Forging Fanged Fury: A Serpent Inspired Viking Seax for The Viking Challenge

- čas přidán 19. 04. 2024
- In this video, we set out to create Viking Seax with a serpentine mosaic Damascus blade.
From the process of pattern welding to etching, every step of the journey is covered in creating a snake-themed mosaic Damascus Viking Seax. But there’s more to the story. At the request of two legendary warriors from the past: Ragnar and Bubba will the Seax be created. While Ragnar embodies the cunning and strength of a true Viking warrior, Bubba brings his own unique flair with his special skills and, well, let's just say, "distinctive" personality. He also introduces a “secret ingredient”. With final testing conducted by none other than Bubba himself, prepare for a dose of humor and unexpected surprises as he puts the Seax through its paces. Despite his bumbling antics, Bubba's skills with a Seax are unparalleled, adding a touch of chaos to our otherwise meticulous craftsmanship. So grab your mead horn and prepare for a laugh.

Thanks for watching and please vote for your favorite build in the description. I’m a judge on this one so I’m not on the voting form. Thanks!
Man! Bubba stole the show at the end during the cut tests! Beauty of a build Tony!
Thank you my friend! Bubba in for the save. 😂😂
That character needs to be in a film about a hillbilly viking stuck out of time and trying to get back to his ancestral homelands in Valhalla Holler' Mississippi...hilarious! Lol!
Ha ha yes tgat woukd be awesome! 😂🙂
Gorgeous work Tony! Amazing skill with your forging and pattern welds!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
lol.. I love these. Beautiful Seax, hilarious extra touches.
Thank you sir! I’m glad you got a chuckle too. 🙂😂
By far the best seax I’ve seen in CZcams and believe me I’ve watched them all
Thank you! I appreciate the compliments! 🙂
The cut test was hilarious! Gotta love bubba, seax looks awesome! Excellent work Tony!
Thanks brother! Yeah Bubba has an extra set of skills. 😂😂
Great video! Beautiful knife and great humor at the end! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks! And you’re welcome! Glad you got a laugh 😂 I appreciate you watching!
Ahah! That was awesome man. Love it. The black serpent looks absolutely terrific!
Thank you my friend, I appreciate it!
NICE DRAMATICS!!!
Thanks buddy! 🙂
That cut test at the end was brilliant!! You shared alot of your knowledge in this one, thank you.
Thank you! Bubba has a broad set and f skills. 😂
That was awesome!! The blade is beautiful! Bubba was his old self and Chris just keeps getting better and better. He nailed the Viking part. Love it!!!
Thanks brother, I appreciate it!
I appreciate your step-by-step explanations very much. Beautiful blade, and adjusting the tiles to get the snake correctly lined up makes so much sense, I'm surprised other makers don't talk about this process.
Thank you! Yes it is important and sometimes something shifts and they still don’t line up perfectly. The key is to cut them as square as possible.
Eye catching Damascus Tony. I like it. And it is not refined to much as would be expected from Vikings. Well done!😃
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words! 🙂🙂
beautiful work Tony, watching that pattern come together is like alchemy
those are some pretty impressive viking skills too dude....the veggies never stood a chance 😁
Thank you my friend, I appreciate it. Yeah but is a veggie king! 😂
Hahaha man the story line is top notch! Love the build sir.
Thank you James, I appreciate it. 🙂
Beautiful blade and i learned a lot from your video. Thank you.
Thank you my friend. 🙂
I gotta say, I LOVE Bubba! 😂. Amazing build, my friend! ❤
Thanks brother. 😁
This was my favorite video so far! Super funny and entertaining! Keep up the great work Mr. Severio!
Thank you my friend, I appreciate you watching! 🙂
You gain a new viewer today! Comedic genius and blade smith! What a combo!
Thank you, I appreciate that! 🙂
Wow! I'm impressed by both the complexity of that build and the amazing result. I must also say that the slashing ability of Bubba was also great.
Many thumbs up Tony! And thanks a lot for this educative and funny video!
Thank you my friend, I appreciate the kiddos! I’ll let Bubba know as well. 😁
What a beautiful knife. I absolutely love the pattern. ~Kevin
Thank you Kevin!
Great job Tony! Another absolutely beautifully made blade you've done. Im not generally a fan of seax blades but i will admit that i find this one to be quite impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you my friend, I appreciate it. Yeah I’m not a fan either. They are pretty useless for anything other than zombies lol. Kinda like swords. They look great but useless today. I make using knives day to day but for these challenges it’s just for fun. Thanks for watching my friend. 🙂
EXCELLENT video friend ! A wealth of information and tips as well as entertaining ! Good job you !
Thank you my friend, I appreciate it! 🙂
This intro is GOLD.
Thanks! Did you see the end?
Great work Tony!!!! Love bubbas game face!!! 😂
Thank you my friend! Bubba can make some faces. 😂
That is a stunning blade. Your pattern lined up beautifully.
Thanks! Had some issues with alignment on one side but overall ok. Thank you 🙂
Great job Tony! Love the design. Enjoyed the side story! Remind me not to piss Chris off! And Bubbas got skills on sharpness test!😂
Thank brother! lol yeah Ragnar has Bubba around for a reason. 😂😂
I’ve only seen the intro so far but I’m looking forward to seeing the rest! One video I will watch until the end!
Cool thanks. The ending is epic. 😁
That turned out absolutely amazing 👍 I do have to admit that I was worried about letting bubba test the blade. I was surprised that he didn't end up getting stitches 😂
Thanks brother! lol, the only reason Ragnar has him by his side is because of his specific set of skills. 😂😂
❤😂 I’ve watched this about 3 times and it’s still solid gold.
Ha! Thanks man!
I love watching your videos! Always entertaining and full of great blacksmithing content.
Thanks Luke, I appreciate that and thanks for watching!

Never seen any of your videos before and after watching one knife making channel you basically don't need to watch another. So you can guess what I originally expected as I started to watch.......... how wrong I was, you got a thumbs up from me within 2 minutes. Great video will check out your channel 👍👍

Thank you! I appreciate that!
Beautiful blade Mr Tony. I’m sure you guys had to do several takes to keep from laughing! Great job and good luck!
Thanks my friend. Yes there’s always some chuckles. 🙂😁
Really beautiful, a real piece of silverware. And I’m French, and you know that the French have a reputation for yelling and criticizing and believe me when I say you have golden hands, what do I say diamond. I would dream one day of having a knife forged by your hands and I would dream, one day, of being as good as you, for I go into the forge. ( Sorry for google translate )
Thank you my friend, I appreciate the kind words. And thanks for watching! 🙂🙂
That's a beautiful knife!!
Thank you!
Beautiful looking blade bro. And good luck 🍀
Thank you my friend!
Outstanding.

Thank you Matt! I appreciate it! 🙂
Beautiful bladeTony. Only thing missing was slicing cornbread. lol.
Thank you! Yes you right! 😂
Вопрос - а разве были мечи\ножи древних времен, сделанные по ТАКОЙ технологии? Думаю, нет.
Answer…No. but that was not the intent. Everyone else understood that….
@@TonySeverioKnives Да, новый шаг -это не всегда плохо. А спросил потому, что сам не все знаю -может быть, нашли что-то, о чем я не читал и не слышал.
С уважением.
Yo bubba is badass, he would be a very unassuming npc until you poke with an averge lvl 20 sword because of arrogance.
Thanks. 🙂😁
Hilarious. Beautiful veggie knife!
Thank you! 😁😁
Exellent video, thank you. 😂
Thank you and thanks for watching!! 🙂
Cause you are a judge, I cant vote for you. But you win ! Next time please Show more of the finish knife, that was to short for me. But greate Job and craftmanship, perfect !!! You got my sub

Thank you my friend, I appreciate it! Will do. 🙂
@sperber-knives it will be changed after an hour or so. 🙂
@@TonySeverioKnives thanks ! 👍I think you'll reach more viewers that way
@sperber-knives thanks. Yeah it’s just the initial thumb. I have four different ones to rotate out. 🙂
Good job Tony. Are you going to Atlanta this year??
Thanks! Yes I plan to be there. No table but I’ll be walking around. 😁
I vote for tyrell
Great! Can’t vote for me, I’m a judge on this one. But you don’t have to announce it. 😁😂
"It will cut." 😂
But will it keal?
😀😄🙂
Beautiful blade! Such a pity that the tang is welded, as that compromises the overall integrity of the weapon.
Thanks! Won’t hurt it at all. It’s welded then annealed together.
Ахахахах! Классно Шварценегра подкололи)))
Thanks! 🙂🙂
No cornbread recipe….. darn.
Bubba is slacking! 😂😁🙂
Beans and Cornbread
All the way! 😂😂
Why the silly horned helmet? Viking never historically wore horns.
Because I wanted to. No one said in this video they wore horned helmets. In case it went over your head, it was satire.
😂😂😂 you don' it right
😁😁
Actor))
😁😁
@@TonySeverioKnives this is a compliment, sorry for my inglish. I wanted to say: that he is a talented person, talented in everything. that's how Google translated it
@mmmmm9138 thank you. 🙂🙂
Nice joke about Schwartz
Thank you! 🙂
這老師傅跟兩個憨兒子,,,
Yes! 😁😁
Lovely pattern 👍
Thanks!
Wow!...Love your work.....I'm Speechless bud.I have no or poor equipment.I make swords,Knives,Axes,Battle axes,But i'm afraid next to your skill and equipment i fee like a RETARD?
Thank you. 🙂. The equipment just makes it more efficient. I did it for many years with much of nothing. Check out the video where I made a knife from a file with just an angle grinder. I wouldn’t call yourself a retard though. 🙂
