🇱🇻 Supernova 2024 - My Top 10 with comments (before the final show) | Eurovision 2024 Latvia

- Hi everyone! Today, on Saturday February 10th, we have only 3 finals of the national selections for Eurovision 2024. I've already done top 7 of Finnish national final UMK, now it's the Latvia turn and their selection Supernova 2024. As I said on the day of release of all the studio versions, I really like this selection. It's not for a high results at Eurovision or eurofan-friendly, there's not too much pop slick and polished things, but it's a really good lineup of different and authentic songs, exactly what I like in terms of Eurovision. so, I had to do this top. Enjoy!

I wasn't able to watch any Sanremo nights except the covers night. So, making the top of it would be too much, especially with 30 songs. So, there's Supernova instead, a selection that I really like this year, so I just wanted to say something about it.
I hope Hollow would represent Latvia at the end, but I also have feeling that the cat song won (similar to the Supernova 2022 scenario)
Vestules for the win! I love Latvian langauge and the song is so emotional! I love the instrumentals, they KILLED the vocals and the performance was enough. It proves you don't fireworks to be remembered
I really love the Cat's song but Hollow is really a good choice for Eurovision. The staging defenitely needs improvement but in a yeat where we have a lot of crazy/uptempo/dance/pop music, it might stand out
I dare to predict that 'Hollow' will not win Supernova tonight. Truth is, I also predicted that 'Teresa & Maria' wouldn't win Vidbir, but they didn't have competition, so...
In the case of Supernova however I can imagine 'Kur?' or 'The Cat Song' at Eurovision instead.
Another bold prediction for tonight: Cyan Kicks will win UMK and not Sara Siipola (the runaway favorite). The former sounds way more typically "Eurovision Finland".
Well, with Supernova it's in juries' hands. Just like Ukraine and so many other selections, they use that kind of 50/50 system that allows juries to basically do what they want unless they're afraid of people's reaction. If they don't want Dons, they might not give him the win, just like Ukrainian juries could've done, if they wanted. But they didn't want. And I doubt Latvian juries want to rob Dons either.
If Dons gets a better staging i'm pretty sure he will the winner
@blackloxrandom199 That's not how national selections work. You can't expect to win a selection show for Eurovision with poor vocals & staging just because you have time to improve until May, no matter how good your song is. Just like in Eurovision, in every music competition show the overall package matters.

Yes I had to admit that Latvia has a good potential in Malmö, not for thebwin but more for the semi-final
My favorite are Hollow (of course), For the show, the cat's song and Tick-Tock (even if I find that something missing in the staging but still a good effort). For the rest, well it's not bad but a bit forgetable compared to these 4.

Don't really see too much meaning in doing it, but maybe
Can´t say Im a Fan of the Cats Song, it just kinda cringes me off. But Its still better then Katze from the German NF.
I still think its very likely Dons wins here. My runaway Favourite however is Ecto with Outsider.
It's not just very likely that Dons is winning here, he has chances of winning to the extent of chances that Loreen and Kaarija had at Melodifestivalen and UMK respectively last year.
Dons has an amazing voice buts in English and it’s bland as the staging. The cat song may be in English but it suits it, the lyrics are fun good staging and it’s the best song for Eurovision and it will defo qualify, I can also see kur too winning, let the best song win!
