- Boston Celtics has traded for the 33-year-old all-star point guard Jrue Holiday in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams and draft picks. Here are his best highlights from the 2022-23 NBA season with the Milwaukee Bucks as he averaged 19.3 PPG on 48-38-86 shooting splits to go with 5.1 RPG and 7.4 RPG in 67 games played.

Monster trade. Losing Rob is tough, but Holiday is a legit all star talent and has great availability over his career. Celtics are TOUGH 🍀

He's making the hard decisions that you kinda need. I liked all the guys that we shipped out, but looking at the roster the Celtics have now goddamn I'm excited to see it.
Most of us truly don’t understand how great a PASSER Jrue is. The playmaking is going to be critical for us taking this next step, let alone the defense 🔒

Derrick and holiday two backcourt defenders also, they can be a big key factor if the two Jay’s and Porziņģis are struggling.
the main thing is he is Clutch unlike tatum and brown. If we had him last year we would have a chip

Still holding out hope that Brad trades some 2nd rounders and maybe Kornet to get Rob back. Theis, Kornet, and Al have all been on the team twice so I think anything is possible haha

Rob was very fun but he is lacking lower body durability. And its unlikely to change. Genetic

Yeah he's a definite upgrade. We all love Smart but there is no doubt Jrue is better. He's as good defensively and much better scoring without the sometimes bad decision making of Smart. Smart will forever be beloved in Boston but Jrue's ceiling has been All Star level whilst Smart never got there

I said this in the last video and I will say it once again. There is no Damn Excuse to lose this year. There just isn't. If we lose and Tatum is in the MVP conversation again while Jaylen takes a step back. He will definitely be gone next.
Insane lineup.. all two way players.. white, brown,tatum, holiday, tingus, oldman AL
as a bucks fan, i love jrue so much. boston was the one team i didn’t want him to go because he’s such a good fit. can be a 3rd or 4th option offensively and obviously defend at such a high level. in the playoffs his shot selection would be very odd and his shooting and turnover problems were crucial at times, so if they can limit that especially with jaylens ball handling issues last season, the celtics will be deadly. i can’t wait for the bucks celtics ECF. jrue is inevitably gonna cook the bucks in a revenge series, but we’ll still come out on top with dame. regardless this season is gonna be a blast

Welcome to the Boston Celtics Jrue Holiday
Tough to see Rob go because we haven't seen his best offensively even if he may not consistently be as impactful athletically going forward, but this move sort of shows that either Brad really values jrue similar to how he did porzingis, or he never actually wanted to trade smart and jrue is replacing a lot of what smart does. The clippers really messed up this offseason by not trading for brogdon, maybe Rob and Smart would still be on the roster with porzingis
I like highlights that are actual highlights and defense and moves off the dribble instead of some highlights I see that are just 3 pointers over and over.
I've been hearing for years "Jrue is better than Smart" and his numbers are better by a bit, but I'll like to see him for a full season on my fav team so I can compare for real.
He's easily an upgrade over Smart. I think it's mostly a wash defensively but he's way more consistent offensively than Smart is and a better playmaker. Plus he doesn't have an inflated ego like Smart does.
Just can’t pass on a trade like this. Jrue is the epitome of what a winning team needs. Nerves of steel, winning mentality, lock down defense. Celtics really needed that!
Haven’t seen anyone say anything about the fact the Celtics just got a lot less injury prone. I loved rob but he was just never healthy. He also didn’t fit Mazzula’s style of play which it seems the Celtics are leaning into. Brogdon was reported not be happy and is another injury prone guy. Although the Celtics got older and the payroll is probably unsustainable past next season w this core, I like the move.
Absolutely a win this year move but it gives us a real chance 2nd and 3rd level playmakers behind jb and jt were laking before this off season now it feels like we have too much
Celtics are a superteam after getting porzingis and holiday. Smart and rob will definitely be missed but brad stevens made our team even better than last years. Next season should be really fun.

Man I’m gonna miss smart but the pace Jrue plays at is going to be nice to see. Gonna be interesting how it impacts the team as at times they seemed to be a little reckless and out of control whereas Jrue seems very poised.
I think it’s funny the bucks traded their best defender for dame just for him to go to their biggest threat and make the Celtics better
He will get at least 12 shots per game and we need that defense and playmaking for the jays 💯 I’m so excited to watch the Boston Celtics ☘️this year !
It sucks to see Rob go and will miss his defense. He couldn't stay healthy consistently. Jrue Holiday is an all Star type of player and love the trade for the celtics. He's the type of player who may put the celtics over the top!!

Jrue is basically smart but a better shooter/passer. Rob was awesome very exciting player to watch can’t lie that it doesn’t hurt to lose him but injuries are gunna linger with him

What...? Without Ainge's trade, there's no Brown, Tatum and Rob from the draft picks. Brad was only able to make such trades from the treasure trove Ainge left behind/accumulated.

in desperate need of a big man, but i've always liked holiday. fact is he's light years better than smart on both ends, and he's better than brogdon defensively.
After last year lack of finals appearance I was really bummed out... I even thought I lost my hype for Celtics when they let Marcus Smart go.

Porzingis was pretty much healthy last season. He played 65 games last season ... Would have been 70+ games but Wizaeds front office sat him out for the last 3 weeks of the season .....

No, I only did this once before for one player but he never got traded here so I wasted my time (and maybe jinxed the trade) and decided that from that point I will make a video AFTER the news break about the trade :)
