@@LarryMayvidlmao that's what everyone says every time Jones fights his next opponent. Time after time after time after time hes gone in there and NEVER been beat. Everyone has an opinion but your opinion is wrong.
I don't think he's the goat specifically because of the shady shit he did. You can throw out soo many of his supposed accomplishments because of his cheating and outside manipulating factors that ruin the integrity of the competition. He is undeniably good but he wouldn't be who he is today without fans/officials/the organization looking the other way while he eye pokes and does cheap rat tactics, steroids, and receives a litany of various forms of favoritism from the ufc and their judges. Thats argument simply can't be made because of what he did and what he got that others in a soo called fair and unbiased contest of mma prowess didn't get. Nobody would "make sure Reyes get the decision". So we will literally never know because he couldn't do it without the help otherwise he'd be squeaky clean beyond reproach laughing at us making excuses about his greatness.

@@brandonburker7330 There's nothing wrong with having missed the Reyes fight, I went to sleep after Costa vs. Rockhold because I was expecting another boring five round decision by Usman, so I've been there. Or maybe you're a more recent fan (which is awesome if so, I love seeing the fanbase grow), and may have seen a decent handful of his fights but mostly just know his record. That said, he *very* clearly lost to Reyes, and it was probably the biggest robbery in modern UFC history, at least by way of importance. There have been more lopsided robberies, but it was the most important highly lopsided robbery. The LHW and HW divisions, and in all likelihood MW as well, would've had different trajectories. Virtually *everyone*, literally all but the absolute very most hardcore Jones meat riders and media shills, agreed that Reyes won. We can say definitively that it was a robbery because the go-to argument by those meat riders and shills was "the last two rounds mean more," which is inherently an admission that he lost the first three.
In fairness I will definitely say that, like all of the greats, his worst performances are when he underestimates his opponent and thinks they will be a layup, and that may very well have been the case with the Reyes fight. Although he did also barely beat (or arguably lost to, it was a coin toss) Santos, who blew out his knee during the fight and had to fight the rest on one leg, before that. However, if we're gonna say he will certainly beat Stipe, that has to be a core part of why we're saying it, and then we have to say that he's not underestimating Stipe. Then, it's pretty clear that if we follow that logic, that obviously means that he's taking Stipe very seriously. Which would then mean that he isn't just trying to get an easy win over a big name. Personally, I'd say that's accurate. For a psycho with the level of success he's had, he is *relatively speaking*, pretty humble. Obviously, when talking trash, like everyone else who talks trash, he talks like he can destroy anyone and everyone. But, when asked about who he considers to be the goats, he's never put himself in that conversation, and many have put themselves in it. The simple fact that he patiently and respectfully listened to Cejudo trying to coach him with some of the most basic and obvious tips out there says something just by itself. Cejudo, of course, is notorious for having dubbed himself the greatest combat sports athlete of all time.
Or, if you and the vast majority are correct in saying that he is just going for an easy win, then he is underestimating Stipe and may very well lose. You really can't have it both ways. Either he is taking him very seriously and thinks he is a big threat, and will prepare accordingly and may well have a dominant win, or he isn't and doesn't and Stipe may very well put his lights out.

Rampage is correct. Jon isn't what he used to be, and Stipe has serious power, better boxing, and can wrestle.
My big question right now: how will you feel about Jon fighting Tom after he loses to Stipe? Will you still want him to as much, or will you want Stipe to stick around for one more and fight Tom? If so, who should Jon fight, or should he retire? If Stipe retires and Jon doesn't, I do think he will almost certainly fight Tom, to try and salvage his legacy. Imo, it would be better for his legacy to fight Tom and lose than to not fight him at all.
