    Repost#407
    Tag someone who needs to learn Butterfly!
    If you have some strict pull-ups along with an understanding of the standard kipping pullup, you can start to play with the butterfly kip!
    I like to use this simple drill to help people understand the shapes, timing and control required when performing the butterfly kip!
    Try it out and let me know how you go!
    Pull-ups are TOMORROW in my @dailytrainingprogram so sign up now via the link in my bio and use this drill along with my programming to build your butterfly pull-ups!

    Why not just do proper pull ups ? Or calisthenics.

      Technically butterfly pull ups are still calisthenics.

      @@Nofrontleverformeyes, but they do such a small amount of muscle strengthening, that most the time they hurt you more because they put a lot of pressure on bones.

      Because in a competition you need more speed and reps instead of gaining muscles or strength. You have your own daily routine, also isn't that right that bf pull ups hurts you, that's only when you do the things bad and that happens in everything. People need to practice the thing by them or just read a little about something instead of just believe in some steroid guy who can't end a CrossFit warm up

    For all tha haters, Jesus christ we get it, you hate crossfit.
    "Why not just do normal pull ups instead? Durrr"
    Because quite simply, these are just quicker to do. And yes I get that they don't build strength as well as strict pull ups and yes I know they can cause harm more easily to joints. But guess what? People can care about different things, have different goals etc.
    I know hard to believe....

      @dylanreithel6212 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Really just for increased volume during competitions or a high volume pull up workout that has a time constraint and a higher heart rate goal for the workout. Lots of people do them improperly but when done correctly they're pretty beneficial. We don't teach them at our gym unless someone is proficient at strict and kipped pull ups first. I think lots of people do use the momentum and ability to do a pull up this way as a cop out for mastering the fundamentals though and that's an issue.

    Poor glenohumeral joint, you know this is a terrible workout right? Anyone who sees this, please do not try to replicate it.
    Stick to your strict pullups or lat pulldowns. It's gonna increase hypertrophy & TUT and decrease injury risk and overall shoulder damage.

      @Jackson-xb4wl nope, kipping is a gymnastics move designed to create momentum and build endurance. Further, kipping works the whole body unlike struct pull ups. At my gym you spent allowed to move on to kipping pull ups until you are strong enough to do a good amount of strict.

    • @asbjrnlomborg7830
      @asbjrnlomborg7830 Před 11 měsíci +1

      No, if you can't do pullups, do pulldowns or assisted pullups. Besides, stop talking out your ass. Kipping does not work the entire body. That'd be like saying "i flail my arms when i run on the treadmill, and therefore its a full body workout." that's not how that works. It's bad for your body. Muscle gain is minimal, you dont burn that many calories. (as literally any other form of cardio) it doesent build your core.
      It's fine that people do this for competition. But then it shouldnt be advertised as a workout. If you're a regular person who wants to get stronger or healthier, you should avoid these strategies.
      Also, endurance? guess what also builds endurance. A combination of SAFE workouts, such as cardio, calestenics, "safe crossfit" weightlifting. pretty much most thigns you could imagine.
