Rodney is the kindest, caring and good hearted person in the world he is so amazing and a inspiration to all skaters who have seen him skate, I mean for goodness sake the man used to practice for 9 hours a day it no wonder he defies physics with nearly every trick he lands! Rodney mullen: the shaolin monk of skateboarding! HE'S AMAZING!!!
Thanks very much for this video. Nice to see Rodney still progressing. Thanks for showing us this side of him that I would probably never ever see. Great job guys.
thanks fsu. glad i could help and still do, a lot of skaters know are support for your guys site. ive been busy lately, are college semester is over and will get started on helping you guys out and improving brandon approve and other related business.
@Brandonapprove Thanks for sharing the interviews--I'd love to meet him. You asked the most important thing, in my opinion, about him filming again and new tricks. Hearing him talk about the G-turn spins in part 2 was cool too. He's so humble and you know if HE is saying "I think I'll have something to show"...the new footage of him will be bad to the bone.
SO AWESOME!
The man is a fucking beast on ledge and table skating. I don't see that much current stuff or footage of Rodney, thanks for posting mate. ;)
I can't wait for his new part
he is such an inspiration for me. i am also and engineering student and also love to skate. so much respect for rodney mullen
Awesome! And he's coming with a part with mr. Haslam. That's just automatically awesome!
Gonna watch part 2 now!
It's weird seeing Rodney Mullen finally start to slow down, he's always been so strong in the world of pro skating. This said everything he's done is still to this day and for many years to come absolutely mind blowing. Still the most talented skateboarder in the world
he is a very humble person very well talented,
this guy is awesome, we need more heros like him!
Most humble guy ever, greatest thing about him man..
I agree with that, I think and believe its why he has focused so hard on freestyle and boarding in general...either way...he is a man to follow and love for his contributions to the skateboarding world
Every time I see a video if Mullen giving some sort of feedback or watching him skate is the main reason I still skate. Like he was the only reason I started skating, and after watching this and a few other bids of him made me sort of re-realise my love of freestyle skating and how far away I've strayed from it.
hes so down to earth :) i love it
rodney, damn, havent seen an updated interview in years, peace
rodney is so amazing and a legend
he looks like such a nice guy! I like seeing these pioneers of extreme sports still up and kicking it...i mean if you asked him to skate he would do it as if he wasnt in his 40s...same with surfers! its awesome...as amazing as they are to watch makes you realize that they are human as well...very approachable...great video and interview :)
Rodney is so awesome
Awesome! 8)
you 2 meet some really cool people, ur so lucky!
Rodney, u have been my idol for 12 years.
This guy is so pure honest, and sympathetic. Awsome guy :D
@soapbox187 thanks, i find it incredible how pro skaters are like everyone else, i didnt realize until we started filming them. hopefully are videos capture them as the way they are, i think that what's what makes are videos unique
man I would love to just hang out and talk to Rodney like this.
he's so very nice guy...there is no one like you rodney....
Such a cool dude!
good for you dude. thanks for the commenting.
He is probably one of the most genuine people in the world.
reminds me of rob dyrdek and his manventure with danny way...its always the older pioneers of their sport seem so cool. straight role model material and they make it seem effortless.
Rodney is such a cool guy...he was such an inspiration to me when I skated as a kid/teenager. Looking back I wish I would have stuck with it like he has...I still have the love for skating, but I would probably kill myself now. LOL I remember just watching his video parts in slow mo trying to figure out how he set up for all of his tricks. I could watch him skate all day, his style is sooo amazing.
Master Mullen !👏
he so down to earth its shocking talking to a complete stranger with so much respect how couldnt you be a fan of this guy
@Bezachel thanks bezachel, check out our new go skateboarding day video rodney is in that one too.
Rodney is the ultimate freak of nature. It will take 100 years for anyone of his caliber to come along again
Rodney Mullen... Coolest, calmest guy ever.
he is legend
I HAD THE "BONES BRIGADE" COME TO VA BCH.,VA @ W.R.V.(Wave Riding Vehicles-21st & Cypress) in 1988. It was MULLEN, HAWK, MOUNTAIN, GUERRERO, McGILL, & A FEW AM PRO'S. MULLEN WAS PULLING 3' HIGH, FRONT & BACKSIDE 360 OLLIES ON HIS FREESTYLE BOARD, SICK!!!!!!
If I was given the choice to have anything in the world right now it would be to have this man's skating talent. Forget fame and fortune. I would be able to bend the limits of the skateboarding world. Best freestyle skater to ever live.
Always smiling. :D
he is a legend
Will do.
Rodney boi!!!!!!!
Guys, i like your vids and its awesome that you interview some amazing guys but please get a tripod!!!
One down to earth person, learn from him world
best skater ever, best person ever
legend
Strides the world of skateboarding like a giant.
Rodney is blazed ^_^
@RushManiac80 we believe each skater has already finish recording their thoughts and stories. i think it's in the editing stages. we're hearing rumors of it being in theaters, so they might be working on that. most likely their would be some kind of premiere, and would have been covered by one of the major skate mags. we'll look more into it to be sure what's up.
@Bragic Your right, never thought of it that way. Actually, the fact that he's shown freestyle in pretty much ALL his videos, totally contradicts what I said. Because he has been supporting it. I guess I'm just stuck on hoping freestyle has a chance at something again. Thanks Brett!
Rodney is the nicest guy ever!
what a fucking inspiration
rodney is so sick! your so lucky to meet him twice! if you meet him again, or anyone on the almost team, tell them i said hi ;D
@beakerox Man, he'll live forever.... in our hearts. He's been the perfect role model of skateboarding and he'll always be.
omg rodney is such a nice guy its un believable. hes as nice as it gets.
Thanks a lot for sharing. Umm... part 1 of 2 ?
hell yea good to see someone rockin a silver tooth too, long live rodney mullen
Lucky, I wish I met him
I think the world of Mullen, my favorite skater ever. He's the reason I picked up a board and never stopped. But when he says he's not interested in making a throwback freestyle board and that freestyle is his heart, I feel he really means there is just no money in it. He's a business man now :(
@RespectMyHate dw there will be someone who rises up and becomes as good as he is hopefully
@Brandonapprove your a human been? EPIC!
such a chill guy! not like some other D bags that just want to get interviews over with, they asked him what his fav ice cream was and he answered AND even asked THEM what THEIR fav was! :)
this guy seems like a genuinely sweet person
you are so lucky, you get to talk to rodney, i'm jealous
hes such a humble guy giving theses guys the time of day and paying deep attention shows hes not fake at all being tired as fuck that guy deserves an award i would have told them fuck off or not even showed up to whatever they were doing raising money
@Brandonapprove you have a point but i draw my self and im a really good skater and i think smoking has helped me in both ive learn alot of different tricks every year.
@RespectMyHate I recognize a real fan in this comment, you a skater? I am; I started when I was 25, I'm 30 now and I 'am never gonna be a legend either :). But when I started watching skate vids, the one that impressed me the most was Mr Mullen. That guy is a magician, I wish he be around forever too, kickin' it to the max. your wish isn't silly, it's kinda humanity's common dream, being eternal... some of us would deserve it more than others, he surely does deserve it. Cheers
Almost Round 3 is one of the best skating films ever made.
skateboarding prevented me from smoking weed...its such a great hobby i'll never give it up for anything.
rodney's so cool haha
please ask rondey mullen if he can skate in rockville maryland any time =) it would make my life
Hes a rad dude
RODENY MULLEN IS A SAGE OF SKATEBOARDING!
Rodney is the coolest guy. God used him to revolutionize skateboarding all together. I think that is so cool :D
@SaylorAlex thanks for the comment. its been too hot resently so i think rodney has the right idea about skating at night
who agrees that not only is he the most accomplished skater in the world....
but could go undefeated agianst anybody in the world in a game of s.k.a.t.e.
@WildSurrender have you seen the interview from 2003, italy from slamtrick? if not, its so inspirational
@technicalhoboskater we are really luck. most of the time at events their is like a huge line for autographs and such. everyones their to buy stuff, so when people are looking through all the stuff we get to talk to him with little to no rush.
@AdamKarolewics12 i skated with the board i had him sign and it made me a whole lot better a skating. every time i took a look at the signature it just help me progress.
I remember seeing Rodney skate for the first time in 1987, was a demo in a chunky parking lot. He was doing his freestyle line, was doing a long g-turn nose manual and hit a rock. Instead of pitching him to the ground or stepping off, he did a cartwheel out of the fall. If I didn't hear the wheel fart, you wouldn't have sworn it was staged. But it wasn't. Such a mellow and modest dude, a true asset to a sport full of ego and douches.
best pro skater that will ever exist
@staphinfection
No, his voice is like that on all interviews, I've seen a few.
That is the way to go. It doesn't matter what sports you do, it doesn't matter how legal it gets, what's wrong's wrong. You don't need people/government approval to know that.
@AdamKarolewics12 DUDE, you're only 18 years old, you have so much life ahead of you. Get off your ass and go do what you WANT to do with yourself. If you want to skate and get good at it, go do it. You have to keep at something to get better at it.
It's hard for me to hear people that are just out of high school saying things like "I miss the old days" and such.... you have NO idea how good you have it right now. GO OUT AND ENJOY LIFE BEFORE YOU'RE OLD AND IT'S TOO LATE! GO NOW!
My mom walks in
"he skateboards? he seems kinda old"
"WHOA WATCH YOURSELF, Rodney mullen may be old, but hes a legend"
does anyone know how old he is now? He was my first and favorite skater when I started skating. truly an inspiration
What a Polite Humble Talented as Hell human being... Class Act
Hes like the Godfather of skateboarding. I could see Tony and Cole calling him "Don."
@couriermike thats cool dude. he is an inspiration
The best thing about Rodney isn't his skating style, its the fact that he isnt into all that bullshit mainstream commercial skating crap like most pros these days. He doesn't have an ego, he's just himself.
@TheEnglishTenchu i know i am, especially meeting him and got to talk to him for the amount of time we had. alot of the time, talk to pros is a little chat. also, luckly, everyone was their for sale, didnt even know they pasted rodney or didnt know who hes was. i kept my question and answer quick in case someone want to talk to him or get something signed. i dont mean to bug him for too long, we were waiting for louie to arrive, so while wait how could let up the chance to talk to him some more.
He is just a super nice kind of person that is not typical of what you're used to seeing often. And I know that's why you would say something like that and I think it's ridiculous. Just because he is so nice and timid doesn't mean he has a disability.
@WildSurrender thanks, thats are job.
rodney mullen is the god of skating
@homedogdigity part 2 isnt uploaded yet, i desided to put it up tomorrow
@DLS4B i take requests on questionsif you have anything in mind to ask skaters, but for my questions i would like to not ask the obvious becuase skaters could get that all the time through magazines and stuff. also, i make talking to ridney look easy, but for sure if anyone alse were to ask him a series of question they would be speachless.
rodney mullen is high on life
Such a great person such a shame that he is only known to a few....I guess he really doesn't like the spot light
He is a very nice guy i would love to traiin under the ways of the mullen.
It's funny, if I didn't know any better, I'd say he was a stoner, but he's always been very laid back and reserved from what I understand in every interview. Everyone always says he's really nice, but deep down you can tell he would rather be sleeping/skating then talking to this guys.
