  • In this video ill show you how I upgrade Gen 3 Prius head unit from 2010 to 2015.
    With aftermarket wiring harness and dash kit installation take less than 1hour.
    JVC KW-M56BT headunit
    Metra 95-8226B dash kit
    Scosche TA02B wiring harness
    (if u have jbl system you will need a different harness and if u want to retain your steering wheel control you will also need an extra module)

    Thanks for making the video. For retaining JBL and steering wheel what extras do I need? Do you know if I have to use different harness for Alpine-iLXW650?

    Appreciate you doing the video. I plan on replacing my stock head unit in my 2010 Prius i just purchased. I been looking at other videos and some say i need to get a steering wheel harness?

      U will need steering wheel harness if u want to use steering wheel control... i have no need for that since im controlling everything with my phone anyway.

      If u have jbl system in your car then u need special adapter harness to turn on the amp

      @@mechanicslife24 My 2010 Prius has the JBL system. I'll have to get the smart harness anyway because I want to retain the steering wheel controls.

      Imho its betten than those unreliable android ebay/Amazon head unit.
      This one also has and option for steering wheel control and backup camera... for just a little more.

    After install my radio flickers and dash says check hybrid system

      Disconnect the negative on your battery and wait 5 mins, then reconnect it. The check hybrid error will go away. Battery is in the rear right side of vehicle.

    But there 4 connections on Toyota original unit now got stereo from Amazon they send 2 connections which one I should use ?

      Do u have jbl or navi package? If so u would need extra harness
