didnt he also play the lizard in the spiderman reboot?
@@screenjunkies Best joke EVER
Lol
@@screenjunkies no ur'e breathtaking
This movie actually has my favorite Banner: he's not simply a shell for the Hulk to shrug off when he's pissed, he's a fugitive who's clever, experienced, and resourceful in most situations... until you make him angry.
Montesama314 you mean he has an actual character instead of the nobody in the avengers.
He's a little bit like how the TV show had treated Banner as the one who has to deal with The Hulk, not the other way around like MCU treats him. I think Marvel is just jacking off so much in their own face to see they have actually gotten to where the Movie characters are not anything like their Comic counterparts
I've seen all those movies and I think Ruffalo's banner is a stand in till they can make hulk fight something else. He displays no inner turmoil but rather gets 2 or three throw away lines and goes back to being a background character. I'm sad that Ed Norton couldn't work better with the studio. I mean the Hulk is supposed to be an unstoppable ID monster. He's quite literally supposed to be an analogy for unchecked nuclear power. Fear is the correct response.
Yep, I like this Bruce more too
It seemed modeled off of the 1970s TV series The Hulk with Bill Bixby. If you listen closely there was a scene where you can hear the theme "The Lonely Man" playing. What Stewie Griffin called that sad walking away song from The Incredible Hulk.
People can say what they want about this movie, but this portrayal of Bruce Banner was very good to those that loved the 70's TV show. Mark Ruffalo is good for the light hearted, quip filled banter version of Bruce Banner but Ed Norton nailed the dark, brooding, afraid to turn version.
Mark Ruffalos portrayal was better. He only started being light hearted and comedic once Ragnarok came.
I think Ruffalo was able to convey banners brooding and tortured side, but mainly in the first avengers movie. After that he kind of became more dorky and light hearted in every subsequent appearance. In the first avengers gilms we got scenes like his first meeting with widow where he is calm and then suddenly snaps at her, and the scene where he reveals that he tried to off himself.
Edward Norton did nail the movie dark version of Bruce Banner but Bill Bixby did better
This Hulk looks so much more ripped and he talks like Hulk does. He shows more anger than Ruffalo Hulk
yeah, well, this movie (and this Hulk) could've probably gone further if it weren't for Edward Norton's ego.
but then again Mark Ruffalo does a pretty good job - and i don't know if Norton would be able to pull off the Smart Hulk from Endgame.
Yah know when I saw Abomination I thought he looked like Voldemort on steroids. I still actually like Hulks design he did looked Smashing
His was more realistic (if such a thing were to exist), making him intimidating, scary even.
Heh. Smashing. I see what you did there.
Facts mark ruffalo looks worse
@@starrgazer9 well, more realistic than Creature of the Black Lagoon on steroids, that's for sure.
Awhhhh... The best standalone Hulk film in the MCU!
The only standalone hulk film in mcu
NET Alliance - Star Wars Fun not a lot of competition tbh
It's like saying rogue one is the best stand alone star wars film.
what?!?!?
I think its one of the best films in the MCU but I understand I'm a minority for that.
This movie is pretty underrated. It deserves a sequel.
Universal, I've come to bargain.
Gardetrace it already got a sequel: Thor Ragarok
Gardetrace Well he was the secondary character of Thor Ragnarok, so....
Are we talking about the same movie
The movie wasn't the problem... the actor was.
@@mahchestro9144
The actor's only problem was that he was smarter than the producers and wouldn't pretend that he wasn't.
This is the best Hulk Movie Of Them All. Too bad it never got a sequel. It's also the most Badass Hulk to date.
You serious ?
I agree
@@user-df8oh4vx9l yea 2008 hulk or avengers 1 hulk is the best hulk

Save martha
Say "I shall call him, Mini Me" RIP Verne Troyer
renji90998 I can’t believe he’s gone too
Still abomination was a better villian than doomsday in bvs.
True. I'd even say he's better than most of the villains in the MCU.
Yeah he was actually intimidating too, they really did well on his original fishlike design
Why was he better though? just cause he's marvel? Doomsday managed to actually kill Superman, that's more than The Abomination manged with Hulk
@@denerobbins6563 yea ur right
@@denerobbins6563 well judging a character isnt based around strength alone, the reason why abomination is a better villain and character is because he actually have a personality and goal(compared to doomsday). He's not just a brute that appears on screen just to smash some buildings
I prefer this Bruce Banner because he is more serious and has more personality and the Hulk is more aggresive and stronger.
Miguel Torres Muñoz mark looks like a real scientist...
@@MB-fz8ov You guess someone's proffesion based on their physical appereance? The reason he doesn't appear as scientist to me is actually because we have never seen him doing some hocus pocus scientific activities
NoobSkillz Gaming you are right
@@stefanstojadinovic2486 The only time in the movie he's actually doing science got turned into a deleted scene great job marvel
Miguel Torres Muñoz Mark Ruffalo’s personality was the same as this one and in The Avengers. The character started to change during Age of Ultron.
the hulk's fight with abomination is one of the best and most memorable fights in the MCU
Dante Crottogini True. It helps that it lasts more than like one minute.
YES! And the roar at the end was so intense.
Bazinga
It was the best until winter soldier and civil war showed up.. hell powered up blonski vs hulk was awesome too
Honestly since that happened back in 2009, and its been 18 films right now, it's hard to remember it. I need to rewatch it and see if I can agree.
Say: “What is this? Some kind of an Infinity War?”
What is this? Infinity War for Ant-Mans?
“Do you want to get Terrance Howarded, because that’s how you get Terrance Howarded” 😂😂😂😂😂
Honestly, if Norton wasn't a big douchebag, we could have more of this Hulk.
This Hulk was the best, he looked visceral, savage and just angry. The type of Hulk that I could see going up against Thanos.
Some Yakuza Dad With a Beard surely you realize that the Honest trailer is wrong.
Maybe that was BECAUSE of Ed Norton?
Even though I agree this was the best version of Hulk on screen, I really don;t think Norton would have worked well on screen with the other Avengers.
Thanos wouldve been shook om
YESSSS
"MARK RUFFAHULK!"
Yay Mark RuffaHulk!

yeah mark ruffalo huh??!!
Best Hulk Smash line ever
the only one in the movies
I really enjoyed this film and think it's one of the better MCU films. Seriously.
SAME best Hulk ever
Wait, is Edward Norton playing a character with 2 personality, one being a calm, collective, intelligent normal man and the other a chaotic monster who likes to destroy things?
Hope you guys get it!
Rule #1 Don't talk about it
Rule #2 *DON’T* talk about it.
Damn, I wish Edward Norton kept playing the Hulk so I could call the Avengers the Fight Club.
"He got his ass kicked all the way to Batman v Superman"

Alejandro Micheo Marves woah.
This is still one of my favorite super hero movies of all time. This portrayal of the conflicted nice guy fighting against an inner evil monster is amazing. The anger in the face of the hulk is frightening and the transformation feels like a horrid sickness. It was emotional and serious. I miss this tone.
“A monster so bad, he got his ass kicked all the way to Batman V Superman!” Hilarious

"Runs away from the military" ACCURATE XD
This movie is so underrated. People are always surprised when I put it in my top 5 Marvel movies (they forgot about it). The dynamics between Bruce Banner, Betty Ross and General Ross are superb in this movie. Edward and Liv really sold the romance between Betty and Bruce. William Hurt really sold me on his hatred/distrust for Banner/Hulk.
I like Ruffalo and Norton's portrayals of Bruce Banner. I really would have liked to see Edward Norton interact with the rest of the MCU cast though. Dude is an amazing actor and I think could have had some great chemistry with the cast.
Yeah man, it's really sad, even worse when people write it off completely and call it the worst MCU film (meanwhile Ant Man exists).
Wait, what? What was wrong with Antman? It was funny. Thor the Dark World was probably one of the worst I can think of atm
Tomn8er - I'd put Dark World as the worst, but I haven't seen it myself (I only heard it sucked).
I just didn't like Ant Man at all and I don't get the appeal of the film. The main character is generic, the villain is _THE_ most generic, awful, forgettable villain in all of the MCU, and the supporting characters aside from Hank Pym add basically nothing to the story. It's fun at times, but it's an incredibly weak movie IMO.
Mr. Fixit - ...which is exactly why I didn't and instead said Ant Man was the worst...
Iron Man 2 and Thor 2 easiest the worst movies in the MCU. Most people don't mention The Incredible Hulk on that list from what I've seen. But, I think it's more because they just ignore it's connection instead of just not liking it. It took me a few views to see that yes.. The movie is as bad as people say. The only plot of the movie is ust running away from the military, except for creating Abomination. I don't get how Terminator 2 is basically just running away from the Terminator, yet is one of the best action movies of all time, so it can be done. But, this aint how to do it.
Please say “ In time you will know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right, that to fail all the same. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives”
Where's that from? It's sounds familiar but I can make the connection yet.
I think it might have been Justice League
Nah it was in Tarantino verse
thats definitely Ella from Frozen
yet to fail all the same*
"Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things." :D
Man think of the millions of dollars Ed Norton threw out the window.
The only reason this trailer happened was because Black Panther isn't on Blue Ray yet.
Hey that's not the only reason! It's because we wanted to save a Marvel movie for them hot fire clicks AND because Black Panther isn't on Blue Ray Yet
Screen Junkies If you say so. Thanks for the reply. Loved the trailer!
You forgot to be honest about how Badass this movie is. I left the theater jumping around like I was hulk in harlem
Wright Marshall how old were you at the time? My mind is flipping between obnoxious ten year old and slightly terrifying twenty something scaring mothers as he leaves the theatre.
@@falcore91 … what?🤨 twenty mothers?
@@BlueTyphoon2017 “twenty something” suggests someone might be 20 to 29 years old. So I was saying that Wright might have been a child jumping around, or a grown up jumping around. The latter might worry a few folks.
Hands down: the best Bruce Banner and Hulk portrayal 🙌🏻
I mean this is the only movie where hulks says "Hulk Smash"
And 2 hulks ar in it!!!!!
Special cameo from lou ferrigno
The overall movie may have been 'ok' but IMO it was the best version of Hulk on screen to date. His look, sound and behavior was near perfect.
Only complaint is they didn’t make him powerful enough, but did show an increase in strength the angrier he got.
I hated this Hulk at first, but with time he grew on me.
There our people out there who don't like Mark Ruffalo's Hulk!? Huh. Should've known.
that scene when he screams at abomination is awesome i feel his power, and honestly fear him.
He's certainly a more domineering looking Hulk, even if he was a little under-powered to what he needed to be (in the grand scheme of the Avengers etc).
I get why they changed him (got to have some lighthearted moments and comedic value for the kids...sigh..) but I would personally prefer this one instead.
Please say: "You wouldn't like me when I'm hungry."
"The Disposable Hulk"
Ok, that's actually savage HAHAHAHAHAHA
This movie was underrated, I wish they'd kept Ed Norton.
Nah MARK IS THE BEST
@@pause4563 Mark is a better light hearted hulk while Ed Norton was a more intimidating and scary hulk
the Nordic Beebo no, not in avengers 1 or age of ultron, or Thor ragnarok, plus in endgame his charectar was profesour hulk, so it was with the scrip

This is actually a pretty underrated film in my opinion, anyway where is that blade runner 2049 honest trailer tho?
Ed Norton is amazing actor!
AGREE.
this movie is actually really underrated and ed norton was a really good bruce banner i like both him and mark ruffalo i just don't know why universal doesn't make another hulk movie with marvel
I hope Liv Tyler's Betty Ross returns along with Tim Roths Abomination in a sequel someday.
Yeeeeeessssss who else looks forward to these every Tuesday??

Me too!
Screen Junkies Of course *you* would look forward to it.
Yeaeeeeeh, now that are popculture references I can really identify with!
Screen Junkies When do we get the honest commentary!?!?
I actually liked this hulk/Bruce banner, yeah I know not that great movie but still liked the character.
Harman Sahani Still can't imagine him with the rest of the MCU for some reason.
cause you have Mark Hulkfallo in your head
This version gave Banner an emotional and psychological aspect that the MCU hasn’t really dived into since. Instead of actually seeing his struggle with learning to control the Hulk, he just passively references it in dialogue. Instead of watching him grow as a character, he shows up every few years having learned to control the Hulk off-screen.
Ruffalo’s a great actor but I just don’t think the writers have given him anything that interesting to do with the character from a dramatic standpoint.
icantthinkofaname I agree he didn't get enough screen time, they did show some struggle during that argument scene in first avengers movie but after that he got absolutely nothing, got into a needless relationship with black widow, and didn't have much to do in ragnarok. So yeah the studio didn't give much attention to the character.
Yea.... I like Mark Ruffalo, but I felt Norton's portrayal of Hulk was more intense and emotional. Also, I'm a fan of Norton... maybe that's why.
Wishing that was the hulk that was used in all the other movies
And now Abomination--the most forgettable villain in the MCU--is coming back.
Edit: Wes Anderson's Fancy Boy Cinematic Universe! 🤣🤣🤣
This movie was actually not that bad.
C.DatAZNguyoverthere i agree
I thought it was really well paced and interesting. I was really into it throughout the whole movie
There's like 45 minutes of deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray release that are all pretty good, no wonder Ed Norton left :)
Yeah, I don't know why it gets panned by some... it's on par with the others, at least in the middle of the pack. (For me, the MCU movies range from "good" to "really good." A couple aren't AS good as the best ones, but they're still good.)
because it isn't
As a DC fan that Abomination/Doomsday dig burnt me pretty burn hahaha. Well played Honest Trailers, well played.
*curtsies*
I liked this version of the Abomination. He wasn't the greatest villian, sure, but he wasn't the main villain. He was a lacky of three real antagonist of the film: General Ross.
I feel ya dude, I feel ya

What do you mean? He's a CGI monster.
the campus scene with the tanks was quite the action
I liked this one too.
"Most forgettable monsters in the MCU". Funny enough, Blonsky/Abomination were my favorite villains in the entire MCU. This movie is soooo underrated. My favorite version of the Hulk. Hell yeah.
I always loved this version of Hulk/Banner, damn u Ed Norton! 😂
Drumdums but the movie was overall boring. Of over 120 mins only 20 mins were good.

"The Incredible Hulk - That one movie every MCU fan intentionally forgets so that the MCU can have a perfect record."
You finally did it! About damn time!
Don't fault him for running from the US Military. He was _running_ from the _Hulk,_ after all.
Trying to imagine Eddy Norto in the MCU seems totally ridiculous. He and Mark Ruffalo seem like polar opposites.
Samuel Keller I think Norton is the better actor. We just spend the entire Avengers movies waiting for the Hulk, as Ruffalos Banner is so bland and, quite frankly, unlikable.
Tbh, Ruffalo's Hulk turned to be a little comic relief while Norton's Hulk was more menacing and agressive and he looked so much better imo
Wow, polar opposites? I hadn't really thought about it, but now I have I'd say they're actually very similar actors, in that they're good at portraying ambiguous characters with hidden depths, and they're both charismatic in an unassuming sort of way.
But hey, opinions!
Buffoon1980 I just meant the way they approach the character. Ruffalo has a much more subdued Banner. Norton was much more active and animated. He seemed to be forcing his emotions down rather than inherently calm.
Abbreviated Reviews Right, fair enough, I understand better now, cheers :) Personally I like them both roughly equally (not that I'm a huge fan of Marvel movies overall) but you're right, they are quite different in their approaches to the character.
Disney: Hey Universal, can we have your Hulk for a solo film?
Universal: we've seen what you've done to The Hulk, we're good.
We need a hulk animated series again.
Still don't know why people didn't like this, it's honestly one of my favorite marvel movies
Audiences today want more instant over the top payoff and have less patience for the stuff that tends to come later. Hulk with Banner at the start was never in your face all the time. That came after he was established.
It's really not bad.
I liked it too. For me this hulk comes across as way more angry than avengers hulk.
Ill take this hulk over ruffalo hulk any day. R Hulk seems way too silly for my liking especially in nragnarok
Mittens FastPaw It’s not as bad as people say but honestly, at a technical and narrative level.... it’s isn’t that great.

@adp1998 Not too long! Rumour has it sometime in May according to my sources (our calendar)
Y'all joke about Norton using a psudonym but his name, in full, is Edward Harrison Norton. Also, despite his best efforts at a screenwriting credit on the poster, it was dropped in the actual movie.
I love the look of this Hulk much more that the one in the Avengers movies and Ragnarok. The striated look is more interesting looking that just a green guy.

It's kinda interesting how the old Hulk film kinda ends where the Incredible Hulk picks up. 🤔
NET Alliance - Star Wars Fun like it connects in some way. 🤔🤔
This was supposed to be HULK’s sequel. Ed Norton’s changes in the script made it more standalone.
Vi Ji That ended up being good for the MCU in the long run.
So technically Eric Bana's Hulk is part of the current MCU
Vi Ji It wasn't supposed to be a Hulk sequel. It was it's own and MUCH better. He didn't even turn into The Incredible Hulk the same way he did in Hulk. He didn't grow larger... like in Hulk, and it was never intended to be a sequel.
