- In this scary new job story, I was stalked at work and the way I was stalked was very abnormal. I originally meant for this to be posted in October, but I had other things going on, so now it's the nightmare before Christmas!

First, this is an exceptional drawing!! And also, I've had a stalker at work as well. Nowhere near as big of a store as what you worked at. I managed a Hallmark store in my early 20's. There was this man, in maybe his late 50's, short (I'm 6ft tall and he was almost short enough to be an armrest for me) and he just had an odd, well, everything. He kept telling me I should come with him because I would make a lot more money. I kept telling him no but he would be back the next week. One time he showed up and my staff told me on the intercom to not leave my office until they give me the all clear. I had an HVAC company that would regularly maintain our furnace and a/c. I got to know the guys and I was like a sister to them. When they heard my staff telling me to stay out of sight, they asked me what was going on, I told them. So these 4 big guys told me to follow them and confronted the guy and told him it would not be in his best interest to show his face in the store again. He didn't come back, but, instead he started calling me. I kept telling him to leave me alone but it didn't stop him. Then he calls while one of policemen that I got to know really well was in the store with me. (they would work at the mall when off duty to make extra money) He had been hanging out in the store to see if the guy would come in or call while he was there. Didn't take long, he called. He took the phone from one of my employees and introduced himself as (name) and I'm a Sargent with the county of (name). My wife has told me you will not leave her alone. The wacko blabbed along with his craziness to the cop and then he thought telling him he was a doctor would be impressive. The officer asked what kind of doctor he was and he replied "a doctor of love". That was enough for him. He told him to consider him trespassed from the entire mall property and if he showed up again, he would go to jail. If he contacted me again, he would go to jail. When the officer hung up, he started laughing a bit and put his arm around me and said "I recognized his voice, he is a pimp and he wanted you on his payroll". He did end up going to jail. He decided to try to recruit another "employee" from another store.
Stunning drawing, black fur is always so hard to render. My take on the stalker is that the suit was most likely his work uniform hence why he was wearing the same clothing every time you saw him. He was likely also on his lunch break, that's why he'd come around close to your lunch hour. He perhaps harboured no ill intent towards you otherwise he'd have taken it further to stalking you after work too. He probably was just plucking up the courage to ask you out. 🤭 Still creepy though!
Well, you said the managers try to get ppl to leave, so I’m wondering if your stalker was planted to do just that! To freak you out so much that you would leave 🤔

I appreciate you doing a black kitty. Black is very challenging because you have to mix and balance the other colors under and over so it still looks black but not flat. I know you do this with a combination of indigo and umber and at time red tones like magenta but I have not seen this online done well and when I do it I have not got it to the point I have mastered. Beautiful fur baby! thank you
Thanks so much! I love drawing black fur because I actually think it's the easiest fur color to draw, not a whole lot of additional colors are needed like you do for many other fur colors. I always use delft blue for those purple colors.

Oh wow! The drawing is beautiful, but that story... The guy having on the same suit may have meant he was simply poor and trying to look his best for the woman he wanted to ask out. The continued running off is where that notion derails. He seemed fixated instead of interested.
My two cents - He was an opportunist and harmless as long as his fixation is doing what "he" thinks she should do. If you had a love interest appear at the store while he was there, that fixation may have spiraled into something deadly. He backed off because you asking that question told him that you could ID him and was aware of him. He realized that he had lost his advantage. Predators tend to be very intuitive in that regard.
I agree completely! People who develop obsessions to where they stalk the person, it only gets worse as time goes on. Usually they end up taking things further gradually doing more obsessive stalker behavior and it turns down the criminal spiral eventually. I have no idea how long of a time frame this all went on, between when he first started doing it, to when I finally noticed, and when I stopped working there and moved; may have been doing it for many months before I first noticed. I'm sure that me confronting him the way that I did, he was not expecting me to do that and it scared him off because now he knew that I knew and there was no more predatory advantage of me being unaware. I may very well have been the first person he got an obsession with, and I'm sure I wasn't the last. Bet the guy progressed to worse stalking behavior of some other poor girl.
@@jessicamatheneyfineart I was thinking the same thing (other women)! I just hope that they spotted him too before he spiraled out of control.
