    It always amazes me how secure this method attached my teak booms to my Windsurfer mast all those years ago.

    Excellent tutorial!! I have two booms with this system that I almost threw out because I hadn't had anyone tell me how to tie them on properly!

    Thank you so much for your instruction!!
    I've got old Mistrals for very cheap price, but couldn't understand how to use.
    Now it's clear. :-)

    Glad you've done a video of this, I'd be totally stuck without it. Thanks for the demo. A little hard to hear the sound though. Still much appreciated.

    That's awesome... brings back the old days and honestly I don't think it is any slower to rig than a clip on..

    Thanks! I came to remind myself how this was done after 30years! I always finished off the inhaul with a clove hitch behind the cleat not tucked in front for security. My 30 year old mistral mast and booms seem ok, I will soon find out! Cheers :)

      How did it sail?

      Same here. I came for the reminder. I started off with an original Windsurfer with teak booms and daggerboard (both of which I still have all these years later) but couldn’t recall how we used to fasten the booms. It was amazing how secure this simple system was.

    Thanks, What diameter and length cord? Mine has no cleat, but lots of extra holes. What diameter and length for the up haul cord?

    Are clip on booms portable like this where they fold to the mast when out haul is released but stay together? That came in handy sometimes.

    Do you need to have a mast protector?

  • @azkamil
    @azkamil Před 3 lety

    The holes on my boom are to close to the mast and as the result this does not work for me. any other ideas?

    not bad, but the question remains: why didn't they offer "automatic" ramps before 1988! Since, the systems are sooooo simple
