    Today we're talking about how you may differentiate between a dream and astral projection. These are, as always, simply my ways of identifying the differences that work well within my practice, hopefully, they can act as a springboard for developing your own ways of separating the two.

    This was really interesting to hear. I have never had a dream that I can remember where people were faceless, I had no idea that was a thing people experienced. My dreams have always been extremely vivid

      Yea kinda hard to tell cause my dreams are extremely vivid & lucid and I don't always wake up when scary stuff is happening, and these dreams or whatever they are feel extremely real....I have an amputated leg and in my vivid/lucid dream I was like is this reality shifted or something?? Cause I was able to walk normal again with my real leg and I felt my leg and saw it and it was extremely real, I was with my husband in the dream going to a friend's house then after were walking up to the door then I wake up....🤷‍♀️

    I have memories of astral projection and flying around my house at 3-5 years old and possibly also when I was a baby looking down at my self in a crib with relatives there that died not long after. I told my mom of the astral travel when I was a teen. She said she did it also when a young child, she said we are not fully attached to our bodies yet when that young so it was more common then, but not everyone remembers it. And she said there was no way I could remember some of the things I told her. I have done it since , but not alot while awake. I also wear or keep certain crystals around me for protection and grounding

    The only astral projecting I’ve done definitively is when I’ve had sleep paralysis. It’s always on accident. I’m trying to wake up myself from the sleep paralysis and I end up just wiggling out of my body. One time I did have a spirit pull me out of my body by my foot. It took so much energy to get back and hold myself to my body. Because it always happens during sleep paralysis I’ve never been able to enjoy it and always feel terrified. I wish I could do it without the fear.

      I had sleep paralysis for 2 years straight. Sometimes id get jolted out of a lucid/astral state just to be thrusted into a sleep paralysis episode. Other times id get an episode, and if you ignore it and go back to sleep it puts you in an astral state. But sometimes during sleep paralysis id be under my blankets yet im staring at my room like those blankets were see through. Those times had to be astral projection. Because how else could i see my room through my blankets

    This is very interesting. I've never astral projected, but my regular dreams tend to be much more vivid and detailed than you described yours. I think it's really interesting how different people dream in different ways - for instance, my dad dreams in black and white, but with sound and music. I dream in vivid color with scent, texture, etc but all sound is 'telepathic' for me as you described. My brother dreams about things going on in his life, whereas I only dream about periods of life that have ended (Old schools, old houses, old boyfriends - I almost never have dreams set in the present). Also, I've had dreams of future events, but distinctly in dream form - for instance, I dream of velociraptors and the next day I see someone playing a velociraptor video game, but my brain translates the future into random tidbits just like it does with the past. Also, my brother usually has mundane dreams, but occasionally has extremely detailed, memorable, vivid dreams that I can only describe as 'visions' because they tend to depict significant and very strange stories or people, often with themes that end up occurring in real life later on (but still not astral projection, because they are still very avant-garde and abstract). I think dreams are fascinating. Sorry for the tldr :)

    For me AP starts in middle of night while in bed, on my back, while I feel wide awake as the separation / floating takes place and as I successfully float out ( I don't succeed at this all the time ) then I can move freely , usually out my window into the sky. I consider that an AP, but if I find my self in middle of no where, then I see that more of a dream and Lucid Dream if I become aware I'm in a dream while in a random place. 🧚‍♀🧚‍♂🧚

    I remember one instsnce as a child I realize now was astral projection. I was in my own bedroom exactly the way it would look irl but it was bright in there unlike it would be if I was just awake at night, and I was at the opposite end of the bed than I would be if I was just experiencing sleep paralysis. I remember seeing a spirit that was basically a combination of the Pale Man from Pan's Labrynth and Krumm from AAAHH!! Real Monsters with giant human ears. It came in from inside my closet, walked towards me, and talked to me but I couldn't quite understand what it was saying. It scared me really bad at the time-- especially since the spirit looked so disturbing, but looking back at it I don't think the spirit actually meant me any harm.

    Worth noting, it's possible for some entities from the otherworlds to visit you via dreams, although I would assume it's very rare. I sadly haven't learned how to astral travel, but I have really cool and vivid dreams. About a year ago, I had a dream that took place in an unknown location and was visited by a REALLY amazing entity (I won't say who it was but she was amazing!!). I could tell she was real, I could feel her energy was different and she acted on her own accord, which like you said in your video isn't normal for dreams. She never spoke to me and I guess she visited out of curiosity, but I must have given her a weird impression because I got SO excited seeing her, I ran up to her and just squealed with so much happiness, it was honestly funny. I haven't seen her since then, but I still think of her from time to time and always think highly of her. I hope if I ever astral travel or maybe when I pass on, I can visit her again.

    I've noticed when I astral project, everything is dim in colour and if I am in the living room, it's exactly the same, yet a few things will be different or out of place. In dreams, I can somehow read and write, yet people claim you can't do that in your dreams. I tend to also see different places I visit, but without brands or something is off & a lot of times I've dreamt of places I had no idea I would work at, in the future.

    I encountered some sort of shadow being 2x in my old house while astral projecting years ago (both times around the same time). The 1st time, it came up behind me and grabbed me. I got away from it then saw it going down the hallway to my bedroom. I knew it was going to my physical body. I instantly woke up (every time I come back too fast I have sleep paralysis). The 2nd time, I saw it hovering over my physical body. I went back inside my body, opened my eyes. It was holding me down while hovering above my physical body.

      I see them in my place have seen them since childhood one was leaning over my mother while she slept, turned its head noticed me noticing it , it slowly stood up stepped back and disintegrated intio the darknerss of the room.
      for myself they are just curious, the last encounter I have had was while I was laying in my bed half asleep about mid last February, one was in the corner of my Bach suite, it was like a child or teen on their hands and knees, it crawled up the wall, ran on all fours across my ceiling until it was right over my head, looked down at me, then flipped around as to land on my face and even though I am protected from such things hurting me I still startley launched out of my bed, then said "that was Not cool" very loudly ( pretty much shouted it because of the adrenalin rush lol) at 3 am and then nuked my place of all spirits, and then reset the ground rules of myself , my place and building I live in .
      I have never been physically harmed by anything, not even very negative or what people may call Demonic spirits it is mostly mind games,. maybe shaking ther bed or lights flickery things falling off a wall or on rare occations a chair will fall over backward like it was teetering,they can give you that dread and pure fear and draining feeling also like you are walking through a thick black sludge sometimes a little hard to breah. I just tell them to go because most are like school yard bullies that need to be put in there place and if they don't leave or go by my rules I tell them I am nuking the area last chance ,then remove them.
      I don't like doing this because in all my years of doing these typoes of things I havent been able to just remove the negative ,it also removes all spirits good or bad , the good ones do sometimes eventually come back or at least show me they are around but the negative one are gone

    LOVE LOVE LOVED this video....you are one of the rare people ive seen describe an AP so clearly. I myself have been avoiding it due to how taxiing it is for me....after you may get a super burst of energy like adreniline ...but it soon wears off and you may wanna sleep for 2 days....Wish you woulda mentioned getting into AP for the first time some...and one of things that stood out for me was the extreme realness of even how a carpet or grass feel on your feet inside an astral and etc..so much more reality detailed and unforgettable like normal - lucid dreaming.

    I've astral projected a couple of times, that I can remember. One thing that seems to be different between my dreams and astral projecting is that... My dreams are *far* less vivid. Not just with images, but I can't sense much of anything, my intuition is significantly duller. But I've had astral projection experiences wherein my intuition is far more vivid, and the area around me will be extremely familiar. There won't be a single item out of place. Meanwhile in dreams.... It's like my brain has trouble creating an exact replica of the area I should be familiar with (or it's an area I just won't be familiar with at all).
    One of my first astral projection experiences, at least, it doesn't feel like a normal dream, I was with my folks on vacation. We had just gotten back to our hotel room and I was bone tired. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep that night and when I did... I was no longer in bed, but standing in front of the doorway, staring hard at the ground as this growling noise rose around me. My hands were balled into fists and the growling noise sent a primal fear through me. Even at the time, I wasn't afraid of dogs, but something about that growling just sent me into immediate fight or flight mode.
    I snapped out of it and found myself in bed, the cover over my head and breathing fast. I was still scared to death for a while after that... so yeah *sweats*

    the key note for astral projection, or vivid dreaming for me has always been the keeping of a journal
    I immediately improved my memory of dreams by starting a dream journal, separate from my normal journaling.
    astral projection is different for me , hard to explain other than I cant quite get completely away from my body, no matter how far I go, so Ive never felt unsafe in my projection; its almost like a safety protocol Ive taught myself over time
    best advice I can give on either is to develop muscle memory reactions to help defend yourself from unwanted interactions;
    "I will be adamant against all attacks", or actually go through the process of developing an armor system that is there , but not seen. most of these ideas should be developed over at least a 3 month period, and do your best to stay out of trouble before you have fully developed your defenses

    One thing I have noticed between a dream and astral projection is that I can feel when I’m trying to get back into my body when something bad is happening or about to happen and it’s a real struggle. Like, I can feel a pull and I’m trying to get there but it takes some time and then I usually can’t exactly wake up for what feels like a while- I lie there, I can see it, and keep telling myself in my mind that it’s time to wake up but it’s SO hard sometimes. It can be scary.

    Not sure if I’ve truly accomplished astral projection period. But I can tell you there have been many dreams that would come true at a later time whether it’s days or years later. Some good and some bad, but obviously not all of my dreams come true. I can’t say for sure what causes this, or if they’re truly what one would call premonitions. I just know that I’ve had these dreams since early childhood after a severe traumatic experience. Sorry to get off topic, love your videos! 🖤💚

      Premonitions are a different type of dream work, traditionally sensitive people were known to be able to occasionally have them. And sensitive people are often those with a trauma. In the past people were often afraid, when premonition dreams happened, it used to be a huge thing. Also, I ve heard from village people premonitions were often quite unpleasant. I personally prefer things which are under control, so in the case of future foreseeing a divination or tarot, or astrology...

      I did his twice in my lifew the first time was when Iwas in my teens and my car broke down , back then I only knew the very basic things on cars like simple tune ups ( this was late 1970s so things were allot simpler back then) and oil changes, I got my car pushed home with another vehicle and a tire pushing me for the Miles home it was late so I went to bed exhausted , got up the next morning walked to my car with two wrenches I think 9/16th and 1/2" and removed the disturbater pulled the broken gear off the bottom of it, put a new one on, and put it back together started my car.... then I woke up with a WTF was that, so I did what the dream showed me and sure enough the gear was only half there so I then got a ride and got a replacement gear and fire my car up then sold it lol.
      now that was one of the most tt powerful dreams \ premonition dreams or GuidanceI have had Iwas litereally ther doing everything I could feel and smell in tha tdream . the other thing was back then I smoked allot of stupid sticks so it actually could have been my subconscious telling me how to fix the problem, but I have never done or seen what was done in my dream ever before. after that happened I really started to look into Dreams and Astral projection and spiritual comunication.

    I have had experienced this. I just know by the feeling i get when i wake up, and my the rhythm of the dream itself. Usually my Astroprogection dreams are very slow moving like real life, i go to other universe, and i get messages from dead love ones, or things that will happen in the future. I know its not a dream because of the feeling i get. I dream often, but i dont astroproject often. Only sometimes. :)

      for example, nightmares about the sky or sometimes space in general is one of the things i encounter but the way it looks would be beautiful as an art piece lol or sometimes i dream about video game related things that would be neat to create (including rollercoaster tycoon bc i used to be obsessed w that game haha)

    I've never astral projected. As far as I know through my life. I have had dreams long ago where I'd be walking and then just let myself walk off a cliff. Jolted awake in my bed right when I would be hitting the ground. About a couple weeks ago I had a dream where some sort of free-for-all hunger games event was about to happen. And before I could do anything, someone came up behind me and slit my throat. I didn't wake up and I wasn't scared. All I could think about was the fact that I wasn't ready and it was unfair that I was being eliminated already lol. I didn't wake up though. I believe I've lucid dreamt. One of the biggest examples I have was I was scrolling through the pics on my phone and came across a pic that I knew I shouldn't have on my phone. For context, I hung out with a friend who used to be a huge paranormal/ghost skeptic and she told me how her and some friends went to "creepy" places because she wanted something to really spook her into believing ghosts were real. She said that one place she ended up was an abandoned house like the people who lived there just up and left one day. Everything left behind. She said the group felt fine until the went upstairs in the bedroom and found a "demonic-looking" portrait painted on the slanted ceiling. While she was telling me this, I envisioned what that was looking like to me. She said they bolted the place because they felt like something was watching them and would try and follow them if they gave it the chance. The sped off and her then BF lifted up the back of his shirt and revealed three long scratches down his back. It was a very eerie experience she was telling me about. Later that night I had the dream about my "envisioned painting" being in my phone photos. It felt like I got shook to my core and was panicking about trying to get as far away from the images. I wanted to get out of there so bad that I woke myself up (I didn't open my eyes bc I knew I would psych myself out after that.) As I was laying there awake. I felt like something was grabbing my knee and pulling my body. So I internally was freaking out more. I didn't move my body bc I didn't want to alert it I was awake while I tried to figure out what was going on and what to do. I then tried to wiggle my toes to see how much control I had and found that I couldn't move my body. Long story short, it wasn't until later in the day that I realized I was having sleep paralysis. I never knew about it before and never experienced it from any other scary dream before.

    All I can say is that astral projection really is the way you described it; from how it feels and looks right to how spirits are when they notice you. But I'm also careful not to enter people's houses, because some of them can notice you and when they have malicious intent, they can trap you or lay a trap for you next time you visit. So, when I notice that I'm on my neighbor's property for instance, I turn back right away. And yes, I have been threatened by an entity once to never visit that particular place again. I never forgot how terrifying that felt and still to this day see it very clearly. Truth be told, the moment I visited that place, I knew that something was not right and felt evil and that a lot of bad things were happening there. Luckily, there was female spirit there who warned me and helped me get away. So yeah, really need to work on protection, because I really don't know when it might happen. What I do try to do is go to sleep with the intention that I will be alert of danger no matter where I go and practice how to defend myself. But thanks for the info. Really interesting and confirmed what I've experienced; you really can tell the difference especially when you wake up, you just feel different also.

    I waited all day to get to see this! I adore your videos and that you recommend books. I've been practicing for 30+years and I'm a little concerned about the "fast food" witchcraft on other channels and platforms. Having read books and keeping them for reference is as important to me as leaving behind a grimoire and book of shadows for my family and friends.

    This is very interesting and I appretiate you doing this when you did because I am a beginner witch and I just finished learning about dreams, lucid dreaming, and dream journals in my high school Intro to Psychology class, so the notes still being fresh from that class has helped me understand the differences between dreams and astral projection slightly more than if I hadn't taken the class. Astral Projection sounds interesting and I think I may want to try doing it one day, but I will follow your advice and wait until I have had experience with making protection charms and cleansing and banishing rituals to keep myself safe. Thank you again, Hearth. Your knowledge is always appreciated.

    I've astral projected using dreams as a platform. It seems the most common thing for me to experience and typically I don't set the intention -it just occurs. Sometimes the energies I've encountered are ghosts of humans and other times things that are completely different. Dreaming dreams I've dreamed before ---while I dream them I typically have some level of lucidity -hearing my own thoughts and having the ability to consciously process that I've seen a place before. Spatial awareness of where objects were sitting, what kind of architecture I'm standing in and how I moved through space is an every morning recall. I don't ever recall seeing faceless people in my dreamscapes. I do dream of people that recognize me and in some cases, they tell me who I was before -as in my name was "Jennifer" or "Lydiah" and that I was a particular child's mother. Some of it may be past life recall too. Your right though, the lines really blur. Sometimes we obtain information outside our consciousness and that information plays out in the dreamscape. Thanks for the post.

    That is absolutely the cutest top on you, and your hair looks beautiful that way. Great video, you explained the difference beautifully. Many people portray Astral Projection as just a beautiful magical, almost orgasmic experience. Their explanations are very rose colored glasses if that makes sense, but you brought it down to earth explaining that it may not always be pleasant.
    I have experienced that extreme exhaustion in the morning a couple times and I didn’t know why. I can remember a lot of running. I watch some of these paranormal ghost hunting videos on CZcams when people get these terrifying Spiritual Attachments and Hauntings I wonder now if that’s how some of those events started. If these people astral projected and accidentally brought something unpleasant home with them. Definitely would explain a few things. Thank You for doing this one. Really enjoyed it.

    Fascinating! I know I astral projected as a child but not as an adult. I do however have lucid dreams. At first, I think it's just a very vivid, colorful dream, but then suddenly I become aware and get a thrill sensation; especially now because every time it happens, my beautiful husband, who passed away in 2020, always shows up. I can touch him, hear his voice when he speaks to me, and feel his embrace. Just before I wake up, he sometimes says things to me right next to my ear.

    My dreams are insane. They can be whole movies basically. Very detailed and make sense. Everyone in the dream has a face, voice etc. it never seems vague or blank XD I never have those types. I’ve had whole conversations. That I can remember. I’ll have a whole story and know peoples backgrounds and life stories… they don’t switch up very much. I meet people I’ve never seen irl. And I can usually control what I do in it, and if I can’t I’ll realize I’m dreaming and I’ll take over the dream and change it. So my dreams are ultra detailed, clear colors, make sense. Etc.. maybe I astral project a lot. Or maybe I just have adhd XD i have prophetic dreams sometimes. Like my moms death

  • @vespertinedreams
    @vespertinedreams Před 2 lety +2

    I really enjoyed this video, and found very interesting but it's also made me think about my own experiences, which are vastly different than your own.
    I'm a very active dreamer, I've experienced so many insanely miraculous things while being asleep and interacting with my dream scape. You describe your dreams as being hallow, like it's computer generated and all the people in it are just copies of vague attributes from your waking life. I have a completely different experiences, my dreams are extremely vivid and there are many reoccurring locations, people, and even story-lines. When I have a dream with a story-line that I've experienced in a different dream, I can recollect memories from that dream and have continuity with the current one. I go to different states, countries, flying on planes even though I've never flown before. I meet celebrities, I see people I haven't seen in years, and I can make out every little detail of their face. I feel way more deeply in dreams, I can hear music, I see in vivid colors. Sometimes I dream that I'm walking around outside in the grass, and I can feel my bare feet pushing into the mud and the rain drops on my skin. I lucid dream often as well, and without trying, and sometimes my lucid dreams will manifest while I'm still in that in-between period of sleep and awake. During this, in the dream state, I cannot move or open my eyes well and I move at a snail's pace trying to react to something happening in my dream but in the dream I'm always in my bedroom where I'm sleeping in real life. I take this as a form of sleep-paralysis but it doesn't at all feel like normal sleep paralysis, where my awake and alert mind is trapped in my sleeping body. It feels like something different. Usually when I experience sleep paralysis, I have the normal experience of not being able to move but my mind is completely awake and taking in information from my surroundings in my waking life. It doesn't last long because I've learned to breath deeply, and fall back into a sleep state and it usually thrusts me right into a lucid dream which is always nice. But when I experience this in-between state where, in my dream, I can't move or speak or talk very loudly and I can hardly open my eyes.. it feels different. I know I'm dreaming, but it's like I'm still in the transition between sleep and awake but not like sleep paralysis feels. I don't know how else to explain it. If anyone has any similar experiences I'd like to hear about them!

    @micheller3251 Před 2 lety

    When I get extremely stress, my dreams get so realistic that I feel exactly like you described your post-astral-projection mental fatigue... except I know it's dreaming and not astral projection because it's always daytime and it's essentially just a normal day with the same people from my regular life, with the same tasks at the same places. I also don't remember it as a dream, and more as "it happened like a regular day, I just can't remember exactly when". All of my senses also tend to be very sharp in dreams, except I sometimes go blind or can't open my eyes.
    I really want to astral project, I'm curious to live it myself and be able to trully understand the difference! I feel it could also help me differenciate easier between real memories and dream ones (but I'll have to try it to know it)

I don't know if I have very vivid dreams or if I'm slipping into astral realms unwillingly, but my dreams are a daily occurrence, they are usually pretty strange, very detailed, pretty long and coherent... It is also very easy for me to fall asleep, and I start dreaming very fast as well, like it can happen in 5-10 minutes from falling asleep, and sometimes I'll doze off for no more then a minute and I'm already seeing something, lol. I do think that memories from past lives can slip into dreams as well, I'm pretty sure I had it happen a few times.

      Not to discount your experiences, but you may want to look into narcolepsy first. It can cause you to fall asleep frequently and very easily, enter the dreaming state faster than normal, and even hallucinate. Dreaming very fast and vividly like that is a sign of narcolepsy so a sleep study might be beneficial to exclude that possibility

    I rarely Remember my dreams, But I think I get what you mean by “faceless people”. Like you know in the dream it’s your sister/friend/teacher but they dont necceassarly look like themselves, but you are not troubled about that in any way.
    In my dreams people dont have voices either - when they speak, they dont move their lips, but I hear the words, even though there’s no tone of voice - also I never speak in a dream.
    The dreams where I do speak are different: Like all dark space with no direction and usually only one other person there (not the same person)- those dreams are hard to get out of.

    I can project while awake, though it’s very draining.
    Though I’ve found during my “lucid” dreams, I still interact with others including my coven, I supposed this is considered lucid dreaming because I can change things on whichever realm I’m on currently, even the very foundation of the realm, but my mentor and I are able to interact easily along with our coven.
    And I remember everything. People are only faceless until I meet them in real life. Once I’ve met them in person the dream will reoccur but the person(s) will be unveiled.
