- In this episode, I ride more through the Cederberg area, after which I enter the South African Karoo. A semi-desert, stretching for thousands of kilometres through South Africa. Magnificent scenery and I have to give full throttle to Savannah to make it through here and reach a place to stay for the night. After scaling the Ouberg Pass, I descend towards Sutherland, the star gazing capital of South Africa!

My favourite Noraly clip of all time., the moment in this video when she has reached the top of the pass, removes her helmet, takes hold of her massive sandwich, turns her face to the sky and spreads her arms wide to both celebrate and absorb the earth and air and wonder around her. A moment few of us ever experience, when our heart and soul are open and free and full of awe and appreciation for life. Thank you Noraly!💕👍🏻😁👏
Noraly has retained the wonder we all experience as children.
Wholeheartedly second that.
Hehe at that moment I thought that we all stand there with her. what a great episode .... again. ;-) Thank you!
South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries to visit guys, and we are so lucky to live here. Literally, the world in one country. You name it, we have it...Come experience it for yourself. Noraly, thumbs up again, showing off our country, and more importantly your courage, determination and trust.
I felt that jubilation. I would have done the same! Whoo-hoo!
i'm full of admiration for this girl, so inspirational. little can stop her, and she does everything with a smile on her face. officially my favorite channel of all time.
Ya(dutch accent)yes 100% agree. When I see this solo adventurer & think about my own desires to jump on my bike & go for a trip away somwwhere I'm inspired.Question:How does she do it.I mean this is Olympic!

Yeeeeah she deserves all her support for sure.
I’m surprised this hasn’t blow up. Overall quality is amazing and the journey is even better. Makes me so excited to get my 250 Rally out of the shop
At this point, you know that Noraly is now one of the top Adventure content creators in the world.
Astig talaga mga adventure nya
yeah she is..
And here she stayed at one of the most popular adventure riding destinations.
People are attempting to copy her style .I am sorry for them , you can not reinvent the wheel , VIVA NORALY VIVA !! I am never ever alone or bored anymore as long as I can tune into ITCHIE BOOTS , as I lay my head down at night .ps.

@@paulvanniekerk1027 true ive seen this other girl try her style but she unfortunately will never do it like noraly does it
@Noraly: Passing that gate must be your toughest “border crossing” to date! 😁😂
What can one add that hasn't been said a hundred times? A big thumbs up for the lady with the bluest blue eyes, the brightest smile and for whom no obstacle is too large! I think we are all a little in love with you!

I am sure that everything has been said about this `Wonder Woman` in the comments below but I would just like to say that I have learned more about the world and it`s people from watching every episode of her 5 series, than I ever did at school. Long may she continue to show us what a wonderful place we live in and hope that she always stays safe.
At the top of that pass, the wind blowing, lunch in your hand, you've never looked so happy, so free, so beautiful. Ride on, Noraly.
Didn't see the comma before "lunch" and was expecting the wind to bring her lunch
What a feat! Yet again, you have proven no snakes, gates nor ostrich eggs can deter you! Well-done! 🙌🏻
And technically, you didn’t cross the desert alone cos you brought all of us with you! 👍

Nothing stops Noraly. The scenery is wonderful, the adventure is exiting, the riding is fun, but it’s Noralys personality and attitude that makes everyone want to watch.
Yes, her positive and cheerful attitude is so refreshing and enjoyable! I don't know anyone personally who is quite like that.
Well said!
Not to mention that really cute accent.
i agree the same
1000% absolutely yes!
What is left to be said about our Noraly? Who else, in less than 30mins, can make you smile, laugh out loud, wince and grab the edge of your seat, say wow at the scenery and production, bring a tear to your eye and leave you feeling good? Thank you Noraly.
B.T.W. despite the chance of getting stuck in a fence and eaten by lions, falling hundreds of feet off a narrow mountain road, encountering deadly cobras. the greatest danger was dropping that sandwich. Six weeks in plaster if it had landed on her foot.
There are pretty much no big predators in Karoo. You'd have to be really unlucky to run into a jackal...
I looked up Roosterkoek. It's bread that is cooked on the grill, not surprising as we know how much Noraly likes bread. This video may be my favorite of the 300+ Itchy Boots videos I've watched. The sandwich scene was pure joy!
😂😂😂😂😂
I love that you can travel such enormous distances on unincorporated roads and still keep on track, amazing back country scenes.
The drone footage is spectacular
Yes it looks like Colorado
Yes.. with music that's fantastic
It looks like the Veluwe.
👍👍. You are an incredible woman. Truly one of a kind. Adventurous, courageous, engaging, great strength of character. Thank you so much for including us in your journey. We armchair travelers owe you a great debt of gratitude. I think you may run out of world to explore before you run out of energy and verve. Thank you Noraly.
"armchair travelers" so funny.
so well written.
If CZcams has it’s version of the Emmy’s I nominate this episode. “Oh look a cobra. Let’s turn around.”
Also my favorite channel. 67 years old lived ln south africa my whole life. Seen more of my country and others than I have ever seen and most likely will ever see. Thank you for your wonderful channel. Fellow biker😊

A new Itchy Boots video? Immediately hit the like button, then watch.
For anyone unfamiliar with her smallest bike in the world, it still weighs about 320 lbs /145 kg without luggage. It is quite a work out wrestling one through a gate.
Imagine having a bigger one, she would have struggled a bit and then some..
Her previous Royal Enfield Himalayan was heavier at 435 lb.
A gate whose sign reads "NO ENTRY / PRIVATE ROAD" hahahahahahahahahha
Aerial shot of Karoo is like a John Ford or Sergio Leone western. High drama as Savannah squeezes through gate and meets a cobra. Snakes like a quiet desert road to sun themselves. Great sandwich happy dance.
Good morning from Canada! It’s Friday, the end of the week, and it’s Itchy Boots time! Let’s pour a coffee, sit back and enjoy. Norlay said on FB that this episode “is one of my personal favorites.” If that’s the case, I can be certain it will also be one of my favorites. The big question is, will it top Wednesday’s unforgettable ride on the beach video? Let the adventure begin Noraly, “Let’s go!”
Friday afternoon here in Sweden. And now the weekend starts.
Good morning from Australia, it’s Saturday here:)
@@Erik-Berggren Fredagar är alltid rolig!
But as a native South African, living in Sweden, watching these videos, I am longing back to my stunning country.

And what's the verdict? Did it trump the beach video? I think it did...
@@cedricpieterse7280 You know it's actually pretty easy to read Afrikaans when you are Dutch, so I notice.
Noraly sees cobra and turns around to take a closer look. I would have found out just how fast Savanah could go.
My sentiments precisely.
That is by the looks of it a Cape Cobra ,or as it is called a Geel slang, very poisonous, and can be found throughout a vast stretch of South Africa ,it has a very strong neuro toxin .They grow up to 1.8m long
After seeing the 'Cobra', many of us would have increased the speed of the bike !
South African living in the Netherlands here... this clip makes me very lus to get some dust on my velskoen.
Wow, the drone footage, editing, and music as you crossed that desert plateau, it was awe inspiring. South Africa is far more beautiful and dynamic than I ever thought. No wonder this was one of your favourite days ever based on what glimpse of it we got to experience. You never cease to amaze and inspire, and yes “Life is good....”

Btw who shot that drone shot wasn't she alone?
@@krishgurung She's doing both: riding & flying the drone. I reckon she sets up the drone and then starts riding, her video & editing skills are also seriously impressive.
@@nagak112 That's what I think too. It's just amazing!
South Africa is the only country with the world combined in one country. Alps in the Drakensberg, French winelands in the Cape, deserts in the Karoo, cornfields in the Free State, and the list goes on. This is truly the whole world in one country! Stay safe Noraly!
Two countries Bro, New Zealand has the lot too.
Peru
I disagree with you. I am U.S. and live in Ecuador. No country can match the diversity of Ecuador, high Andes, Amazon jungle, Pacific coastal, Galapagos. I love Peru, have been 13 times, but ti cannot match Ecuador because no Galapagos. I love New Zealand, have been twice a total of two months, my favorite country but cannot match Ecuador, no Amazon and no Galapagos.
@@peterwrench4416 ...Love NZ, but hasn't got the variety - No deserts, no tropical climate, no fynbos, no snakes, no Big 5, too many restrictions for free adventure riding

The drone footage is fantastic!
What a great experience to feel like I’m riding with you. What a brave, pioneer you are. Appreciate your willingness to share your adventures.
It's a fascinating experience to see the roads we ride on weekends through Noraly's eyes and videos. Sometimes I think we're guilty of being a little blase here in South Africa and not appreciating the splendour we call home and the access to beautiful adventure riding, like the Tankwa, we take for granted. Thank you for making me look at my back yard afresh.

Simply fantastic. First the "Good morning Internet". Then the MAP- ...and you get sucked right into the "Adventures of Noraly"! And the video is expertly made- the ride and road, the vistas, anecdotes, general snippets, drone filming and the absolute mastery of the music selection and synchronizing. I can't say it enough. Noraly...your work is the best. Cant thank you enough for the Spirit and the Adventure. Ride safe. Your trusty companion Savannah is really to be admired too.
Noraly hats off to you. Such a brave lady doing these stretches alone and giving us pictures which we cannot even dream of. May the heavens bless you and your spirit
Amen.
Amen
What a stunning country, we had no idea. Thank you Noraly, your indomitable spirit never fails to inspire and warm our hearts.
Itchy Boots is the Bomb! I get a kick out of how strict she is about how far she wants to ride any given day, but kinda funny for me, being from Texas, the distances travels in a day are really not that far for us. But she is an very positive embodiment of the ideology of "it's about the journey, not the destination." I'm really ready to travel South Africa, it reminds me some what of south and west Texas. Y'all have a great day and safe ride! Semper Fi!
Noraly sees the snake, turns around.... I'm like, "WHAT! Don't turn around!"
Often imitated, never duplicated, Itchy Boots is definitely one of a kind.
And how about Savannah chugging up those steep slopes and over those big rocks like a Champ!
And SO well videographed... Miss Boot's long day in less than 1/2 an hour.

Thank you! The Karoo looks so much like my home in Southern Colorado, but you make it so much more interesting. And I love your laugh. My wife of 50 years (Dutch, of course) laughed like that!
So frequently, I am disappointed in CZcams. I can only give one Thumbs Up. They thought they had you with that gate code. Once again, thank you for showing my grandchildren what an adventurous spirit really means.
When you ride through a storm, Hold your head up high, And don't be afraid of the dark, At the end of a storm, There's a golden sky, And the sweet silver song of a lark, Ride on through the wind, Ride on through the rain, Though your dreams be tossed and blown, Ride on, Ride on, With hope in your heart, And you'll never ride alone, You'll never ride alone, Ride on, ride on, With hope in your heart, And you'll never ride alone, You'll never ride alone. There has been a flood of new single female rider channels recently that can only thank you for their inspiration. Sadly, some appear to almost clone your videos. Your channel is by far the best. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber down. Tot ziens.
I agree. I am glad others are inspired to experience personal goals and adventures, but I am saddened when I see other female solo riders attempting to copy Noraly’s video style and content. The truth is that simply riding a motorcycle is not an uncommon skill. Nor is riding off road trails and secondary roads. Equally solo travel is also not uncommon. What IS uncommon and irreplaceable is Noraly herself. It is NORALY that makes her videos and journey uniquely special. Her uniquely exuberant personality mixed with her staunch independence, her sharp intellect, her academic knowledge as a geologist, her natural kindness measured with her finely honed instincts to perceive threat and danger in both landscape and creatures . (Especially two legged ones.)
Ride on Noraly!! May all your adventures bring you joy and fulfillment. Thank you for sharing YOU with all of us! 👍🏻
A flood of channels? I'm curious, who do you mean?
@@DaVinci368 Beautifully stated. I agree completely. There is only one Noraly, she is the best!

Yeah we South Africans are blessed with I think one of the most beautiful counties in the world.
This is future me; it's great to cover the highlights of Southern Africa again while Noraly is exploring the Sahara. Enough time has passed that it's like a new vacation and a new trip. Awesome!!!
There is only one Noraly and she is a precious gem.
The drone shot and music around 16 minutes in was absolutely spectacular. Bravo!

That moment at the top of the pass was so beautiful. What a feeling of joy and freedom that moment held.
Over the last fifty years I’ve ridden hundreds of thousands of kilometers in many countries, never once did I want to ride South Africa - until now. Amazing footage; be safe, have fun!
So great to see IB chow down and dance in her exuberance upon completion of reaching the summit. That right there is her WHY, I believe.
If a channel could win an award it has to be this one - absolutely wonderful
You truly do live a blessed life. You do work hard for it. Of course we don’t get to see a day in the life of Noraly, not really. A behind the scenes look at your life on the road. But that’s okay because most of us know or have an idea of how hard or rough life can be on the road in multiple ways. One can only imagine. We assume that the satisfaction you get at the end of the day is what drives you on. None of this stops us from loving you for what you do or worrying about you while you do it. As I’ve said to you before. Ride safe and have fun. 🇺🇸 Great video Noraly. You never fail us.
Actually you can see her working her one-woman video production, go back to her series on the moto-scene in the Netherlands, it's there.

Yepp, one really has to consider that. Noraly is doing an outstanding job there. A superbly talented lass in many ways.
A Very superb video again! I wonder if a true cinematic professional can rival Norally!!! In this whole South Africa tour, the videos are at different level. Awe-inspiring to say the least. Had I been tourism minister of SA, I would have granted millions for making the country look so so great. Wish you good luck from India.
Wow I had no idea that so much of the SA landscape and roads seem very similar to what you would find in North Africa, only more mountainous of course.
Just love the Karoo. Annually the African equivalent of Burning Man takes place here. Afrikaburn takes place the last week of April with the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets you can wish for. The Tankwa Padstal is a stop over for many.
I know I say this a lot, but that drone footage is amazing, it's like having your very own helicopter film crew. Well done.
