Did we learn nothing from Vietnam? You can't just train the local forces to fight a much larger force. It just doesn't work out well. We'll end up getting involved in a another losing war like Vietnam. Sigh.

Doubt it . America does not want to get involved in a war with Russia which will happen if they do get involved & this wont be a vietnam war (even though America won every important large battle in that war) im sure this will turn into a world war if the states get involved which will cause Russia to "offically" get involved causing a domino affect

      @dmitrichuikov6469 Před 9 lety

Brian Streufert Many of the Ukrainian Army we fight here, is honorable. They do not abandon their weapons and their posts, as did the earlier Ukrainians "who did not give fuck". Those we do capture, say that they have been told that in "Separ" territory, we torture, burn our captives to death, crucify them, and that nonsense.
Hell, look, there is Azov Battalion video of crucifixion of "East Ukrainian Separ". It is recent, you look on google and see. It is Graphic 18+ tho.
But yes we Ukrainian people are honest, we are working very hard as well. You see, we in the Donbass, we would have gone to Maidan too. We would have stayed in square, protested the Oligarch government in Kyiv.
But we were too busy working. Too busy providing food for out families, too busy mining for the benefit of who--the whole of Ukraine.
And now we get ripped. We paid 70% in taxes! Even us poor people pay 70% in taxes! And now we are denied pensions and payments even doctors, medics, who work in municipal hospital had not received supplies from Ukraine government since 2013!
In the "Separ" government, at least they provide us some food, or anything. We always hear this from the radios, from the Ukraine radios "oh we are providing people of East Ukraine food"
And then it never comes, Arseniy Yatsenyuk says on the page of Ukraine Embassy to United States official website, he calls us "inhumans."
Previously he mass labeled all of East Ukraine "terrorists" even to the point of calling us "dogs."
Yes, we are people of Ukraine.
      Slava Ukraina! Slava Donbass!

It’s hard to watch. What is the U.S. governments interest in assisting regime change, de facto running Ukraine, and flooding it with weapons? Exactly how did all this help American citizens? We trained and eventually armed their military to help them kill and devastate fellow Ukrainians in the east for 8 yrs. Sending billions of dollars worth of weapons to a country on Russia’s border, combined with our absolute insistence for Ukraine joining NATO and pushing them to an uncompromising policy with Russia, lead to their predictable destruction today. Everybody who knows anything has been warning us since 1997 where this would lead if we did not stop, and yet we doubled down at every chance. And we continue to double down even now. For what exactly? I can’t see any rational reason. Did our gov want war with Russia? They absolutely knew this would lead to it.
And did you hear the ambassador say we’re mainstreaming there volunteer militias? He’s referring to the Nazi militias that were eventually integrated into the Ukrainian national guard. They even made a nazi slogan the official Ukraine military slogan. So yeah we armed crazy violent nazis in Ukraine. What a mess…

I used to feel that way about my government's activities, but not anymore. Most of the US troops, and many of the people, really do have good intentions. Many outside the US don't realize, but the American *people* , in general, really do have good hearts and they want to help others make better lives. That is why they volunteer to go wherever they may be sent.
The problem is that all of us, in every country around the world, have allowed ourselves to be blinded by leaders with personal agendas. With the help of intelligence agencies and State Departments, they use the media to build false narratives which embolden us to start fighting each other. Things are not always as they seem, or as we are told. While we are busy killing each other, we cannot see what is really happening.
Usually, *the people have no victory in war*. The only ones who "win" are those who fooled us into fighting each other...and still, we continue to cheer them on like we are picking our favorite football teams.

The thing is that relationships between US and Mexico/Canada are cordial. And USA does not practice imperialism (well maybe some sort of economic but not military) like Putin´s Russia. There is no excuse for Putin´s invasion, nothing can justify the sheer destruction and loss of life result from it. USA did horrible things in middle east and elsewhere, but in Ukraine I am afraid without US/NATO support the nation would be over, joined with autocratic Russia. And what is worse, the history teaches us that after Ukraine my guess is Putin would invade Moldova and start threatening eastern wing of NATO. I am thankfull for Ukraians to fight so bravely.

A college professor told me that Soviet Union was a dictatorship for their public and was a democracy when it comes to lawmakers and the secretary general, and land gifts were not allowed between countries, unless signed by Secretary general and legally endorsed by two third of lawmakers (politburo members) . Any land gift from one country to another has to be signed by the common President (Khrushchev) and two third of lawmakers of the two countries in the union. Khrushchev never avoided Crimean delegates of citizens visiting him in his office in Moscow after 1954, saying those hidden documents do not have his signature. After the fall of communism, his children were subject to lynch mobs. He repeated to delegates that contrary to popular belief , that he never gifted Crimea from Russia to Ukraine by signing papers. He told them Russia still owns Crimea. The land transfer has to be signed by two third majority of all lawmakers of the two countries involved in a land grant, along with his signature. Two lawmakers, called MP or member of politburo) signed a typed letter with government letterhead in secrecy, one was a president of the duma foreign relations committee and other co-signer was a member of Duma. The document had said that the the two men were transferring Crimea from Russia to Ukraine. This is illegal. He told pretty all of the groups of delegates, every time that, contrary to popular belief, that he, Nikita Khrushchev, never gave or gifted Crimea from Russia - maps to Ukraine. He says he had once written an office memo one time at night when he came to the office. Next, the same year, Khrushchev, says he transferred salary funds and sources of salary and Crimea municipal expense funds from Russia treasury to Ukraine treasury. He told them that |Soviet were hidden from the public, and if he could reassure them, he cannot show them what the law say at the time. Khrushchev admitted that this may create confusion (or may not create confusion) in future if and when the Soviet Union broke up into individual nations. Khrushchev made it clear he never transferred the land-mass of Crimea from Russia to another country such as Ukraine. He transferred municipal expenses. It's like saying, the salaries of municipal town hall workers of Jackson, Mississippi will be coming from the government of Canada. Usually foreign workers of a neighboring country are not paid salaries by another country. But it can happen. It doesn't mean Canada owns Jackson, MS.

On the contrary, armies often go on "ambassador" missions. They're not there to help one way or another. You will see Chinese, Indian and other "neutral" countries come to Pacific ocean to have "tours" of the bases, airfields and ships. Even USA which has a long history of intervention does sometimes sit out of conflicts. Losses in Vietnam and Korea has softened USA stance on direct intervention. However, "ambassador" missions do help with close relations with possible allies. They dont always result in anything other than handshakes and exchange of good will.

6:04..... this General was right. This was just the start and 7 years later it seems that Ukranian forces are fighting Russian forces and in many instances are able to defeat them.

But still lost 4 territories despite being helped by NATO mercenaries weapons and funding 😂

@@marshalljulie3676 Nato is giving Ukraine like 5% of the total weapons they have. Ukraine lost those 4 south eastern territories because when Russia first invaded Ukraine on February 24th 2022 they did so from 11 different directions from inside Russia into Ukraine. Up north from Belarus east from Russia and up from Crimea in the South. Putin thought he would take Kyiv in 3 days. Ever since that failed Ukraine has liberated their lands. Sometimes very fast like last summer liberating Kharkiv and Kherson city but it will be a bit slower this time around to liberate all the rest of Ukraine including Crimea because once last winter came Russians had time to put up defensive positions like trenches , dragons teeth , land mines , and mobilized Russian convicts. So yes it won't be as fast as last summers counter offensive but Ukraine will liberate the remaining territories currently held by Russian forces. Russian troops should leave Ukraine and go to Moscow or wherever they live in Russia if they want to continue living.

@@jasonmardoniomeza1711 Maybe NATO should start giving one percent more? Because it's sure gonna help them to win

It doesn’t make sense to send regular airborne Units to a country to train their military, if i was to guess there are US Green Berets Special Forces within the bunch. Their main purpose of existence is to train foreign militaries in unconventional warfare, aka guerrilla warfare or a civil war👀. Russia is doing the same with FSB and Spetsnaz on the ground

No wonder the Russian did what they did. The main enemy US on its door step building bases and missile sites close to its border. Imagine if Russia or China did that in the Mexican or Canadian border US border. Russia had a very right to defend itself from the NATO aggression.

Brilliant reportage ! It asked questions and got answers. Has content and scenography and some little candidness too. Like being there on the ground.
