They used a glass lens system called Nydar for better daytime target acquisition. Invented in early 1900's.
Better question is WHO used Nydar sights? Ive never seen any evidence they were actually used.

What is that LMG that outsidebox is using? And FG42? The developers couldn't even get the layout of their weapons right.
Incendiary rounds would probably be much too expensive to give to infantry. And I'm not sure if they existed then. Anyways, an incendiary shotgun would be pointless, because if you're going to shoot someone with a shotgun, it's likely going to kill them anyways, and incendiary rounds are probably less deadly than normal ones, minus the fire.

All the people complaining about realism apparently never heard of incendiary rounds. These are the same people who screamed about how much better BF1 would be, with all of the World War 1 automatic rifles.
