Messi and Maradona have only used their left leg,in the arial game they hardly act,in the área they were much less efficient than Pelé and both played in certain areas of the field. All this defines a more complex and harsh enviroment and in this context I say that M and M can't be compared because they don't have Pele's abilities and skills even with all difficulties of the time. I would rather say they simply don't want this person called Pele to be associated with the kind of records attributed to him. Before now, a number of reasons were given as to why Pele wasn't good enough, assuming he couldn't have sailed through them. And then, records have kept emerging from the very little that have survived to prove in his favour. The next thing has always been to shift the goal post. So I don't personally think it's something any debate can change. Simply change Pele's face and put the ''right'' kind of face upon his resume' and a huge chunk of the disapproval will disappear. To be more dramatic, you could try replacing it with their favourite players and watch out for the 180 degrees turn in their arguments. In this case, there will be no need for videos as the written records alone will be more than enough.

However, 526 of these goals he scored were friendlies and tour games. Hence, the number of official goals he scored is 757 goals. c) In all 3 world cups, he played alongside legendary players. In 1958, there was Didi, Garrincha, Djalma Santos, and Nilton Santos. In 1962, there was Garrincha, both the Santos full-backs, as well as Vavá. Finally, in 1970, there was Gerson, Rivellino, Jairzinho, and Carlos Alberto. There are so many facts (including Maradona saying several times that Pelé was the best of all time). Pelé is futebol and nothing can change that, he did things 50 years ago that even today the vast majority don't do, dribbling, shooting with both legs, speed, passing, creating play, heading, he played as goalkeeper in 7 official games and didn't concede a goal... there are so many things to magnify him that the narratives to diminish him become shallow and hollow.

Pele is one of the greatest ever, but I see what you mean. From all the old school players I’ve seen, Cruyff, Eusebio and Puskas are the best. They play like modern players (especially Cruyff), I feel like it would be hard for Pele to adapt in this era as opposed to the other players I mentioned.

Pele was an incredible Player and one of the Greatest of All Time but not THE Greatest of all Time. Why?
a) While he claims he has won 3 world cups with Brazil, he actually won 2; only 1958 and 1970. He was injured and missed the majority of the 1962 world cup, and so, due to this, the real hero of that world cup was Garrincha, along with Vavá as well.
b) Another one of his claims to fame is the fact that he scored 1283 goals. However, 526 of these goals he scored were friendlies and tour games. Hence, the number of official goals he scored is 757 goals.
c) In all 3 world cups, he played alongside legendary players. In 1958, there was Didi, Garrincha, Djalma Santos, and Nilton Santos. In 1962, there was Garrincha, both the Santos full-backs, as well as Vavá. Finally, in 1970, there was Gerson, Rivellino, Jairzinho, and Carlos Alberto. Hence, he had it easier compared to someone like Maradona, who almost single handedly won the 1986 world cup.
c) Again, in all 3 world cups, he wasn’t the top scorer of the tournament. In 1958, it was the French legend Just Fontaine, in 1962, it was Garrincha, and in 1970 it was Jairzinho.
That being said, his talent can never be questioned. He was known for his ability to anticipate opponents in the area and finish off chances with an accurate and powerful shot with either foot. He was also a hard-working team-player, and a complete forward, with exceptional vision and intelligence, and was recognised for his precise passing, as well as his ability to link-up with teammates and provide them with assists. He had a unique playing style that combined speed, creativity, and technical skill with physical power, stamina, and athleticism. These attributes allowed him to beat opponents with the ball, and often saw him use sudden changes of direction and elaborate feints in order to get past players, such as his signature move, the drible da vaca. He also excelled in heading, and was also an accurate penalty and free kick taker.
To sum it up, he was an excellent player, definitely one of the greatest of all time. But is he the greatest of all time? I would say no. That honour has to go to Maradona, Ronaldo O Fenômeno, or Lionel Messi in my opinion. Also, within the greatest of all time list, I would rank Garrincha above Pelé.

what makes him so outstanding is the fact that his style of football was miles away from the rest. He was so far ahead of his time in terms of technique. His skill easily match modern football players and you could put him in a any Top team nowdays. He just had it all. Speed, Driblle, Shot, Header. Just one word, Complete.

The best football team in history at a club level is Sacchi's AC Milan from the 88-91, the best team in history at a country level was Pele's Brazil from 1970.
the best match in the spanish league's history is Atletico de Madrid vs Barcelona in 1996 I believe when Ronaldo played there and they barsa won 4-3 or 5-4, I don't remember; the best match at a country level was between Germany and Italy last century.
