in order to adopt new beliefs? Is it done the same way than working with negative beliefs and upgrading your belief system? (Example: feeling worthy) Is there a specific technique that you recommend for that?
This may be long but hang in there. I've been doing chaos magick before I knew what it was, my practice changed because my beliefs changed i just got tired of doing it like everyone else. I realized that it all worked and i didn't have to follow the structure of other people beliefs or techniques to get results. We know that most belief systems follow a specific structure of someone else and you don't have to do it that way. Someone I talked to a while back who is also a talented psychic answered my question, I asked him "what can I do to get better results with my magick" and he told me I get better results when I stop following the rules and do it my way. I didn't resonate with or believe half of what I was doing so results were limited. All magickal systems work if you believe they do, think about the fact that all spells in your typical spell book are made up by the person who wrote it or how many cultures have their own spell for money that isn't the same as the next person but it still work. My own example is here in America most people use the color green to represent money in their money spells but in other countries it may be blue or gold and it will still work. I did a money spell but only had a orange candle, well yesterday orange was used for block removal but today it represent money and it worked because I've created my own beliefs and systems based on my own experiments.

Magic is not the way the Lord, Jesus Christ, wants you to go. Magic will only lead to eternal suffering. Revelation 21:9 states, “The cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Jesus loves you and wants you to live forever with Him in Heaven. Not becoming closer to the earth spiritually. Jesus taught not to love the world or anything in it. There is much, much more beyond this world. Why defy Him by trying to become something more through magic in this small place? Jesus loves you!
