So when he asks “should Bert have set the arm after it’s broken” the answer is yes, he should have done that. And Bert acted on instinct, but he could have saved Tom from tissue death in his arm.
I like hearing him talk about the nerve damage risk from moving his arm, but not the risks he put himself through by leaving the hospital to go sleep on his damn couch lol

The atrophy is a real psychological hurdle. In college I was lifting 2-4hrs a day 6-7 days a week and I had an ACL surgery, a hernia surgery, and a broken hand during that time. The hernia and acl I came back no problem, but Breaking my hand fucked me up to wear I stopped lifting because I couldn’t lift 20lbs for more than 5 reps with that arm
Wow, just came across this one. Brings back memories. I was in a car accident when I was 19 years old . I was crossing 4 lanes of traffic as they were all stopped in downtown traffic. This young 17 year old girl in the farthest lane was going 55 in a 30 trying to race up to the turn light so she could turn before it went red. I didnt see her and she didnt see me crossing. Smacked me right in the driver-side wheel. My left shoulder and arm slammed into the door. She hit me so hard the car spun 60 ft from where I was originally crossing the street at. The force was as such that the driver-side struts were smacked into the engine block. car obviously totaled. The moral of the story is the shoulder hitting the door. I did not go immediately to the hospital I as well went straight home and laid on the couch. Until the next day, when the pain from my shoulder was just as bad as the moment of impact. I decided to finally hit up the hospital. In the Xrays that were done. They showed that two of the 3 outer ligaments were completely severed, cut completely in half. The outer two ligaments control the Arm across the chest movement and the, Arm over the head movement. I could NOT for the life of me manage to do those motions with my left arm on its own power. I could only get my arm to go across my chest and over my head with the support of my right hand doing the moving. I as well declined surgery at the hospital I went to and just slinged my arm. It has sense healed, however, I am now almost 34 years old. And have issues sleeping on my left shoulder, lifting weights with my left arm and so on. Never in my life have I ever felt that kind of pain. It was mostly the pain from trying to move the arm on its own power. that is when all the pain in the world would crash down on me. It was just not going to happen. But soon as I Grab my left arm with my right hand and pull the left arm up and over. That is when it would not hurt as much. I was on Lortabs and Percocet's at the time for pain. Which didnt help me very much AT ALL lol. It has taken years though, for me to recover, and its still fully not quite there and probably never will be, sense I refused surgery. Im not about to have some freakin metal all up inside me if I can help it. No thank u. But thats just me. Anyways, just wanted to share how I feel Toms pain when listening to him tell his story. Reminds me all to much of my own.
Broke my pelvis 6 months ago and I feel this struggle so much I agree that no one really prepares you for the emotional part of things or keeping your mind on track... plus you're alone so much all you have is time with yourself to really think which is the last thing I needed... but I am walking now with no wheelchair or walker! It may take a long time but it does get better
I've had the patellar dislocation injury in my left knee four times, three from basketball, once while about to jump just like Tom. However, thank God, I never had such a bad arm injury as a result. The worst was a dislocation in my left wrist. I've had a surgery to fix the ligament and a follow-up one, but still I'm not comfortable with my knee. It ain't pretty.
I agree with you on the size differences after surgery. I've had 2 operations on my left knee, and one on my left shoulder, and it was alienating seeing the difference

Props to Segura highlighting the fact that PT's are the closest medical professional to you during the recovery and giving the recognition to your PT. Rehab is looking great btw, stay grinding!
Yep, nurses & pt's are your left & right hands when you need to heal & regain function, very underrated, so many people would live suffering if not for their work 🙌💯⚡
I’ve done PT twice. Both times they were absolutely jokes. What’s on the agenda for today, twiddling your thumbs? Seriously I can do all this stuff and home and it’s not helping but the bills are coming. It’s a circus
The professionalism of his doctor to not piss himself laughing when Tom told him how he snapped it
@@generallobster One thing you seem to not know is that Tom waited for the very reason you said he should. Right after you said he shouldn't. Good stuff bro.
@@generallobster there’s a lot of fuckery going on with surgery in the US because they’re salesmen as well.
So funny how Joe acts how bad it is to watch it meanwhile in his past episodes he was cracking up putting it on replay with the fellas. 🤣
I'm so glad he's better and almost fully recovered.
Joe said "can you do a chin up?" 🤣
Bro, he just said he couldn't move his wrist a month ago 🤣
💀🤣🤣🤣
Tom probably couldnt do a single chin up before his injury 😂
Plus he’s so fat that he broke his whole body trying to jump.
@@gregkosinski2303 bro he dunked on a 9 foot rim successfully during a dunk contest, i really don’t think he’s that fat
@@gregkosinski2303 yep and athletes who train all the time and up with severe injuries as well, often from doing silly things as the muscles and tendons etc get overworked. So, it is what it is: plus, he’s not that fat.
It feels like they’re on two different sets with the backgrounds
Yes watching on my phone in bed and I get either blasted by neon to the dark setting with Tim. Like a disco in here
You’re right, it’s like tom is somewhere else
Joe needs to go back to the old days...Spotify ruined it for us.
Is it just backdrop screens, like green screen stuff?
Knowing how much Tom enjoys laughing at injuries I had no shame about cracking up at this video for months
I never knew Joe was such a spin doctor. As soon as Joe said, “didn’t you do squats the day before” I was cracking up. Tom won’t recover from this new image he’s shown us.
The guy who designed the old set has gotta be feelin a little bummed out right about now

For real haha... bad place to put it
Tom: "I slept on the couch."
Rogan: "OH MY GOD."
Elon: "Tell me more about it."
So a buddy of mine told me he had to sleep on the couch
There just something about the thumbnail that always makes me laugh. This has been poppin up over and in my recommendeds 🤣🤣
That fall and image is the funniest thing Tom Segura has done in his comedy career 😂
Tom correcting the way he says “won” is a huge step in the right direction
"whan"
lmaooo
So awesome that he corrected it because he is so used to getting hammered by the YMH crew hahaha
Glad I'm not the only juan who caught that!
Him addressing us directly as he corrected himself was hilarious.😂
7:30 they are both millionaires and Bert finds the $50 guy!! 😂😂😂🤣
That’s how you stay rich
Haha classic Bert! Love the guy!
Now imagine Tom wakes up after going home with a broken body, and sees a bag of chips and bottle of calcium supplement ("helps build strong bones"), because that's exactly what Bert got for him, according to Tom.
I died when I watched Tom go up for that dunk. It looked like he slipped on a banana peel from a cartoon. And Tom had segments on his show your mom’s house laughing at people getting hurt, so I don’t want to hear, “oh you’re an asshole” lol.
That mechanic is laughing his ass off watching tom fall. LOL
What makes you think you aren't an asshole? Like just because he was being an asshole doesn't somehow mean you're not an asshole for doing the exact same thing he was doing? Are you like 5 years old or just mentally slow?

“Can you do a chin up” segura ponders for a quick sec “couldn’t before, definitely can’t now”
Underrated comment hahahaha
I was thinking the same thing
It hit me to... my prediction in my head thought he was going to say: "no... not because of the injuries though" ... lol. He missed that opportunity. when he talks about the injuries, he doesn't joke around at all; you can tell its really done a number on him
😂😂😂
Yea really Joe? What a Fucken stupid question
I love how he assumes a “slam dunk contest” would sound normal to everyone 😅
