I'll take a picture of the sigil I've drawn and throw away the paper. At one point I had one sigil as my lock screen and another as my homescreen, accordingly. This is the middle line that I found most effective after charging in my experience. I'm aware of it and feeding it energy with many glances throughout the day, without giving much conscious thought.

Hello there. I decided to look up sigils and what they do because I've been doodling in my personal journals for years now, but never quite understood what I was drawing. But I feel like I go into a trance like state when I draw them, and I'll go without blinking for a minute at a time. I didn't think much of it, just thought I was drawing something unique until I showed a friend of mine, who is a practicing wiccan, and she said they look like sigils, but because they're not charged, nothing ever came of them. So I simply searched sigils on youtube and it led me here. This video was very informational, and helpful, so I subscribed and plan on watching the rest of your videos! But more than that, I'm curious now what I can do with some of these drawings I create, and maybe I too, can learn to put them to good use.

hey! I am actually a broom closet witch and I find sigils really fascinating. I was wondering if the sigils would get charged if I draw them in a biodegradable piece of paper and burry it in my potted plant. Would that work?
Yes, that would definitely work! I live in an apartment with no yard, so almost any time I need to bury something that's exactly how I do it.

Does anybody use their phones for practicing chaos magic? How do you know when your sigil has been charged what signs of significance do you receive?
I don't use my phone for chaos magick, but I know plenty of people do. There are even websites (maybe an app?) for making sigils. It's kind of hard to describe when you know it's charged. For me, I just feel a sort of mental click and a shift in energy from the physical sigil. Then I just wait for it to manifest. Hopefully that makes sense, sorry I can't be more specific.

This was very informative! Also, do you recommend asking a bunch of people to charge it for you by looking at it? Or will their own interpretation of the sigil get in the way of the working?
Hmmm... this is a tricky question. I have known of people who have drawn sigils into wet cement or drawn them on a sticker that they stuck to a street sign or stop light. This was done with the intention of pulling in energy of anyone who walks by and/or looks at the sigil to charge it. I find this problematic because 1. They're drawing someone else's energy without their consent, and 2. Who knows what kind of energy those people are carrying?
So assuming everyone who you ask understands what they're doing, I don't think the consent of giving energy is an issue. But I would be concerned depending on who you're asking. If it's a coven or people who practice the craft and they know what they're doing, what energetic baggage they're carrying, and how to direct energy/focus attention, I think that would be fine. Non-practitioners might be a little trickier. If I were to do this, I would ask other magical practitioners to charge it by simply directing energy into it and visualizing it glowing brighter and brighter with light. As long as they can focus and avoid sending conflicting intentions into it based on their own interpretation, it'll be fine.

You can give it to her, but be sure to charge it yourself first.

I just did my first sigil yesterday that was made for my ADHD. The intent i started with was something like: I can direct my focus on command
So I've seen somewhere else that another way to charge sigils can be drawing it on a bay leaf, then burning the bay leaf. Maybe using the ashes for spell work (or not).

Yes, this is another great way to charge a sigil! I like to save ashes from everything for future spellwork. Some people like to keep it all separate and divide it by intention, but I just stockpile all my ashes together lol
if you “activate” a sigil with your intention…do all sigils of that same design manifest for whoever comes into contact or draws them if that’s a part of their intention?
Or is a sigil just a visual piece of art until someone activates it through a ritual?
Example
intention: “the wearer or bearer of this sigil is divinely protected.”
Then all who draw this sigil and wear it or bear it on them will be divinely protected? But they don’t need to do any kind of activation ritual?
And
Can I “activate” a sigil for another person who has a permanent version of the sigil on a pendant?
Or do I need to physically possess the item to “activate” the sigil?
I have a digital copy, so I can print or remake and do a burning ritual but does that make that sigil active, and its effects are with the pendant?
And if so, is the “activation” method different from a typical method IE gnosis >burning, burying, blowing, or water dissipating?
okay so i am a baby witch like im litteraly just getting started and barely know anything however i want to put a protection charm on my house because what i like to call "the hallway demon" is becoming aggresive towards me and keeps tring to get closser to me it gives off really bad vibes and my parents dont belive in stuff like this so 1. is it okay for baby witches like myself to make sigils? 2. can i write a sigil on someone else arm. 3. how is blowing or spitting on the sigil going to charg it and if i were to wright a protection sigil on my arm would spitting on my arm sigil or blowing on it charge it? 4. is it okay to wright a sigil on someones arm? im really trying to learn and would like to know how to do it so please reply as soon as you can because i have no idea what im doing and "the hallway demon" is getting more and more aggressive by the minuet.
1. Yes, beginners witches can definitely do sigils. In fact, I usually recommend them as the first type of spell baby witches do.
2. Yes, as long as they are okay with it, you can definitely put a sigil on skin, whether your own or someone else's.
3. Yes, those methods of charging would work. The most important thing to remember with sigils is that if whatever action you're taking to charge them is meaningful to you and you believe that it would work, then it will.

Love the vid. So just to clarify, to make sure I have this correct. -, you first take away the repeating letters then all the vowels, and then how did you get the mantra,? What kind of letters did you cross off for that? It is different than what you broke down first.
I do the same thing (remove repeating letters and vowels) and then just rearrange them until they sound right to me.
Removing vowels is optional. If doing a mantra, I would keep them so the mantra is easier to pronounce.
BTW, Love the idea of a mantra. I can chant that on a bike ride or walk or say it like a prayer before a meal. Or instead of one if you're are in the broom closet and have to attend religious services. services.
Hey! Are sigils safe for people who just want to manifest, and aren’t exactly a witch/baby witch? Since I’m only into intention & manifestation, I wanted to start using these as well but just wanted to make sure.
Yes, absolutely! That's part of what I love about sigils is that they can be used by any sort of magic practitioner or anyone working in manifestation.

Do you want to end the effects of the sigil? If so, if you have drawn it somewhere, just remove it. You can burn it if it's on a piece of paper or wash it off if it's painted on something. If you don't have a physical copy of it, all you have to do it stop powering it. Reassign its meaning or stop putting thought and meditation time into it. As a last resort, since this takes a little more energy, you can always make a counter sigil with the intention of the first one to stop working.

The most important thing to remember with sigils is that if whatever action you're taking to charge them is meaningful to you and you believe that it would work, then it will. So if you feel a strong connection to the element fire, then burn it. If you feel that looking at it every day and keeping it close will power it, then do that. I like to adjust how I charge it and whether I keep it or try to forget it based on what it's for as well, so I recommend factoring that in.
How to undo sigil? I made one during mercury retrograde to protect myself from it, it seem to work, but after retrograde is over I feel a bit off though

Hi there, wanted to ask, if you charge the sigil with excercise, must the sigil be on your person, or in front of you in some way, sometimes the exercise room is in another room or at the gym. A mention would much appreciated. ☺☺☺
Nope! All you need to do is visualize it. I just make sure to study it really well right before I head to my exercise equipment, so I don't forget any details.
Or depending on the complexity, it could be drawn on the skin with sunscreen, or makeup or with eyeliner/lipliner.
White is universal, but there are so many other colors to choose.

Absolutely! I just recommend that you charge it before giving it to them as opposed to having them charge it.

I recommend using her full name in it (this is totally okay) and during the process of creating the sigil and charging it, make sure to visualize her as clearly as possible.

For some people, putting it in water is a great way to charge it, but use your instincts for what will work for you. If you feel like it will just make the ink run and be ineffective, I wouldn't do it that way.
But I love the idea of writing it on the window. Again, instincts come into play here, but I would personally draw it on the window and then charge it there.
Can I carve it in something I'm cooking to charge it?

1. Yes, absolutely! I usually have a few going at a time haha My preference is to prepare them all, but then wait a bit of time between charging each. I typically do one a day if I have several created. It just allows me the time to recharge my own energy and to have the previous sigil and intention out of my mind to solely focus on the next one.

3. You can do either one. I like to pick a style to charge it based on what feels right for that particular manifestation. For example, if I was doing a communication spell with the hopes of better communication in general or more frequent communication, I would send energy into it, meditate with it, then store it in my phone case. But if I was doing a communication spell for someone to call me ASAP, I would probably draw it on paper and burn it. To me, fire symbolizes a sense of urgency in this case. Let me know if I can clarify further.

Im using subliminals to manifest my desires and i read that a subliminal maker is using a sigil to make a LIFA notebook which can instantly manifest your desires for you. I drew a sigil on a piece of paper. Now would it help if i.... spit on the sigil, put the paper with the sigil on it in a cup of water until the paper disintegrates in the water, and then just pour the water down the drain and throw any remaining pieces of paper in the trash? Or should i pour it on the grass of my yard? And how does one focus energy into the sigil? Do i just imagine a flow of energy from my body pouring into it or what?
I would write out the numbers: one VS 1. More energy to present to the universe.

Is there a simpler way to do a sigil? I'm afraid I won't remember how to draw this unless its right in front of me, and I want one that I can use where ever I happen to be.
The easiest way to do it is to just make sure you're only using one of each letter in your intention. Then you just improvise the rest of the drawing by combining them. But! There are also online sigil makers that only require you to type in your intention. Those are great if you're in a hurry.

how often do you have to charge a sigil?
Kind of depends on the purpose for the sigil, in my practice. If I just want to manifest one thing, I'll just charge it once and let it go. If a good amount of time has passed and it hasn't manifested, I'll rework it and create a new sigil or try a different ritual. However, if it's something ongoing (for example, I have a sigil for spell manifestation on my altar), I'll charge it up every few months or if its energy just feels stale.

What about changing the remaining letters into Runes and creating a complex bind rune? That should work as long as the focus is on the original intention is maintained. Right?
That would also work if the phrase was in a different language or if you created your own cipher. Right?
Sounds like the people feeding their sigils (as opposed to forgetting them) may be using them as Servitors?
They're similar, yes! Servitors are more autonomous in their workings though whereas when I keep feeding a sigil, I prefer to keep it under reigns and don't "bring it to life", so to speak. But I've definitely created servitors after graduating them up from a fed sigil.

Gnosis is a completely clear mental state, when all other thoughts are pushed out aside from your one focal point.

Yes, absolutely! Just make sure to double, triple, quadruple check your intention phrasing before making the sigil. Sooo permanent lol

They can do whatever task you assign them in your intention. For example, if you want more energy you can use "I have more energy."

It really depends on the belief system of the individual creating the sigil. There are some who believe it is the power of their will making the change--this is typically the main belief in Chaos Magick--but others who work with spirits, angels, fae, and/or gods may use sigils to petition them.

There are programs that create sigils using the 9 square (numerology) and Witches wheel (letters). I've seen ones that create a tune that could be hummed.

You need to charge a sigil with a power scource I suggest using the Orion constellation to charge it rather then yourself.
I wanted to make my own but then I realized… What if you want to manifest something, but you accidentally harm someone? Let's say you make a sigil to protect your book from prying people. Imagine something bad happens to a person reading your book? What if something small you manifest, has bigger or negative consequences?
This is a great question and one that is actually highly debated in the community. One example that floats around a lot is what if you do a money spell and then a grandparent dies soon after and the spellcaster inherits a ton of money from them. Personally, I've never seen this happen or experienced it myself in any spells or sigils I've done, and I just feel that whatever is controlling these events is not going to do something so malicious. However, some people do feel more comfortable including in either their spell intention or sigil phrasing something along the lines of "no harm comes to anyone".
It is my personal belief that intention plays a major role here. Let's say you make a sigil with the phrase "I am the only person who reads this book", and you do it with the intention in mind that others will not notice the book or not find it interesting enough to open, then that's what will manifest. But if you charge the sigil with the same phrasing while angry and thinking of terrible things happening to anyone who tries to open the book, then that is what you will manifest.

What I experienced was a fear that something bad could happen in spite of my good intention and I was afraid that just by thinking of that possibility I created a pathway for it to manifest. Your answer helped me and I will do a bit more research before creating more sigils and do it once I feel comfortable doing it. I don't think that the universe is looking to manifest our desires in terrible ways but someone did say that it takes the path of least resistance and that makes sense. Thank you again!
