  • When we think of breakfast cereals, there is one dominant player in the market that comes to mind - Kelloggs. With over 25 different varieties catering to both adults and kids, the brand is well recognized worldwide. This is the brand that has been to the moon! Yes, you heard it right. The Apollo 11 astronauts brought a Kellogg cereal to the moon, as part of their breakfasts during the mission.
This is the story of the founder, Keith Kellogg who was born on April 7, 1860, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Ann Janette and John Preston Kellogg as the seventh of their 16 children. From a young age, Will was interested in business and used to go door to door trying to sell his father's broomsticks, and even dropped out of school in his mid-teens to join the business.
Will left his father's broomstick business and joined his brother as the business manager since John could not manage its routine operations alone. John’s methods to 'cure' patients from various illnesses would include shocking their eyeballs, shaking, vibrating, and even beating them.
Believe it or not, people loved going to him for treatment, he grew to a point where he treated approximately 1300 people a year, and that was only the beginning; the number just kept growing as the months passed.
Will started experimenting with new foods, trying to establish healthy vegetarian foods to serve the patients. He had excellent persuasive skills that he had picked up during his time working with his father, and he also helped market the cereals to the target consumers.
Today, Kelloggs sells various cereal and convenience foods, including cookies, crackers, toaster pastries, cereal bars, and fruit-flavored snacks. The company's products are manufactured in 18 countries and marketed in over 180 countries.
There is so much more to this story that will leave you inspired, so keep watching this video till the end to learn more about the brand’s history.

The Kellogg Company will sell Club, Cheez-It and Pringles to Ferrero SpA for $5 billion and acquire Mondelez International and Mars, Inc. as well as Unilever-owned Good Humor-Breyers for $8.2 billion, so Post will then sell Oreo O’s to Kellogg’s. As a result, Kellogg’s, Mondelez and Mars will form a giant company called the KMM Company.

I'm not sure where you got your facts from, but more research should be done about how the "Flakes" we discovered and who / when milk was thought to be added. I question the use of the video graphics; like some old stills and then some very modern file footage...I wasn't even going to comment on the video graphics, but I was almost outraged when I saw the use of the Masturbation example? What were you thinking? What audience are you trying to appeal to? What if I was 10 years old and researching the Kellogg's for a school project? The fact about John Harvey's odd obsession with stopping masturbation is accurate, but REALLY? Too much. Shame on you.
