Everything about this intro is just amazing. It’s not just a boring opening title, but it gives the player a visually appealing recap of the previous 2 games and does an epic job doing it with a badass score. Love God of War
Then why isn’t ascension ghost of Sparta and chains of Olympus in it? Those games are part of the lore and came before the 1st 2.

I love how they made the entire intro seen look like a drawing in a Amphora, Greeks used to depict noteworthy events on different types of pottery. Just like we today have different paintings or other events drawn on canvas.

I like to imagine this is how Santa Monica came up with this intro: "Hmmmm.... what if James Bond had an epic choir instead of a jazz or pop song?" Not kidding, this is so stylized it's almost like 007 in Olympus.

And it also served well as adapting us to the new visual feel of the game by reanimating the events of the previous games in this style to introduce the new refined graphics
Ok first of all THIS SEQUENCE IS SOOO FUCKIN GOOD . I mean the score is phenomenal, the animation is mind-blowing, the metaphoric imagery which has multiple meanings is breathtaking ... AND they wrapped 2 games-worth-story in under 4 minutes

I am here after playing the new God of War Ragnarok. I remember my older brother playing this a few years ago. It’s pretty astonishing. The music is epic. It’s biblical in scale. It’s a groundbreaking opening sequence. Linda Hunt’s voice-over intro is great!

The new god of war series nowadays is incredible, but the old saga can't be beaten, taking the camera away from the shoulder created many opportunities to cast the sheer size and colossal scale of things back in the day

Just to be clear GOW is not Greek history, for example Hades is a actually a decent person compared to Zeus And Posiedon when hades is asked to free a soul he straight up just hands over the soul in question without any payment or quest, he just does it cause someone asked him nicely,
And Kratos is the right hand of Zeus,

Esse jogo é incrivel mano, a introdução fazendo os flashbacks do God of War 1, God of War 2 na parte do Kratos acorrentado é do God of War Ascension, essa introdução é muito melhor do que a dos filmes
God of War 3 é uma obra-prima, uma pena a sony não ter lançado pro PC logo, pelo menos eu tenho um PS3 e um PS4 né....
A cena dele acorrentado é quando ele recebe as lâminas do caos,e não aquela dele preso no começo do Ascension.

I played the GOW series when I was young and did not understand the (revenge) storyline that well. But imagine being older and having had to wait a couple of years for GOW 3 to release and than starting off with this intro. Brilliantly done by Santa Monica studios. Cant give them enough credits for this.
