    Btw, greetings from the Netherlands. Just started an aquarium and you are one of the youtubers I start following recently. As a non-American watcher I only have one request and that is whenever you talk about temperature also to show Celsius besides Fahrenheit. Gallons to liters roughly works out (3,5) and 4 feet makes roughly 120cm. But Fahrenheit to Celsius always brakes my brain. I know USA is your main audience, but I would love to see if the channels from the USA are ‘world’-friendly. Same comment would apply for co-op and others. Keep up the good work!

    Great information, thanks.
    I once ran out of shrimp food due to poor planning and fed them fish food, big mistake, most fish foods contain copper sulphate, lost half my Neocaridinas.
    The Amanos didn't seem to mind, tough little devils.
    Did a lot of aggressive water changes and substrate cleaning plus a good dose of Aquasafe+, that must have cleaned up any copper left in the tank because the survivors are doing quite well and are reproducing.
    If anyone keep fish with shrimp, check the ingredients of your fish food, you may be poisoning your shrimp.
    I keep shrimp only and fish only tanks.

    I really love the fact you think of these nerdy topics that nobody else thinks about that are insanely important. This one more than some of the others but just like the would changing the pH of the water and other videos like that are a great idea. I feed Xtreme big fella pellets to my Oscar and they sink so fast he misses a lot of them and it gives me extremely poor water quality. I'm actually looking to switch to a pellet that floats longer to give him more opportunity to eat it instead of it rotting on the bottom of the tank. Thank for the great video!!

    Great topic, I only feed Krill a couple hours before a water change and turn my main filter off so it doesn't pick any up and stink.
    For Goldfish I don't do any cheap foods or pellets anymore just cause swim bladder issues over and over.
    #1 Pellet for me is Fresh & Natural goldfish ultra color, has a nice veggie to protein mix and is more digestible then Hikari and almost no smell whatsoever.
    #2 Repashy SuperGold gel food, best food there is for goldfish and most digestible of all but does break into tiny particulates and turn tank slightly green if fed every single day.
    #3 Hikari Lionhead, tons of protein, stinks like crazy fish and can stink up the water for a couple hours after feeding (my wife has a wolverine nose and always points it out), fish absolutely love it.

    I don’t like fish meal so I stick to NLS & Omega One. Fluval Bug Bites gives them a nice change of protein. I’m trying Xtreme to see if the fish like it as a change of pace. I think I need to get some earthworm pellets somewhere - Zoomed used to make it and fish went nuts for it. Nothing wreaks havoc in the tank like when my wife brings live earthworms in from the garden. It’s like the old Shamu splash zone at SeaWorld.

    • @gryllidaeperkcal1369
      @gryllidaeperkcal1369 Před 2 lety

      Whole fish is fish meal. Some companies just put fish meal in their formula, give it a different name on the label, and lie about the definition of “meal” so then you can skip brands like Hikari or Xtreme thinking you’re getting some higher quality fish. The fish meal in Tetramin for example is whole fish sourced from Scandinavia. New Life Spectrum has explained that fish meal means fish that has been dried up and turned into a powder and the whole fish in their ingredient list is indeed fish meal.
