Would love to see this with MHD side by side comparison.
I have it on my 535i stage 2+ with catless downpipe and Upgraded intercooler. On the Dyno he have only 337 HP and 402 NM. Could be the Turbo that is not giving more boost.

Stage 1 introduced significant amount of turbo lag on my m240i, which is bad for track use. Stage 2 reduced the turbo lag by quite a lot with a highflow DP. Even without a big bump of peak torque/horsepower over stage 1, the smoothness is absolutely more desired on the track.

VERY interesting video. I have an M235i and just bought BM3 with one map that I have not picked yet. I've already installed a Wagner intercooler and a Evolution Racewerks charge pipe. I have a Fabspeed 200 cell catted downpipe on order and have been trying to decide to stick with stage 1 or go to stage 2. I like the torque curve of the stage 1 for the street and this video finally answered the question. I'm sticking with Stage 1. Thanks guys!

Brian.. we hear all over about upgrades and increases in HP. How about and in depth video on the issues you can run into. What are some of the negatives to modding??

There's none really if you do everyhing correctly. All of the OTS maps are relatively safe and run within BMW's stock internals just fine. All you have to do is cut your intervals in half or thirds for when you do maintenance oil changes severy 3.5k, spark plugs 25k, etc. thats the only negatives.

Great results. BM3 is the most amazing tuning platform today. OTS maps are solid! But so many other reasons it just obliterates everything in its way. BM3 FTW!
That’s because you never had MHD , MHD is more aggressive I had both.
I have a BMW 430i with the B48 engine. Stage 2 bootmod3 93 Oct with a downpipe, man it rocks!!

Got the Kies wifi adaptor just before xmas and just tonight flashed to stage 1 and damn, that is no joke! Probably not the smartest thing I've done since it's January in MN...
Great video Brian, how about also you do a flash xHP transmission to see if the torque limiter increases to support over the stage 2 93 octane bm3. I don't see a very large gain in torque. Factory version can't handle the newer flash stage 2. Would love to see please.

The sport cat already adds ca 15hp and 20Nm with the stock map
You should be getting much more HP from the MPPSK, also there’s an S in there because it comes with an exhaust (S-for Sound which is honestly the best sounding exhaust for these cars and has a full muffler bypass so straight piped from the downpipe back when in sport and quite like stock in comfort) unlike the MPPK on the N55.
MPPSK usually is about a 35-40 whp increase. I think more runs as the car adjusts would have been better.
Hi.. love your videos.. I have a BMW F11 535d. I got it tuned op from 299hk to 396hk. but short time after the head bearing got broken and i had to buy a new motor. I dont know if its because the car got tuned it broke or if it just would happen anyway.. I really want to get it tuned again but i dont know if its a good idea if it is gonna happen again.
would the bearing brake anyway or is it because of the tune up?

I also bet the car was still learning the tunes which is why every second run had higher numbers than the first. I bet the stage 2 tune will read higher after being on the car for a week or two.

MHD OTS ... I've heard from plenty of users that the MHD ots out performs the boot mode ots. 🤔🤔
It does i went from BM3 Pure map to MHD, BM3 ranat 19PSI with full supportingmods MHD does 21.9
Some run more boost some run more timing. BM3 to me does it better from tuning perspective. On BM3 I have lower intake temps and car just runs stronger and more consistently.
How does stage 1 affect fuel efficiency? And can it pass an emissions test?

Can you do this with the N55 please
To use the stage 2 tune you really need to swap in a HPFP upgrade, the tune is the programming but you can't skimp on the hardware. If you only have the downpipe upgrade stick with stage 1, a HPFP makes a notable difference, at that point flash the stage 2 and you'll really be glad you did.
Stage 2 ans 2+ are different maps. Downpipe is for stage 2, Hpfp is stage 2.5 or 2+, Turbo upgrade is stage 3, tune only is stage 1.
And what about just a hpfp and a tune? Do you know if there is a map in bm3 for that? I would prefer to keep my downpipe stock..
@@MuhammedAli-tx7lh its not advisable to upgrade hpfp without highflow or catless downpipe because of the risk of running rich.

I think the MPPK map you used was the one included in the BM3 map pack correct? I think that is the old version that mimics N55 MPPK HP. The BMW factory MPP(S)K for B58 with the included exhaust makes closer to stage 1. You should retest with a real MPPSK car.
I have the MPPSK on my 2018 F32 440i Xdrive. The pops and bangs is awsome that it makes.
Can you get the MPPSK on later cars in US? Here in Sweden (or the whole EU) some regulations have done so they dont sell it anymore.
My m140i championship edition has MPPSK from stock and it makes 375hp and 580Nm. It matches up to m140’s using bm3 st.1 with decats and air intakes.
@@HenkeEdge Yes, you can still get MPPSK for 16-18 cars in the US. The pops and bangs are original loud version, opposed to the EU updated version that has been toned down.
So a catless stage 2 340i is maybe right around 420whp? Give or take 5hp

I don't tune in very often, but has this been done for the N55 cars? I'm interested in getting a tune on my 335i, and would like to see the differences in the OTS stages on 93 octane.
My f30 felt the same on stage 1 as it did on stage 2 so I keep it on stage1 93 map.

Great Video but you failed to take into consideration the safe parameters established by the less aggressive options. That said, I have a Dinan flash (not piggy back). How would that compare to bootmod? I own a 435i. Would I see a sufficient improvement to ditch Dinan?
yes I had dinan piggyback and flash and bm3 bm3 definitely the way to go.

Hi I am experiencing a grey smoke after I took off my jb4 like 6 months ago I notice when I am at a steady RPM on the street and when coming to a stop sign it usually shuts off because of the start on and off option when I take off that’s when I throws grey smoke. But when I am in the FWY or pulling hard no smoke of any kind runs good pulls good just that smoke .

I have a MST. Intake
And a charge pipe
I just don’t know why is it throwing smoke.?

Difference is night and day no question. I just recently loaded BM3 Stage 1 93 octane tune and some fresh spark plugs.. I was quite surprised how the car opened up. My question is what is the stock boost, MPPK boost, and stage 1 93 octane boost when it comes to PSI?

Really surprised how little gain there is from stage 1 to 2! I got 393hp from my 440i with just mppsk, downpipe and AP intake. I'm now running BM3 stage 2, but think I will get it on a dyno to check the increase

Swear I saw a video where Kies made a new adapter that plugs right into the obd port and uses wifi/ Bluetooth so you don't have to use an ethernet cable and will work with both Apple/Android... Now I can't find it or the adopter on there website

BM3 Stage 2 93 is a significant increase over stage 1 for me. Torque comes on faster and stays longer on my f36 AWD. Can't go wrong with any BM3.

How much extra WHP/WTQ can I expect in a RWD 340i with a Stage 1 tune vs a stage 1 X-drive 340i?
There are various formulas used to calculate differences to the wheels of dyno numbers for RWD and AWD. But from a practical standpoint, actually racing 1/4 mile between the two, the XDrive should have better grip and beat the RWD off the line
im a little late but ive heard its a 15% decrease from crank for rwds and somewhere near 20% for awds so give yourself maybe 5% more whp
Will this upgrade void my warranty?
I have G20 M340i and just flash stage 1 bootmod3 with just 1 mod air intake. Are we saying if i do high flow cat and flash stage 1 still better than stage 2?

I would recommend getting SnagIt to record the computer screen inside of windows so we don’t get that weird glare look when recording a monitor with a camera

Supras weigh less and have a bigger racing platform then 340's . Supras also have a gen 2 b58 engine .
The high-pressure fuel pump. However, you can retrofit the supra HPFP (Plug and Play) and get massive gains. It's called Stage 2 +.

I have a 2017 330i F30 with the B48. I have stage 2 from DME tuning it is amazing. I get 327hp compared to 252 that comes stock. I have a cold air intake, full catback exhaust, and various other small things. Also when weather is colder the car performs much better. I get an approximate 30 hp gain when temp is 50-60 degrees

We run 95 octane here in South Africa, the base unleaded fuel is 93 octane will the 93 BM3 tune work on 95 octane fuel? We always have 95 octane available.
That is RON only. In the US the octane rating is AKI which is average of RON and MON. Different rating systems.
