      @@unfa00 Honestly that is kind of boring, is like all monsters look so different but sound too similar. My wife and I complain about that all the time. Whenever we listen to a monster sound that reminds us some how a pig squeal we are kind of disappointed of that movie. Don't get me wrong, your result is much better than the original. It is just for my personal preference it is like everything was chocolate, everyone loves chocolate but it is not the only flavor. Does it make sense? I think even big productions overlook the importance of good sound design, they just crank the bass.

    Loved this video! Every now and then ill fart around with random sounds like this. Now i gotta compile a list of plugins to try out. I'm curious why you do an aux send to a reverb bus though.

    • @unfa00
      @unfa00  Před 2 lety +1

      An aux bus with reverb lets me better simulate an effect that all the elements are in the same environment. This also makes the CPU load lower, though that's not really a consideration.
      Having multiple layers send to a common reverb bus helps make them sound like they are one sound, rather than separate sound elements and layers. When you apply some bus compression as well - it can have a similar effect of "locking elements together".

      @@unfa00 ahh, I think i understand. Sort of like having a whole band in the same reverb chamber rather than each instrument in their own reverb chamber. I appreciate the response and the vids! @@unfa00 @unfa🇺🇦 Thank you. I saved it to bookmarks in Firefox and Chrome both. I'll never miss another one. Btw, if you could use an extra interface, I am currently writing a Linux driver for the old Teac (Tascam) US-1641 USB audio interfaces. It is the precursor to the 1608. You should grab one from ebay or amazon and Ill send you the driver when Im finished (unless it ends up being crap on a stick).
      It is a 16 channel, and it was only $200-$300 US when it was new (a decade ago). I had that and a $2500 DAC/ADC (I can't remember the brand name atm...) and I hardly ever used the latter. I ran my monitors from the 1641 because it sounded better, at least to my ears. It is 192k / 24 bits. It sounds like the expensive ones IMO.
      Anyway, I just thought I would let you know, in case you are interested. Who couldn't use 16 extra inputs for only a few bucks (only 4 or 6 outs, not counting the monitors or the TRS headphone jack.)
      I have one from my old Windows/Cubase 6 days, and I'm not going to let a 16 channel interface sit in my closet just because it doesn't have a device built into the kernel.
      Oh well. It could have been worse. It was like 2010(ish.) Thank goodness I didn't go for a firewire interface!
      Sry for the long msg. Ill leave you alone now. Ill be there this weekend. Ill even double stream the next 1 to make up 4 the wall of words. I always get excited and write too much...
