    Hi
This car came to me as a non runner, crank no start.
    A quick scan, revealed a P0685...
What looked to be a bit more complicated, soon after some investigation, was easy repairable...
    Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.

Great diagnostic skills, however I’m confused why did the car not start initially when you bypassed the main relay ?

Most likely that broken wire was feeding something else required for the engine to start...

    Nice video mate !
I did not have the same issue but i used your diagram for the Simtec MS 75 ECU system (Opel uses more systems).
Low voltage to engine ECU - Replace ECU code - Brake lights on all the time.
Checked all the powers and had a wire with 2.8 V on it. Corrosion in de taped part next to the connector. Fixed the wire and it runs again.
I post this for a future reader with the fault. The break lights go on by the ecu, i think it runs on can low, did not see anything in the can signal.
    Cheers people !

@@LMAutoRepairs Can I ask a question? You look like a guy good guy. I have an Opel Astra F, from 1996. I keep it in good condition, and I heard noise from the clutch, and transmission. I went to a mechanic, to change the clutch set, and probably the whole transmission, cause its cheaper that way for me. After the oil change and the transmission swap, I have low oil pressure, it lights up, and I can even hear sometimes the engine is dry.
Wtf? Is this just a coincidence, that the oil pump just went out right after the fix, or did they fuck up something?

Im having such a weird issue with my 2007 astra 1.6 sxi.
It cranks but wont start 1st try , 2nd try it fires right up.
I had code for camshat sensor so i replaced it and it was great for about a week then started doing it again.
So i swapped out the NEW top camshaft senor with my old 1 and once again , it started 1st time everytime for about a week and then went back to cranking but no start on 1st turn of the key.
It is obvioulsy intermittent but changing out the top camshaft sensor seems to fix it for week or so ????
    Im stumped lol....

The starter motor is good and there is continuity between the relay and the starter. I followed your diagnosis porcedure to check continuity between the main relay and ECU, and it has continuity. Wouldnt it have been faster to check the main relay control wire by putting test light to power and removing relay and checking at control wire pin to see if computer lights test light proving that it is controlling relay rather than unplug computer and finding wire with continuity check?

    Hi @Lmautorepairs
Wondering if you can possibly help in guiding me with your knowledge.
I have a 2009 Astra H 1.8 petrol which has a cold starting issue. It struggles to start and will cut off first few goes but once it starts and warms up the starting issue goes away untill the next cold start. Also smells of petrol and mpg is very very bad. Exhaust lets out excess amount of fluids/steam? No fault codes, has had new plugs and new coil pack. Evap is doing what it needs to. On live data short fuel trim is between -9 to +5 and also showing as running lean.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před rokem +1

      Hi
If is running lean check for air leaks... or blocked injectors... but if you say is running on once warmed, I would be more inclined for an air leak somewhere...
