  • 10 cone dribbling exercises incorporating the sole of the foot. The sole is used in numerous different pulls, turns and skill moves within a soccer game, so it’s essential to be comfortable with this part of the foot, and the fundamental exercises in this video will help you do just that.

Exercise 1: Use only the sole of your foot to tap the ball forward and around the cones. Keep a bounce to your step and build a steady rhythm with your touches
Exercise 2: Is similar, but now pull the ball with the soles of your feet going in a backwards direction.
Exercise 3: Use the sole of your right foot only to tap the ball around the cones.
Exercise 4: Use the sole of your left foot only to tap the ball around the cones.
Exercise 5: Using your right foot only, roll the ball across with your sole, then quickly tap out with the outside of the same foot. Focus taking one touch to get in between cones
Exercise 6: Is the same, but now use your left foot only to perform the movement.
Exercise 7: Roll the ball across with the sole of one foot, then control with the inside of the other foot and repeat.
Exercise 8: Roll the ball in lightly with the sole of one foot then quickly tap out with the other foot.
Exercise 9: Roll the ball across with your sole, then quickly perform a double tap with the insides of your feet, and repeat the other way.
Exercise 10: Role the ball across continuously with the sole of your right and left foot while taking only 1 touch to get in between the cones.

I love the way you incorporated the use of the sole. The young girl who is demonstrating makes it look so easy. Knowing how to use the sole of the foot is an important tool in becoming a good dribbler. It’s not being taught enough to players.
