- Who was John Harvey Kellogg? He was a Seventh-day Adventist physician, health promoter, nutritionist, inventor, author, eugenicist, and entrepreneur. He was also one of the most controversial figures in Seventh-day Adventist history. Why was his life so controversial? And why was he eventually disfellowshipped from the church? Sobering lessons to learn from a bright light that went out.
When Dr. Kellogg kept departing from the truth of God, his downfall was sure. He became imbalanced in mind, and taught all kinds of confusion. We are in danger as well when we do not stay surrendered to the Lord and walk in humility before Him.
May the Lord help us all to learn from Kellogg's pitfalls, and ever remain humble and submitted to the will of God. It is our ONLY safety. Thank you SO much for sharing this panel discussion. It was such a blessing!

I was a close friend with a dear elderly woman who was Kellogg's attending nurse for 3 years. She told me that in all that time he never spoke negatively, in her presence. of the SDA church.

I'd like to know more about what point in his life did he accept a pantheistic point of view and the conflict it occured within the church and if he ever renounced that belief before he died.
by the time he died, harvey was being 'worshipped' at a place in florida where he'd retired to, with a full-size body painting of him in that place; also, he was a proponent of something that won the nobel prize @ the mid-1910s , dealing w/ what is now a bunk science, the nobel prize having to rescind itself from having given such prize f/ it (called ' phrenology ') & which showcase in stark contrast what happened to him as he left the guidance to him f/ the e.g.w. 's s.o.p..
from the sop writings, we glean that the way the enemy of our creation got to him, was the same way in which lucifer got to himself, as we read in the isaiah account (through the beauty of this knowledge); so w/ the way most everyone seemed to look at harvey, that even e.g.w. when writing f/ public dissemination about him, would refrain from stating his name & instead concentrate on the pantheistic belief he was espousing on his 'the living temple' book which at that time he was pushing to be used in all sda schools, even at the secondary level..
Great story, at the end though God is in the buisness of saving souls as he said God knows his heart ❤ amen

If only he had prayed, acknowledged his genius as from God, and followed the spiritual guidance the way Ellen White did; instead of dying in poverty…I can’t imagine the success that would have been his legacy. Listen to us all.
when he was following the sop, it was acknowledged, even by himself in public when asked, that he was @ 5yrs. ahead of his peers in knowing what to choose to practice/follow from the latest in medicine, etc

Eugenics first coin by Francis Golton. And that was because of his cousin Charles Darwin champion idea of evolution. Frances, it was Francis Galton that term Charles Darwin’s research as eugenics. Essentially eugenics is the application of racism.
It's the same with Jones and Wagonner.
1888 was the Eternal's message, but after that, we must be careful about their interpretations, when their further messages!

There's a difference between Patriarch David and Kellogg.
While David had the tendancy to always repent, Kellogg finished his life negatively, so it stays apparently without positive issue!

I believe the character of Kellog was and is not unique. There are still same characters in SDA even at the present moment. It manifests in subtle ways and in profound ways. The day is coming when all the secrets of our hearts, all the biases, ideologies will be exposed and the Most Righteous Judge will reward each according to his or her deeds.

Races: We're animals like all the spicies, just pay attention on how every specie lives. Most of the times, people think black and jews when the racism topic is mentioned; but just observe at how those two groups live and behave among their own society.
Regarding Dr. Kelligs, such a great man. No matter how polite these folks want to sound, they will stick to adventism point of view. Just by listening to them, rightaway I detect how they distort his personality and motives, because they will allways se it from the sectarian point of view. Eventhough I take it as a step in my life, and not regreting being part of the SDA Church for many years! Because I've also learned reallly good things in there, I see how backward and bias their teachings are.

A genius who died a poverty. A charity case in an Adventist institution. Reminder to use the GIFTS God gives for good not evil. It’s not genius to believe you are the source of your own gifts. It’s called Pride. What does the Bible say about pride and a mighty fall? Proverbs 16:18. He is gone and the institution he deceitfully acquired failed. But, the “small church” still stands, it grows and grows and grows under the care of Gods. God will not be mocked by your words.
