It's amazing how they made this to go through the countryside. Gives a sweet ride along with an nice bit of scenery.
Til you hit a deer 🤣
It really is cool! Hope it doesn't annoy too many of the local farmers though.
@@Hugginsince79 I do think i saw some fences.
Scenery.... Some trees..... Okay.
Actually, the trains did hit animals that got past the barriers. Guests would get a pretty gruesome shower as a result.
Two Drops? and long and winding ride through the forest with tunnels? Are you kidding me? LOVE this rollercoaster!!!!
The Long and Winding Ride, by Paul McCARTney. Ok, that's me finished.
Wo ist die Bahn
@@manuelgroholdermann8929 Yorkshire in England.
The beast at kings island in mason Ohio USA has two lift hills three tunnels and two helixes. It's my favorite ride and only minutes from my house.
Well it's gone now.
it's like a cross between a roller coaster and a miniature train. love it!
Isn't it a mine train coaster
Funny you should say miniature train... it was constructed by British Rail engineers!
Kind of like a mountain coaster as well.
@@csch1510 no
Only ever been there once, not long after it opened - one of the earliest examples of a theme park where you paid money to get in, and all games and rides were free, with as many goes as you like (queues permitting) - it hadn’t been opened long, so all there was there was a train that ran round the park, an adventure playground called Fort William and an archery area - we rode all the way round on the train, starting in the car park, then stayed on the train and went round to Fort William and spent the day in there - over the years, it has expanded and had rides put in, but I have never been, apart from that occasion!
Nearby attraction Flamingoland began life as Flamingo Park Zoo - originally, it was little more than that - but, following on from Lightwater Valley, which began life as a pick-your-own-strawberries place, gradually became more of a theme park than a zoo - I think they still have animals there - and, of course, the flamingos that give the place its name - both attractions now have a one time admission fee, with free rides - I think they have food concession stands (not free) - as a result, most other better-known places have also gone down the “one time admission fee, free rides” route - the most well-known of which is Alton Towers, along with other places in Berkshire and Surrey!
This is the type of roller coaster that gets you a hidden achievement in planet coaster/RCT
This coaster was *in* the Original RCT.
@@DJShadesUK and in RCT Classic, just not the original one. It’s a wooden coaster with the articulated trains and what looks like just the second half of the ride
This coaster is unique and unusual in that most of the track is on the ground rather than on supports.
Alpine style
It's a terrain coaster.
I love terrain coasters!
Probably to cut costs.
What an interesting coaster. One of the coolest and most unique I've seen.
Even more unique in the fact it's the only roller coaster in the world built by the UK railways.
The longest wooden rollercoaster in the world (or at least it was for many years after opening). Three miles from where my wife grew up and she remembers this being built when it changed from a fruit picking farm to a big theme park.
Sadly it will be standing but not operating this year. There is also another rumour that it may get demolished.
@@julianb9548 This isn't a wooden coaster lol
@@julianb9548 p
Best backyard roller coster ever.
Its not a backyard coaster :/
Haha
@@aeDoesThings it is a joke :/
The fact that a railway company made a roller coaster is insane.
That’s exactly what it reminded me of! That’s so cool to know it’s actually from a railway company!!
@@ballbag that's still insane
Roller coasters were sometimes known as "scenic railways".
@@stephenphillip5656 Arhh, those were the days......
They have all the skills necessary to do it. I don't see why it's insane.
“And how many lift hills do you want?”
“YES.”
All the hills plz
All the airtime, plz
How slow?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
@@mattyo8828 50mph slows down really quick tho depends it gets quicker more times it goes round the track
@@timmyc9915 Yeah, except they don't have airtime.
The Nürburgring of rollercoaster
I used to work at this park, and having lived 15 minutes down the road I have ridden this rollercoaster probably hundreds of times. Really fun and unique but hurts like hell
I bet !! If you didn’t have back problems before you got on you would when you got off 😂😂
the ultimate is the ride with two of the best lift hills in the world, i live just north east, hours drive love lightwater valley
This makes me laugh so much every time. And at the end of the ride auto-translate says 'why such a comfortable train journey in England is' haha
This rollercoaster is in such a pretty area like the scenes are beautiful
North Yorkshire is beautiful
@@michaelwray1034 As a Lancashire lad normally I'd disagree but I quite like north Yorkshire, some great scenery.
@@bigkk5698 bigg kk for a little country i love how diverse the countyside is. Try west durham heading over from the lakes really barren but lovely.
@@michaelwray1034 I shall have a little adventure when the weathers a little better mate. Nice talking to you fella 😁🙌
Imagine this ride only having one cart and having to wait over 7 minutes per load 😳
A lot of the time this would be the case although it was rare to have to wait more than 1-2 laps around the track
Ikr i hate when that happens
This is literally a steel beast. A long, rough, kind of slow, bit awkward terrain coaster that goes through the woods and has multiple lift hills, and tunnels! The similarities are staggering.
Not at all
I was thinking of the beast too. My favorite ride ever! I love the roughness and the scenery. The last helix is the best feeling ever
My kinda coaster…nice long fast ride in beautiful scenery, with non of the upside down shit!!
The scenery in surrounding was soo soothing and beautiful
Three miles from Ripon, which is where my wife grew up. Went to lightwater valley a lot when she was a child when it was still only a fruit picking farm with a big shed of pigs showing them all at various ages (very cute), the boats on the lake, the mini railway and fort William, which was a large wooden area with lots of high up ropes and swings to navigate She remembers them building this rollercoaster.
As she is terrified of heights and fast scary rides, she has never been on this so it was interesting for her to view this video.
That one looked very cool. They don't need to have loopings to be fun. I love those big drops....
Big drops? Where
Fantastic ride. I love it when it goes through the trees. Almost crapped my self the first time I went on it lol
This is that roller coaster in Katie's Dreamland Park of Rollercoaster Tycoon 1!
True! Even the long way before the drop after the second lift hill and the blue colour of the trains is the same. In the game it's called "The Storm". But the layout is pretty spot on, just smaller.
I love RCT!
I KNEW IT!!! Judging from the long way before the drop after the second lift hill and the helixes and curves, i knew it was a very familiar coaster from RCT 1 which is from Katie's World, The Storm.
This is so cool! Now I’m gonna have to go back and look at this scenario again. 😁
I helped build it,with a company I worked with from USA./German based. what a long project that was,but worth the effert.im 68yrs old now..It was well 9ver 25 yrs ago..
@Patrick hey be nice they seem to be proud of their work
@Patrick exactly hahaha. just remember to radiate positivity :))
How cool! It looks like it was quite a job, and look how long it has lasted! As I know as watching this, I was wondering about the people who built it.
This ride looks just fun and not too sickening, I,m a roller coaster fanatic and love going to Cedar Point in Ohio but this ride looks awesome!!Thank you.
@Patrick and .... you needed to respond to this particular comment like that because ...?
He said he helped build it, not design it.
Would most definitely ride this, everything & more what a rollercoaster has. With amazing scenery on the way. It’s a Win, win,win
1st rollercoaster I ever rode. First year of high school, end of year trip. I was 11 and was quite surprised I was tall enough to ride it myself! Had a great day and still love lightwater valley almost 30 years later!
a rollercoaster through a forest... this is quite amazing, actually
!! VORSICHT WILDWECHSEL !!
Vorsicht Zugwechsel
I last rode this back in 1998 and I've forgotten just how good this coaster is.👍😉
I'm not a roler-coaster fan at all, but i want to ride it so bad!
Look I From USA but hats off to Whoever created this Insane coster Nice👍🤘
Was ein geiles teil!👍danke fürs hochladen👏🤗
Ai first, I wondered if the title "longest" referred to time, because it seemed as if the coaster was crawling slowly like a freight train in a switch yard.
But the twists and turns through forests was very cool. I worried for the riders, too, because if the foliage is not trimmed correctly then we could be hearing about decapitations.
Way cool.
In Tirol Austria they have the longest mountain coaster now. This type of ride was new for me, looks fun.
That second drop is brilliant through the jungle bit of the scenery haha, soundes like they were having fun, or hurting from the brutality of the ride lol
I love how it looks like if you're in the middle of a forest instead of a amusement park.
Dieses abwechslungsreiche Layout nach dem 2ten Lift👍🏼😂
wie cool ist diese Achterbahn bitte? 0.o
Solche Kuriositäten liebe ich. Danke!
I've been on this one, fantastic roller coaster! One thing that stands out for me is how it uses and follows the natural terrain. The forest section is very unusual for this kind of ride.👍😎
Where is this located at?
@@As-if948 Ripon Yorkshire
A little place called North Stainley just outside Ripon.
I believe this ride is still the longest roller coaster in Europe.
My grandfather used to live close to the park and ive been there many times. Around 1995 i thought this ride would break down very soon. 25 years later, still there XD
Fantastic, shame the Ultimate hasn’t operated since 2019! It’s been SBNO since
And is now closed and being removed :(
What a cool video. Thank you for that. What a beautiful ride. Thank God for CZcams so we can see the rest of the world we would never be able to afford to see.
Such beautiful scenery especially for a coaster😀
I rode this coaster 10 times in a row for Yorkshire air ambulance, I was in so much pain after 🤣
That’s a full hour oh my god 😂😂😂
I went on it many years ago and exactly the same. Must have gone on it about 8-10 times and I still remember the pain I was in at the end of the day where my inside of my knees were smacking the middle of the carriage.
@@glynrh8892 yes the best and worst hour of my life lol
Was thinking this looked like a rough ride 😆
The best part about this coaster is that because it goes out and back so far that they only go and trim the trees and bushes back once every few years. So if you’re lucky you get whacked in the face by a few branches after the second drop
Now this is my type of roller coaster. I would love riding this.🙂
That roller coaster looks like something that would help me fall asleep it looks depressing x
I've never seen a coaster like this before but I love it!
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
Ohja :)
I'm always so fascinated by this ride! I really like the park employee just ducking under the tracks at the start of the POV... Lightwater Valley seems like one of those cool, independent parks that have these oddities you wouldnt find at a Six Flags/Cedar Fair/Merlin etc. park.
Says SBNO in 2021 on rcdb... I hope they're just doing maintenance or something... wouldn't actually surprise me if it legit took them a year to do major maintenance on it... its huge and owned by a smaller regional park. This is really a one of a kind attraction that would probably never be built today. And I imagine it's got historic significance for the locals, it would have to! Hope I can get this credit someday!
Cool POV, thanks for sharing!
News has broke its being closed and is getting removed :(
@Manic World that's really, really sad... but I can't say I'm surprised. Maintenance must be an absolute nightmare and probably more expensive than ever post covid... still though. There'll never be another one like this.
This looks so relaxing in nature.
AWESOME .. can take a nap on that lift hill! Hands UP!
😀🙌
I’m not a rollercoaster person but I’d ride this one! It’s not so crazy!
wahnsinns bahn. cooles video.
Nothing like rolling over wildlife with a roller coaster !!
Looks like a good place to take a nap.
Tolles Video☺️👍🏻 Macht weiter so!
Logisch, danke! ☺️
Looks like REALLY great fun !!
That looks like a load of fun but also sounds painful lol I'd love to go on this though. "Hilfe!" lol
I don't speak hardly any German, but I got most of it. Cool ride.
You write like you speak hardly any english, too.
Beste idee...

Excellent terrain coaster. Beautiful foliage!
This is the fastest and most fun roller coaster I have ever been on it was amazing.
The unique roller coaster comes with a natural scenic view.
I love this ride. Went on it so many times
Can't believe how intense this was! Wow!
I'd love to go on this!! Germany and Europe have the best rollercoasters!!
Está hermoso ese recorrido 🙂🌟
Das sieht echt schön aus
Hot damn, great ride ! greetings from Detroit.
Finally, a roller coaster that doesn't make you throw up.
WOW, that looked fun!
what a beautiful ride!
hi from Canada! that is one really nice rollercoaster. i would like to try it one day. i understood some of your language, but not all of it. all i know is that 2 grown up men in the front seat were having fun! thank you for a great video! have a nice day!
This has to be shot in 4k as this is the cleanest video I've seen of this coaster.
Wow what a awesome ride 👏 Wow
This reminds me of a ride in the ACT in Australia. But not a roller coaster more like a steel slide but not l no where's near as long.
What a cool roller coaster
Voll geil!
The rollercoaster equivalent of a nice walk in the country.
Nice ride! 😍
Rode it not long after it was built. The best place to sit on the train was at the back, it got whipped over the top as the rest of the train was going down.
I like how this coaster was built through a valley. Game changer.
Da kommt niemand einfach so mal eben hin.
It's cool the way they used the environment for the ups and downs
Cool

Ich liebe den Sound von Lifthügeln
Weltklasse theming! Die haben den wald extrem realitätsgeträu nachgebaut😉
