The reference to the Primordials is a huge hint to why there are other mythologies. And in God of War Ragnarok Surtur says Kratos blades have primordial Fire in them, I feel like there are small hints we missed that Kratos is way more special than we think
In the original ending of God of War 3 (planned during pre-development, but cut later on), the other deities from Egypt and Nordic Lands were supposed to rush to Greece and claim it as its their own. It was cut not to make stuff more complicated, but that was the supposed original ending.
I know some people are saying that the Norse and Greek mythology do not line-up in the games but I think they do in a way. When Mimir stated how the world was created from the Norse point of view he said that Ymir created Midgard, the Aesir, Vanir, and Giants. I think that maybe Ymir was a primordial that may either stayed out of the war or survived it.

Maybe because the Bible is a copy of the Greek Myths. Many elements of Greek Mythology were adapted into the Bible, but while everything in Greek Mythology is grey, because the Titans are not completely evil and the Gods are not complete good, the Bible is very black and white.

Egyptians believed in an Earth and universe formed by several deities, with the deities themselves being some of the concepts, (Ra literally being the sun, Nut literally being the heavens, etc) no Trinity, nothing like that. Polytheism preceeds monotheism.
I just realised that they gender swapped all the Primordials except Uranus lol. In Greek Mythology there are 4 main Primordial deities which are Gaia (earth), Uranus (sky), Pontus (sea or water in general), Tartarus (underworld). Of course there are more, but these 4 are the most basic and well known. Here we can see these 4 going at it, and we can pretty easily find out who is who by their appearance. So, starry boi is obviously Uranus, and he is fighting Water woman, who is also obviously Pontus, who is male in myths. With the other two it's already not so easy, logically the woman should be Gaia and the man Tartarus, but their skin textures say otherwise. The man seems much more connected with earth and his falling hand creating a chain of mountains supports this theory, while the woman is all red and seems to be covered in magma, which gives us a male Gaia and a female Tartarus. A very odd decision, considering that in mythology Gaia and Uranus are supposed to be a couple and give birth to the Titans... I also wonder how does Gaia we see in the games fit into this hierarchy, she is obviously not a Primordial as we see them here, but she's still a Mother of Titans. But I guess we'll never know
The names of all 4 primordials are revealed in the original artbook. The red primordial is Chaos and she is (yes she in GoW universe, while in Greek myths Chaos is a he) fighting Ourea. Ouranos is fighting Ceto ( she is his daughter in Greek mythology) Gaia is not in this cinematic.
GamerBro 1928 not really since kronos the child of the primordirals literaly created the concept of time so their not just ego level since the games cant really justify something in the lore
Gabriel Charles the Cronus we see in God of war is Zeus' father. We don't get to see Chronos the father of time in the game though but he is above the Gods and Titans
Yeah is a common error but because Gaia is the mother of the titans generally is assumed that Gaia is a being like them... But she's a primordial deity like Ouranos created by chaos itself and not generated like the titans
There were 4 primordials (The first titans) and.. in ancient Greek mythology they didnt kill each other with war...Primordials can not die after all. They were Ouranos(Sky), Erevos(underworld) ,Eros(Love) and Tartaros(Abyss)... They were born from Chaos which was the very first primordial being.Tartaros was a fearsome titan(primordial) , bad ,bigger and stronger than any of the primordial beings(titans) and because they were scared of him, they made him fall into the abyss and it took his name Tartara(It means abyss). There were also humans on earth...So the primordials might have came from the space which that ment chaos to greeks...Anyways a woman made kids with Ouranos and their kids are the titans as we know (cronos,hyperionas,rhea,.....they were 12 kids titans), the woman was named Gaia which means earth and she never was a primordial being and humans existed before the primordials... also Tartaros made a kid with Gaia and he is called Typhoon(And he is stronger than cronos and zeus together) the king of monsters, Tartaros had more kids but the mythology is not saying much about them. This game made titans look weaker than gods but so you know (for an example) Cronos can bend time, after all his name means literally time (Cronos), Hyperion(Light), Oceanus(sea),Rhea(flow),Typhoon(destruction) and more... they were way stronger than you can imagine, just the game made them look weak XD well I can not blame them(Imagine fighting something like the sea or a typhoon literally) also...Kratos means state, fairness and... yea he existed as son of Zeus(or Dias in greek)...Greek mythology is great! XD
Soy Boy hrs saying that the world was created by the primordiales waging war on each other Hence why Kratos, the god of WAR, is so powerful. What he says Good little Easter egg tho
dude believe ashura from ashura wrath is more powerful he defeated a god who is 10x time bigfer than a planet and he send the god of creation flying qith his fist
Slice ofLife Kratos has killed basically anyone and everyone that he's ever fought. That doesn't make anyone else less powerful, it just means that Kratos is a monster
So during this age of primordials. Would it be safe to assume that Ymir was among them and is how Odin crossed paths with him ultimately killing him and creating Midgard and Asgard from his remains? 🤔
No, Yimir has absolutely nothing to do with the Greek primordials, otherwise the game and the lore would've mentioned it. The Greek and the Norse are in different dimensions, so they don't even belong in the same reality. The Norse have a totally different universal creation event from the Greeks, and all the different universal creation events from all mythologies are confirmed to be valid and canon to God of War cosmology, they are all just as important as each other and exist at the same time in totally different dimensions. Each dimension is infinite in size and requires powerful magic to leave, hence why Tyr the Norse God of War needed the Unity Stone for inter-dimensional travel.
@@hurricane7727 I'd say he'd be a similar level to the most powerful Norse Gods like Odin for example, he would've been a great ally to Kratos just like his brother Surtr. Kratos, Yimir and Surtr would be the scariest trio in the whole universe if they teamed up.
Before there was something there was nothing, and before that nothing there was my voice narrating the nexus of oblivion... and some choice pornography.
I kinda wonder how the earth would look like in God of War. Are Greece and Norway countries? planets? other realms or dimensions? how did Kratos travel? When Kratos seemingly destroyed the world in GOW 3, did it mean the entire world or just the territory of the Olympians of Greece? I really want to know more
It is revealed in the comics that they're just seperate countries and not realms or dimensions. Kratos walked across a desert to Egypt shortly after God of War 3. The Egyptians convinced him to leave, then he goes to Scandinavia, setting the events of God of War 2018.
For people getting confused how there are two different iteration of universe being created is that cory said every iteration of formation of universe is true and they don't contradict each other ie a multiverse
This makes me wonder were the primordials also the creators of the norse shogun and egyptian pantheons or were they born from there own primordials, because midgard should still be on earth so if greece is still a wasteland did kratos move to another continent or did he move to another realm
Call me crazy, but I believe the "Athena" that Kratos keeps seeing is one of the primordials masked, and is also the one responsible behind Odin's mask

But I guess we'll never know
Gaia IS actually a Primordial, there are many Primordials, not just the ones seen here.
So there are 2 gaias? Are there supposed to be two of them
The names of all 4 primordials are revealed in the original artbook.
The red primordial is Chaos and she is (yes she in GoW universe, while in Greek myths Chaos is a he) fighting Ourea.
Ouranos is fighting Ceto ( she is his daughter in Greek mythology)
Gaia is not in this cinematic.
Her, the fallout narrator, and Morgan Freeman are easily the best narrators.
So the primordials are essentially on the same level of someone like, lets say Ego The Living Planet?
GamerBro 1928 more like SENTIENT brings.
GamerBro 1928 not really since kronos the child of the primordirals literaly created the concept of time so their not just ego level since the games cant really justify something in the lore
Gabriel Charles you're confusing Chronos father of time with Cronus the titan and father of olympians. Chronos is a primordial god
sir cacahuate the third like father of zues cronus sorry since theres many spelling of cronus
Gabriel Charles the Cronus we see in God of war is Zeus' father. We don't get to see Chronos the father of time in the game though but he is above the Gods and Titans
Unable to die, he eventually stopped thinking.
In God of war 2018 according to Mimir Ymir is considered the primordial in Norse mythology.
There are many primordials in both greek and norse myth, but ymir and ouranos are the creator gods of the respective myths
hands down the best narrator of all time
She sounds like a mature, yet soothing, royal lady ...
Also the story and animation is outstanding for it's time ...
I've played it whole...
A hundred hands BOI

A one slashy BOI
WHY ARE YOU RUNNING WHY ARE YOU RUNNING
gaia and uranus are primodial
Damn straight my ass is primordial
Prof. Random
lol
Not Gaia she's the 1st titan born from the Primordials war.
XD
No one:
Absolutely No one:
Names of Creatures in GoW: Badonkadonk
They're based on Greek mythology
Oops, my bucket !

Before there was time.... there was nothing....and before there was nothing.....there were monsters
Can you believe Gaia left a cave to her heart
I think She was Danaged by Poseidon which made that Hole
Sinse whe world was created by war it explains why Kratos, God of WAR is so powerful.
Soy Boy hrs saying that the world was created by the primordiales waging war on each other
Hence why Kratos, the god of WAR, is so powerful.
What he says
Good little Easter egg tho
dude believe ashura from ashura wrath is more powerful he defeated a god who is 10x time bigfer than a planet and he send the god of creation flying qith his fist
i mean believe me
That and hope. Kratos is the only god that possesses hope, which the director of the series said is basically the greatest power a god could possess.
Holy shit
What was the specific oath that Aeageaon broke to Zeus? Did he rebel against Olympus in the Titonomachy?
Chaos>Eldar Gods>Titans
The red one is Chaos.
@@wiseguy240Winston nawmon probably means the real myth not god of war
Damn, I was hoping for something more lovecraftian.
Fronatomy please no
Fronatomy What do you mean?
It's god of war, it's losely based on real life ancient myths.
Lovecraft is a modern day thing that .
Khadeem Duinkerk Can't argue with that though
gay
Chaos is the nothingness which all else sprung from.
That was awesome! Thought this was a movie intro!
The struggle of the Devas (the younger gods-led by indra) and the Asuras (the elder gods-led by Bali) is also in the Rig Veda.
So Zeus has these Furies and yet Nox still scares the shit out of him. Just how powerful is the woman?
U meant nyx?
Flow 101 she is a primordial, one of the beings who created the entire universe. so I would say, very.
Slice ofLife Kratos rekts everyone my friend, thats what he does
Slice ofLife Kratos has killed basically anyone and everyone that he's ever fought. That doesn't make anyone else less powerful, it just means that Kratos is a monster
Eh? Zeus in Greek mythology is far more powerful than Nyx. Just because he avoided conflict does not make her more powerful. Read Homer and Hesiod.
So basically there are still tons of monsters and super powerful beings in Greese and Olympus that could come into play
Like Hecate, Eole,Eris,Hypnos and his sons...
Also aegaeon's brother, cottus
My man was looking like Dr. Strange in Infinity War with all those hands and shit
Imagine if there is someone who is just chilling at the beginning of that beginning
I'm disappointed the hecatoncheires only had one head.
Fr they have 50 heads! But i get why because that would take long as f
Awesome
The soundtrack 🔥
"They tortured him..."
Bro Aegeon just gave up after failing to swat one away💀💀💀
First there was Apsu and Tiamat from their meeting , gods came into existence.
So during this age of primordials. Would it be safe to assume that Ymir was among them and is how Odin crossed paths with him ultimately killing him and creating Midgard and Asgard from his remains? 🤔
Probably. And Surtr
Ymir in Marvel Comics has Came Back to Life after His Death. In Marvel Ultimate Alliance Ymir is a Boss Fight. He is Also Big too.
@@ThePanther97 If Gow Ymir Revived like his Marvel Counterpart how Strong would he be?
@@hurricane7727
I'd say he'd be a similar level to the most powerful Norse Gods like Odin for example, he would've been a great ally to Kratos just like his brother Surtr. Kratos, Yimir and Surtr would be the scariest trio in the whole universe if they teamed up.
In the time before The Titans, before The Gods of Olympus, Merasmus was born
Poseidon looks more great than his brothers!
Hello, what is the cause of the initial war between the primordials in the God of War game?
They are Crazy.
It’s crazy how they made a game . Speaking from Book of Enoch …. Hmmm
That's a helluva video.
Auto captions called him Aegean the head of companies 😂
Uranus is way too underrated 🔥
Underrated but he might soon be overrated
Just hope he doesnt turn into a thanatos moment
Ceto is more underrate
She created big bang with a punch🥶
This is what odin seek, this knowledge the truth
But this only applies to Greece because Midgard was created from the corpse of Ymir.
Now I remember Adrian hecatrauntre is the hundred arm titan and the tallest titan I think
Before there was something there was nothing, and before that nothing there was my voice narrating the nexus of oblivion... and some choice pornography.
And still, before even the primordials... there were memes. Endless, boundless, and spaceless memes.
Before titans there were
HEcatonchires
Or HECATONCHItans
Aegon was also a titan after all
They thought my boy kratos was going out like that
The primordials. They we're before the gods and Titans. From them came the Furies. The sisters of fate (?)
nice demais essa montagem melhor game de todos os tempos
Kratos: "Aww boohoo little Zeusie betrayed by a hundred hand man?
Gonna cry?"
1:34 when I got hungry midnight but my father still awake.
Awesome!!
I kinda wonder how the earth would look like in God of War. Are Greece and Norway countries? planets? other realms or dimensions? how did Kratos travel? When Kratos seemingly destroyed the world in GOW 3, did it mean the entire world or just the territory of the Olympians of Greece? I really want to know more
Earth is flat, but there are galaxies ans star in Greek Universe ( we see that when Ceto smashed Uranus, it created them )
It is revealed in the comics that they're just seperate countries and not realms or dimensions. Kratos walked across a desert to Egypt shortly after God of War 3. The Egyptians convinced him to leave, then he goes to Scandinavia, setting the events of God of War 2018.
@@BaronessAishi055 Yep
For people getting confused how there are two different iteration of universe being created is that cory said every iteration of formation of universe is true and they don't contradict each other ie a multiverse
hecatonchires is a greek word with English characters meaning ( a person) with 100 hands
Zues' hair was Magnificent
Would ask him for a hand to move house
😆
This makes me wonder were the primordials also the creators of the norse shogun and egyptian pantheons or were they born from there own primordials, because midgard should still be on earth so if greece is still a wasteland did kratos move to another continent or did he move to another realm
Another realm. This is the creation of the Greek universe, not the other
No, the primordials created the Greek Universe only.
The primordials only created the Greek Universe.

Call me crazy, but I believe the "Athena" that Kratos keeps seeing is one of the primordials masked, and is also the one responsible behind Odin's mask
