  • I recently upgraded to a different style trailer. I had be using an H&H heavy landscape trailer, but now have moved on to a Load Trail gravity tilt equipment trailer. I also touch on some other options I had considered, and why I decided against them.

Thank you for your time in making this video. I've also wanted a new trailer. Mine is the typical landscape trailer with a heavy tailgate. I like yours.

Nice trailer. Mine is a beaver tail and it drags everywhere. I want to build a new one with hydraulic beaver tail

I saw one of that at a different dealer. Interesting concept.

Nice trailer Bud! You should go to work selling trailers for them LOL. I'll bet you've sold three trailers for them just with this video!!! :-) I think you'll be happy with your new trailer, and I hope it serves you well. I can't tell you how glad I am that you didn't get a P.J. I've had SEVERAL P.J.'s, and I'll never own another one. If you look at their welds, they're terrible, and they leave the splatter all over the place and just powder coat right over it, and their powder coating itself is the worst I've ever had. It started chipping almost immediately when I had them. To me, the P.J.'s finishes just don't hold up to the Mid-West's Winters worth a darn. I think you'll be MUCH happier with what you've gotten. I hope so!
Also, I would BET that you can get two pallets of firewood bags on there with you. One on the stationary deck, and then maybe you'd be able to back the tractor onto the trailer with another bag on the forks? I forget, are your rear tires loaded? If so, you could definitely back onto the trailer and manage to take two skids of firewood with you.

After my test load I agree. I'd need to back on with one on the forks. My tires aren't loaded. Something I've been waiting to do after I upgraded trailers just because I was so close to limit on the old trailer

What happened to your little tractor with the grapple? Nice trailer by the way

I traded that off last summer. Needed one with a bit more lift capacity. I do miss that little monster though. It would not lift full 1/3 cord bulk firewood bags as a tractor that size shouldn't. Changed my process a bit to save time stacking and loading for sale. Lots of videos showing this progress in the past year. Thanks for stopping in!

Im shopping for a subcompact tractor with a grapple and found your videos. Im clearing brush on our overgrown woods all the time and tired of stacking burn piles by hand. Glad you put out the videos on the little tractor. Kioti dealership kind of looked at me funny when i asked about a 3rd function and grapple on their smallest tractor. If it wasnt for the cords of firewood aspect, and you would be just moving rounds and brush would you have kept it?

@@edgeoftheforesthomestead602 if it wasn't for the small size and what I needed to do, yes, I'd still have it.

I’ve just been thinking about getting a tilt trailer lately…

@MowSowGrow3 So back in the day I had an Aluma full tilt deck, 12 ft. if memory serves. I knew I loved the ease of loading and unloading with a tilt deck. I just needed something with a bit more capacity since upgrading to the DK tractor. Now I have a decent cushion on capacity. Hopefully this video gave a little bit of insight on my thought process anyway and helped you out.
