Today I Flew JetBlue and Southwest Airlines in order to find out how good and bad they actually were and what the differences were like! JetBlue and Southwest Airlines are both considered to be to of the best and most popular Airlines in all of the United States but how different can they really be?
In this video I show you everything from the check in, to the in flight experience and all the interactions with staff so we can truly see how each airline compares to one another!

Jet blue is great flight attendants are super nice
Just flew Southwest. It's been almost 10 years since I flew them, but with Boarding Group A I absolutely loved being one of the first
on the plane and picking out my seat. The boarding group line ups were a little chaotic, but overall I found the experience smooth!

@@oriondonoho8822 Seems like a pain to me, personally. I'm sure you get a lot of people asking you to switch them seats because they're with family or friends and want to sit together, so they expect other people to move because it isn't like you picked that seat when you booked. Doesn't seem worth it.
Fun fact: JetBlue actually started its roots from Southwest because the CEO came from Southwest. Even the service was similar before the pandemic: trays, notepads, etc. That's also jetblue's older interior with its (you were right) dated TV system. They have a newer entertainment system now!

Yeah, I fly Jetblue regularly and haven't seen these older cabin in a while, so they're definitely very close to phasing them out.

Southwest also offers early bird check-in. When you buy your ticket you can add that on for like $15-$20 and they’ll automatically check you in 24 hours before your flight. Typically that means you’re in the ‘A’ group,for boarding.
You still have to line up like cattle and there is always a knuckledragger who is the only one in his party to purchase this so he then waddles on the plane and saves seats for his family. No thank you.
@@granolagirl71 Yeah, seems very inconvenient. Families and friends in different boarding groups wanting to sit together, so they either try to save seats or they expect others to move so they can sit together. I'd rather just have assigned seating and not have to deal with all that.
It's always so interesting to hear someone's first time flying Southwest, as they are my go-to airline. Good thoughts and we're all equal on Southwest with everyone on the same class, plus you can't beat two free checked bags.

I think something that needs to be deeply thought of is that Southwest gives 2 free bags PER PERSON. I decided to travel Southwest with 4 other family members because of this reason. We were able to bring 9 check in bags for FREE. We most likely would've payed at least 5 times more than what we did if we flew on a different airline.
Agreed. Normally, I have a carryon and small backpack. However, when I fly around the holidays, the free checked bags or bags can be a huge factor. Also sometimes, if I have a long layover on SWA, I'll check the bag as it is free. Pay $8 for WiFi vs $25 or more for one checked bag.

But you do pay more base fare, so it really depends on your circumstances.
When I was little, my family would always fly southwest everywhere we went, so I thought that every airline used the “free for all” boarding method. When I was about 11, we had to take a longer flight so we flew with delta. I was absolutely dumbfounded when I found out that we had assigned seats.
I think the things that’s so interesting is how much Eric seems to like JetBlue but for me, I have never flown them without a 45 minute or more delay. The last time I flew them, I found so many problems it’s unreal.

My favorite part of southwest is the open seating. Also you can flight track live 👀 and the in flight on your phone is really nice
As an avid JetBlue flyer, they were awesome until the pandemic when my most frequent complaint was that there were so many delays without reasons and general overcrowding of their terminals (especially in Fort Lauderdale)
That is nothing new for JB. They have always been known for that.
They're still pretty good, with the negative reviews mostly having to do with delays.
They’re always late and the FLL location is so packed! They need a new terminal!

Amazing video Eric. I always love jetBlue and I think they are the best. I have been on jetBlue's newer planes like their A321neo and some a320's and the IFE is a lot better, it is a look newer and no seat remote and an interactive map :)
Also some flight attendants like to let you get two snacks not just one, even on full flights and you can always get up and go to the galley or the middle of the plane depending on what aircraft type you are on and just get some snacks and drinks
I flew JetBlue a lot of times and I never complained about it. However, I never flew Southwest.
Yeah I fly JetBlue way more than southwest and southwests free for all seating is not fun.

For me JetBlue is the only airline I fly, except when I fly international, then it's usually. AerLingus or Brussels Airlines

Both Delta and JetBlue are fantastic in their different ways but one thing I like better about JetBlue is that basic economy booking still allows seat choices for a fee, while Delta doesn’t allow seat choices on basic economy.
Hats off to you Eric!! Going through a breakup is NOT easy and still powering through and working on your craft says a lot!👏🏾. I’ve never flown JetBlue before so this was nice to see but I’m a HUGE Southwest fan! All of my flights around the U.S. normally are either Southwest or United flights with the occasional Delta. Southwest is a funny style for sure but I kind of like it haha and if you’re traveling solo, even better! Hope you enjoyed your time back in the states and can’t wait for the next video!:)

Love these videos. They are very informative. Flights taken earlier in the day will be cleaner. Because the cabins of the aircraft are cleaned at night. Usually only the trash is taken out. In-between flights during the day. So flights taken later in the day . Will generally be dirtier inside the cabin ( passenger seating area)..

Southwest is awesome actually. That's all my grandparents have flown and they flew private jets sometimes but they always loved it. The open seating stuff is also amazing too, first come first serve stuff. Low cost flights for actually a nice quality. Never had a super bad experience with them, weirdest thing was a guy falling asleep on my mothers shoulder.
I should mention I'm tall and it's still fairly enjoyable.
I feel like the issues you have are related to he being an international traveler. The baggage counter people in most airlines are there to collect bags and then the gate agents are usually the only ones who can change seats/upgrades. JetBlue is amazing onboard but 90% they’re late Post Covid or Pre-Covid. I like them and Delta the most.

Regarding Arline reviews, I think it’s important to separate reviews regarding the flight itself and customer support. As some one who has never needed to contact any airline customer support I focus more on the flight reviews. Hence why I think JetBlue has the best flight experience. .
I’ve flown on both Southwest and JetBlue. I usually fly Southwest because they don’t charge for bags but JetBlue seats are a little more comfortable than Southwest.

I like both airlines. I love that JetBlue offer free wifi. But if I had to choose a favorite I will choose Southwest. Southwest customer service always excellent and you could check in two bags and carry on one bag and personal bag for free. Also free texting and entertainment. Yes the wifi cost but its only $8 not bad at all.Good video I really enjoy
I pay the early bird charge on Southwest. Always board in group A and always on fly non-stops. Never an issue 👍

I’ve never flown jet blue, but I have flown Southwest for so many years. I thought about flying jet blue, but they assign seats. Southwest lets you pick your own seat, plus they don’t charge for baggage. I carry mine on board. Great video.😊😊😊
You can pick a seat on Jet Blue. Before the flight. In the app. So you don't have to line up like cattle.
Jet Blue doesn't assign your seat unless you fail to pick it yourself. When you book the flight, you pick which seat you want. I find that much more convenient than the mad rush to get your preferred seat at boarding.
Most of the planes are updated with an interactive map and entertainment system I think it depends on the route! Love JetBlue

I think there is something wrong bc at takeoff the wing was sharklet which is curved and now it’s a different one for landing. This is for the JetBlue flight.

Something similar happened to me on JetBlue almost 2 months ago while flying from LAX -> FLL, they said that the Fly-Fi ( the internet ) wasn't going to be working but it was when we were cruising weird but still was a good flight!

Southwest has always been good. They are a good airline and I’m hoping to work for them one day as a customer service agent in Denver. So Eric? I had flown with Jetblue numerous times and I love the service I get from them. Where I currently lived for school didn't had Jetblue till recently (Tallahassee International). When I heard they had included Jetblue up here, Im so happy Jetblue added a route up here since I am planning to go home for spring break (rather fly for an hour and a half down to SFL than drive for 6 and 1/2 hrs) Plus I did find that Jetblue being this nice for its class, tends to be cheaper when I would fly with them. I gotta try Southwest someday.

Hey Eric, I advice you try fly Cayman Airways? They are around Cayman Brac, Little Cayman, Grand Cayman, Miami, New York, Tampa, Denver, Los Angeles, Cuba Havana, Jamaica, Kingston, Montego Bay, and Honduras, La Ceiba. Cayman Airways is an excellent airline, but with no entertainment. Hope you take my advice.

Normally, I lurk. Hot Tip for Southwest, at least for airports like Burbank Hollywood where you board on the tarmac, it boards both in the front and back. If you don’t have the favorable boarding position enter the back. You can work your way to the front or stay in the back. When you need to disembark, so much easier through the back. So going to Burbank, being in the back is great. I fly Southwest and Spirit regularly. I consider Southwest the luxury one while Spirit is budget.
