    FYI: From factory, a 340i is rated for 320hp and 330lb-ft torque at the crank. Let’s see what we can get to the wheels with a stage 2+ tune. (Horsepower to the crank (motor output) is always more than the amount of horsepower that translates to the wheels due to drivetrain loss.)
    Had a great time at Orlando Autowerks with Ben & Jonathan. This is the first time getting my car on a dyno. For a B58 running a Dorch stage 2 HPFP with an OTS BM3 stage 2+ map.. the results aren't what I expected. Let me know what you think! We also get to see power numbers from Ben's stock F80 M3 comp.

    I made 383whp back when i was on 93 with just a catless dp, stock exhuast, stock air box, and bm3 stage 2 tune, this was back in 2021. After just doing an e30 blend with the ots map and dyno at 98 degree heat, I made 409whp with same mods. After doing a TU hpfp upgrade and switching over to bm3 stage 2+ e50 map, I did 470whp. I tried to do my performance mods on a budget and mainly keep it stock so I don't have to do much to reverse things after trading in the car for something else in the future.

      I appreciate you sharing your results here. Makes sense. It’s great that these cars don’t require much to make those lower gains. All the factors I mentioned in my video is definitely keeping my whp down, however my torque coming in at 452 makes sense to me. I get that initial acceleration but don’t have the power probably bc of the downpipe. I added an E mix over the weekend.. and my goodness 🤣. Look forward to running it back

    I don’t mean to disappoint but when I had bm3 it was similar power on stage 2 but as soon as I switched to MHD I made 410 whp on the stage 2. And catless DP does make a difference

      Really? A 30whp difference? Prob with the catless dp as well. I will swap DP, might as well just so I can do everything I can so next time I’m on the dyno I’m not disappointed 😂. Torque was there for stage 2+

      @@quincylinder9738 we had my friends stock F80 comp right there it performed well on the dyno. I’ve driven it but it’s hard to gauge bc my torque is there at 452. I just know my car has more potential with a stage 2+ tune. Need to swap downpipe to fully catless and get a custom tune or switch to MHD in the meantime

    Hey Man, good video. I have high flow air filter on factory box to prevent heat soak, downpipe, AWE non resonated midpipe and touring exhaust tuned with MHD stage 2. I am puttin 420hp on the dyno. My plugs are factory gapped.

      Exactly so I felt I could achieve that with a stage 2+ tune lol. Guess I’ll be changing the downpipe for fully catless and getting a custom tune or switching to MHD in the meantime

      Yeah the last run we tried 6th. The previous runs I think I was in 5th. There’s a lot of conflicting information online as to which gear it should be done in

    Your biggest gains from your current setup will be running ethanol, getting a PI setup and larger turbo (in that order)

    Weird, I’ve seen several FBO 2+ tuned B58 get 400+ wheel easily. Weather might have hurt it. 93 fuel you had might have been not really 93. I would say calibration, but Ben got good numbers so not sure there. Agreed on baseline. It’s about the % of increase more than total power.

      Stage 2+ on 93 should be around like 450whp and should be pushing more than a stock S55. Stage 2+ e30 is 500whp. Very strange.

    my 340 is just vrsf downpipe and b58tu pump on a e50 stage 2+ bootmod3 tune and i dyno’d at 471 wheel. if you go full e85 custom tune you’ll def be in the low 500’s

      @@phaxual5210 i do not. stage 2+ on bootmod removes torque limits on the gearbox but does not make shifts quicker. might flash xhp down the line but i don’t really race or anything like that so i do not need it yet

      My BM3 map states XHP is recommended to take advantage of the higher torque and I definitely noticed a difference in performance when I flashed it.

    Definitely not bad numbers at all.. I’m stage 2 with Mhd on a e30 map and I dynod about 430 whp. Vrsf catless dp upgraded charge pipe and tu pump. My buddy is running a E85 map w/ E40 mix and dynod 490 whp.. not something to worry about but something’s definitely off Power wise. Considering you do want to go custom tune I can offer you some good tuners.. but for me I did switch from bm3 to Mhd just because I ran into the same problems as you. For me I daily drive my car 430 whp is way more than enough for me and I beat 90 percent of the cars that try to race me on the road. I personally don’t think custom tunes make sense unless you want to go stage 3 upgraded turbo as the numbers from ots to custom tuned on any stage 2 map “2,2+” aren’t really crazy gains. Again it all depends on what your plan for the car is.. if you are leaning towards upgrading your turbo absolutely follow the custom tune route. If your trying to max out your power on stock turbo absolutely not it’s just a waste of money. Thanks and hope to see a reply soon. Cheers

      Yeah man definitely content with the torque haha. I appreciate the insight. That's what I've heard, that MHD is a more aggressive tune. At this point I'm probably not going to upgrade my turbo as I have some other plans I'm trying to see through. I was really looking to crack the 400whp mark on pump gas, which I feel can be achieved with a custom tune. However, like you said, that would be a good amount of money to (potentially) gain 20whp lol. Whereas I could add some E85 and definitely be in the 400's. Switching to MHD is also an option, but for the super license, and selling my BM3 tune it would be a couple hundred less than a custom tune. I think in my case a custom tune could be worth it considering I am running the Dorch stage 2 fuel pump that has a lot more flow than the TU pump

    That’s some serious power there! My 430i has mule power in comparison lol. I’m a total novice to this stuff but can a stage 1 tuning give your bmw better fuel economy?

      Not bad! Was expecting more power but the torque fooled my butt dyno 🤣. No, tuning doesn’t correlate to fuel economy. If anything it makes it worse because the car will be pushing more boost. Makes it more fun to drive and you will be gassing it more it often usually

    I’m really surprised you went with a HPFP instead of a catless downpipe. Downpipe and tune, that’s what you start with on this motor.

      I actually did start with a high flow downpipe from CG Precision which has 1 200 cell cat. However I will be swapping for a fully catless one now that I know it’s a major contributing factor to the power I’m getting combined with all the other mods. Thanks for watching!

    My 2017 440i GC M sport dynoed 431 whp. Stage 2 (catless downpipe, charge pipe, intake, NGK plugs, custom tune).

    All this stage 1 stage 2 bollocks is just that, bollocks.
    You can have a remapped ecu, and you can modify parts. That is it.
    My M140i has a 200 cell wagner cat, a has been for mapping a couple of times, and makes 455bhp/634nm.

      Lol yeah there’s not much difference in power between stage 1 and 2. Stage 2+ with an upgraded HPFP makes a difference though. Is your HPFP upgraded? You’re right, a custom tune is where it’s at! Nice numbers to the crank

      Those numbers are at the wheel not crank unfortunately, but still ok for a daily.
      I keep looking at a Dorch2 HPFP so I'm future proof for a turbo upgrade, but I need cooling upgrades first, as mine was heat soaked on the dyno even at the power it's running now.
      My tuner said an upgraded charge cooler rad and the hot climate mod should lower temps a fair bit.

      @@skrrtproductions Maybe we measure a different way here in England, it's done on an estimated transmission loss, so it's probably about 400 at the crank maybe ?
      Things are tight money-wise here, as we are just starting a recession, so spending money on toys is not the easiest.
      I follow a few people with tuned M140i's (ours are only RWD here, not like the xDrive you get over in the states), and with a B58tu HPFP and Pure800 turbo, people are seeing about 550 bhp on average, and because the Pure800 turbo is a hybrid based on the original, zero turbo lag so the car still drives nicely and pulls from low down revs.
      With a huge Borg Warner or Vargas GC+ turbo yes 650 to 680 bhp is possible without meth, but the cars seem to lose a lot of low down torque and they are not so nice as daily drives.
      I guess it's a balance.
      I daily mine so I want it to be reliable and driveable. If it was just a weekend toy, then yea, massive turbo would be the way I'd go !

    Great video bro!! Not the numbers I expected either, that's weird.. My 335 FBO numbers were 378 whp and the numbers with Meth + custom tune 428 whp, actually it was tune for a very good tuner right there in Florida, I will send it to you on Instagram. keep it up bro
