    Hi, Hearth! very well said, Everyone has their personalized way of creating sigils, This might have different influences from different cultures and traditions. I typically do mine with Chinese characters and oracle bone scripts because this lets me connect with my ancestors on manifesting, cloud writing is also one of the most expressive ways of drawing different characters as ink strokes have different expressions.
    Each one of us is unique in a way, this goes also to our path. We all have different roads to traverse, different paths to walk, but by learning different ways and techniques from other people lets us expand our knowledge and understanding in their own way that can also help us integrate into our own.
    Thank You again, Hearth!
    May peace and love bless all sentience.

      i use quite a lot of different ones but i like the one where you convert the letters into numbers and make a circle out of them and connect the dots. i often try to see how my phrase/word/sentence looks in different techniques so i use the witches wheel or the narZart(not sure if that's the exact name) which is always interesting to see the different results. i've been also trying out to visualize and draw a sigil out of the intention, not really about the words and letters but more about the emotion i feel. i also wanted to ask what kind of app you were using for the sigil drawing, i'd love to try it out!

      I don't know if it still counts as a sigil but I created symbols representing a person, place, or idea. Then the shape of the container as you called it represents the body, mind/spirit, or space. Outside is a shape or symbol that represents the action I want. I basically created a symbol-based language with nouns, adjectives, and verbs all condensed into one sigil.

    I never vibed with grid OR non grid sigil making, but I have found amazing results in automatic writing for sigils! Just meditating with my intent in mind and seeing what comes out when I open my eyes. Very relaxing too since I'm very ornery over the way something looks, greatly recommend giving it a try for anyone not connecting with these other methods!

    I have combined many different techniques in my sigil making. For instance everything in my user profile is there to serve a purpose as part of the overall sigil.
    From the sigil drawing to the background and so on. And it gains energy whenever I talk or think about it or when others notice it.
    Also it can just passively gain energy just from the tech and energy used to display it next to my comment.
    But this is a pretty long term project as well. For more short term sigils i will either cross out vowels & duplicates & then combine them to make a shape. Or use a witches wheel outline.
    Then I have often drawn them in ink on my hand where it will fade with my daily activities abs the slow destruction is the charge for it.

  • @_tripalong
    @_tripalong Před 3 měsíci

    My first couple of sigils were made just by crossing vowels and duplicates off an english sentence and combining the letters. No containers, no artistry, just the straight lined capital letters. One of them looked like a magical key, I loved it so much 😊 But I love the idea of translating to runes, as I'm very drawn to them and have used bindrunes as well in spellcraft. I can't wait to try them! Although theban would probably make prettier sigils bc it's filled with beautiful curves and all.

  • @micheller3251
    @micheller3251 Před 2 lety +2

    I sometimes incorporate letters, but I very often use pictural symbolism and draw variants of certain symbols combined until I feel satisfied. I find that people rely a bit too much on letters, and knowing how many people couldn't read or had no reason to know how to read across history, how many posts and signs do not need text to be understandable, I don't see the point of restricting myself to letters and numbers. Also having a formation in electroacoustic I'm used to making graphic transcriptions in which I basically represent sound as whatever shape I feel represents it well... I just apply the same principle to magick

    I personally mix and match techniques according to what I think they "feel" like. For protection I'd use a mirror technique, since it feels very "secure" due to the symmetry if that makes sense, but for things like love, creativity or spirituality I'd take a more intuitive and organic approach, trying to associate it with other symbols (like incorporating an infinity symbol into a sigil that represents creativity, as my creativity has no bounds).

    I use multiple and over lay the sigils to make a completed one. Sometimes I use a similar technique as mentioned in the video and blend it with grids. Other times I use two grids and blend those. One thing that never worked for me was removing the vowels, especially when using a grid. The key used has all the letters, so why only use a partial key...But that's just me. lol

      I’ve learned it in her first video, I believe? But I personally don’t follow it, I create my sigils using my intuition or a free form type of way, especially more so since your practice is your own. The channel “TheWitchofWanderlust” has an amazing video on how to make them, which is a technique I personally follow, not strictly, but it is the way I found myself actually making them and it’s more freely and creative and intuitive for me personally. She also has another video with “The Witch of Southern Light” and they talk about the differences and similarities of how their sigil creations still connect with the original phrase they started with.

    :O blows my mind someone told you that you're doing something wrong! IMO you're one of the first witches on YT and I know you've done research and have practiced for years! (

    Thanks for the video! I much prefer this method.
    I personally like to count the letters J, V, W, and Y as vowels in my own practice. This is because J started as an accented I, V was originally a vowel when the letter first came into being, and because W and Y are both vowels in the Welsh alphabet (even though I'm currently doing my practice in English).
