  • Hi everyone! Super Saturday February 3rd of Eurovision 2024 national final was full of finals with specific voting systems. For example, Norway used 40% jury voting and 60% televoting instead of traditional 50/50. I made a video about what would results look like if they actually used 50/50, the winner would be different. Also, Malta (MESC 2024) changed their voting system from 50/50 last year too, in a huge favor of juries, 78% jury voting and 22% televoting. I decided it would be fun to make a video with 50/50 system for this selection too. It shows that if they used 50/50 system here, the results would be very close too, just like in Norway, and this Saturday would be even more of the day of super close results. Enjoy!

I’ve made this kind of video for Norway before and decided that it would be interesting to do the same for Malta and Spain too. The February 3rd Saturday turned out to be the day of very close results of all the national finals, except Ukraine (they couldn’t announce results on Saturday anyway). Also, all those national finals didn’t use the conventional 50/50 jury/televote voting system. So, that’s why I decided to do this calculation for Malta and Spain too, just to show what would happen. In case of Malta, the results would be even closer. Consider this as very short mini series of videos

Such a great idea!! And Sarah didn't need this to win!

@@Thomaaas876 Exactly. They wanted to make sure she wins, even made 6 of 7 their juries give her 12 and decreased the power of televoters to 22%. And it all was for nothing, she would’ve won anyway with usual 50/50 system

They change it whenever they want. Usually, when they have a fair competition, they do usual 50/50 system (for example, last year). When they wanna select someone they want (internally, basically) out of their national selection, they do that increase of jury power. This year they definitely wanted Loop, 6 out of 7 juries having 78% power gave her 12. In 2022, they really wanted Emma Muscat, that all the juries gave her 12 and they had even 86% power back then. It's just Malta being Malta

@@escserg6731I mean if rigging the NF is what it takes to avoid banana winning then they have my blessings

And then they change it at the last minute to suit their favourite artist (Sarah)

It is a problem because Sarah’s father is a rich businessman.

@@TheManInBlueFlames Ahh, so it's much simpler, usual nepotism. I thought the broadcaster just looked at the whole package of Sarah's song and decided that what we need. I mean, this is actually what will give them the best possible result, so they would be right in this. But... again, it's much more simpler
