Step by Step Guide to Install Nissan 300zx Late Style Injectors on Early Style Fuel Rail (Episode 3)

  • In this episode of the complete overhaul for my 1990-1996 Nissan 300zx, I go over how to upgrade early style fuel injectors to newer style injectors. This upgrade is to simply keep things simple when it comes to the fuel system. Early style injectors are phased out of manufacturing so this upgrade is a great one to do. The z32 has a specific kit made from z1 motorsports which makes this modification very simple and easy to do. I hope you enjoy the content and don't forget to leave us a comment!

    The reason those screws are so hard to get off with a Phillip's head is that they're not actually Phillip's, they're JIS (Japanese industrial standard). Learned this the hard way.

    Nice vid. One question. Why the used engine oil on the o-rings? I use Dow Corning 111. It works well for me, and it's not supposed to break down rubber over time like oil tends to do.

    Awesome video! My plenum is currently off for injector replacement , I have an early style engine, can I use the new style fuel rail/injectors or do I need to get an adapter kit and use the early style fuel rail ??

    • @ZBruhzchannel
      @ZBruhzchannel  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you for the support! To my knowledge you can use an early style fuel rail with new style injectors via injector kit to a early style engine. But I don't know if you can use a new style fuel rail on an early style engine. I would do some research on twinturbo.net to see if that is a possibility.

    its not a phillips that is a problem. those are jIC screws and use a JIC screwdriver. im sure the screws are still tough to get out, but you are less likely to stip them if you use the correct screwdrive....

    When re installed did you have to shave plenum for injector one? Every where I’ve looked says you have to. Seen a comment above said you didn’t but you hadn’t put the plenum back on. Awesome videos! Getting ready to do this to mine, have an 89 300zx tt JDM rhd.

    Hey zbro’s, I’m about to change my fuel injectors and I was wondering about the egr valve: why is it a good idea to delete it and will the engine pass a smog check after the delete?

    • @ZBruhzchannel
      @ZBruhzchannel  Před 3 lety

      Deleting the egr just makes your car run cleaner since the system can get clogged over the years. I don't know if it will pass smog without it, up here we don't get tested on antique cars

    this is a helpful video man! do you know if this adapter set will work on a vg30e maxima engine as well? i have the feeling that at least 1 or 2 injectors are on thier way out since it doesnt run 100% smooth and the spark plugs on cylinder 4 and 6 look like they run a bit lean.
