The Veggie Boys said boxes of I think it was Cauliflower were going for $100 at the auction so they left. They said they usually sell for about $20 a box. People who need fruit and veggies are paying higher prices everywhere. I buy a lot of veggies at the store. I've had people say "I can't afford to get those". I always tell them "Put back those two $5.00 bags of snacks".
It's interesting how different areas do things differently. I'm in Western Pa right near the Oh line and over here sweet corn is always bagged in the mesh bags at the auction. The bins would be much simpler, but I guess the bags would be better for the buyer who doesn't have equipment on his end to handle the bins. How many dozen on average is in a bin? $7/doz wow, I'm guessing it will be $10/doz at the roadside stands. Glad I planted enough for us and the neighbors (and the raccoons, groundhogs, and deer).
Wowww…you can see the freshness through the screen! In my area, you always see a “lead in” priced item and leave the rest as/for impulse shopping. Loved seeing the Amish wagon wheels…didn’t see much of rubber, as in the olden days. Nice video, Logan!

I've seen lots of footage, and yours is some of the best, and among the best explanations for people who are looking in on that side of agriculture and want to become familiar with how it works. I think you did a really great job especially; just my honest opinion! Those black caps at 3:36 +, those are gold! I wonder what those went for? lol Black cap jam is private stock lol Almost too precious to market. The blackberries at 4:00 are "ok" lol. This video was like a "pro" job, but with your personal, approachable feel that also made it a family experience, which the market is for many of the sellers and buyers. Thanks again!

Sweet corn at the Cumberland valley auction outside shippensburg Pa a few weeks ago was going for $14 dz. And like you said. How can one make a profit after the overhead. Very nice videos sir.
Wow that was really interesting. The one small vegetable that you couldn’t identify is called Patty pan squash I believe. I’ve heard of these auctions before but I’ve never seen one before. It would have been interesting to know how much some of the boxes sold for. Maybe next time you can include some of the actual auction and bidding?
