For a man who can rock the low D's in 'O wie will ich triumphieren', Moll can also pop up to those high F's in this aria effortlessly.
I bought this recording on VHS about 6 years ago & wore out the tape! The DVD was released fairly recently. I definitely recommend the purchase; get it at the url below:

Moll is Osmin and always will be. Mozart would have greatly enjoyed this.
Moll is in a class of its own.
Apart from his fabulous voice, he was a great comic actor. RIP dear Herrr Moll.

Kurt Moll fully captured the fun of Mozart's operas, but also a great Commendatore in Don Giovanni. Miss him..RIP MEISTER.

Wow! So good vocally, and so entertaining acting! This is very close to perfection. Or more precisely: way better than I could have hoped for, if I was the director, and there for beyond the scale for me.

it is indeed pedrillo, this is the scene where Osmin basicly tells Pedrillo that he wants to boil pedrillo in oil skin him and slaughter him (among other things). He doesnt tell belmonte this when he is alone, only when he is with the 4 other protaganists
Does anybody know the Martti TALVELA version in a 1987's DECCA record, with Edita GRUBEROVA as Konstanze, Kathleen BATTLE as Blonde, Gösta WINBERGH as Belmonte and a very funny Heinz ZEDNIK as Pedrillo ? The WIENER PHILARMONIKER are conducted by the great Georg SOLTI. I really love his brilliant tempos, and I really love - as a bass-baryton myslef - Martti TALVELA !
