From 1850 to 1890 the Old west had little in the way of government law or police.
Men would carry guns on them to protect themselves: some were outlaws, and some were the lawmen who tried to stop them.
Good aim and speed with a gun and a willingness to pull the trigger would make them famous.
Today we call them gunfighters or gunslingers, but back then they were called gunmen or shootists.

Dutch killed himself when he jumped off a cliff after John chased him down because he worked with the government (yes you heard me right, John worked with the government who f*cked him over after he finished the work). John was shot on his ranch, Abigail died of disease, and Uncle died of *lumbago*

Man I wish I can just spend a day in the heart of the wild west or have a very real lucid dream of being an outlaw or marshall. I rem going to museums as a kid and was always fascinated by the wild west section when they’d be talking about germany or something. Rdr2 is what really brought my love for the wild west out. Just one day is all I ask 😂😂
