Disappointing, but good observation on the engine..live to fly another day w/o major repairs. That is one big batt btw - look forward to future updates
HH, I've just got word from an acquaintance who does marketing for Multiplex in Germany and he says that the Twinstar II will be kept in production for the foreseeable future, which is a big yay for me since I've just managed to do my FPV maiden. It flies so well, I'm hooked and what with FPV bad day's I may need a healthy supply of spares. Cheers!
should I pull epoxy balsa sides out? seems like a lotta work.. they are in there pretty tight.. I kinda just want to change out the front plate.. not the sides.. Thanks for commenting!!
you may be fine with leaving the balsa on the sides. what i would do if its a PIA to remove the side balsa is to just re enforce them with ply. glue it to the side balsa thats there. over time balsa well weaken even more then it is now
already been bit.. good idea.. and No.. I didnt balance the apc props.. they normally come good but I am sure that won't hurt!! I was disappointed with how it flew.. but next time will be much better!! Thanks.
Great flight
Had the twinstar 1. Many happy memories
Nice Maiden, id like to get my hands on one of those..yea use 1/8th ply for the mounts...even the sides..;0)
Thanks for sharing.
just one think: 1100 Kilovolts??? :-D
KV in this case means rpm when 1 Volt is applied to the motor.
Cheers!
Balsa motor mounts! What did you think was going to happen?

disconnect your battery before handling the motor/prop........you are going to get bit one day. BTW...did you balance the props?
Mounting the motors on this thing is a real nightmare
Thanks!! cant wait to get the bugs worked out on this plane so I can put camera in and do fpv!!
