    Truly beautiful work! It's very reasuring to see another bladesmith having HUGE problems during the build, and still managing to come out with an awesome final piece! The burl wood that you've used for the handle is amazing! I saw the finished sword, and I honestly thought that you'd made the handle from malachite!

      Thanks! There sure were struggles. Still wish it didn't wind up short, but it did turn out nice. Thanks again

      Thanks! I did struggle but tried to adapt and overcome the obstacles. I wish the blade was still 25, but I do like the way it turned out.

    That looks so good. It reminds me of a snake once you got it all glossy to show that acid finish. It's like a sword fit for Reptile from Mortal Kombat. Cool stuff indeed.

    The struggle with the copper was real, such a narrow temperature window! Nonetheless you made a truly outstanding piece, great job man!

    • @tutorknives
      @tutorknives  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I've made quite a few now. Welding solid all the way around sure helps, but yes- temp is super crucial! : cheers

    Delamination, always the biggest problem with pattern forged blades, then made doubley difficult by adding copper into the mix.... but the end result with the contrasting colours of the copper and steel, makes it really worth the work!

    Not an Ulfberth... - those have the word Ulfberth inlayed in the blade.
    Never understood, why anyone would introduce cupper in a blade, it weakens the steel, and obviously makes the forging a nightmare.
    Nice result, though. 👍

      Bruh if you critique this which isobvously not viking design then make one! Don’t listen to this andy you adapted to the problem and which differs to the plan but still made an awesome pattern
